The “Wacky Spelling Bee” is a fun spelling competition, designed to be a low-stress, sillier version of a traditional spelling bee. It's meant to be played with one class of students, in partner-teams. All students can actively participate for almost the entire competition, and even though it’s a bit wacky, spelling remains the focus. Categories Eight different round categories are included to choose from, as well as a final round, so every Wacky Spelling Bee can be a unique mix of categories. For example, one category is called, "Back-to-Back-and-Forth." Teammates stand back-to-back and spell their word by saying one letter at a time, back and forth, until the word is complete. Posters for each category are included (in both PDF and PowerPoint) to display during the competition, and detailed instructions and examples are provided for teacher reference. Word Lists Six themed word lists are included for different times of the year: -Halloween Words -Thanksgiving Words -Winter Words -Valentine's Day Words -Summer Words -Zoo Words Plus, an editable template is included, for you to create your own lists. Each word list is divided into three levels of difficulty to help you differentiate your competition. (Note: American spelling is used for all provided lists.) And More! You also get Score Sheets to keep track of the teams' points, AND printable award certificates for the champions, the finalists, and all of the participants (both color and black/white versions). **For personal and single classroom use only.
