Knitted ruffles and frills are a feminine addition to sweaters, skirts, jackets, scarves, baby clothes and blankets. You can even knit an entire scarf out of ruffles. Barb's Koigu Ruffle scarf from Churchmouse Classics is one of my favorites.

This is my first attempt at a jacket for a 14" Baby Annabell Doll. Its made in one piece to the armhole and has raglan shaping. I picked a simple eyelet pattern because I didn't want anything too fussy while I was working out the sizing and stitches. I used a budget yarn which knits up a bit bigger than the more expensive yarns so check your tension and add a few more stitches and rows if necessary. If you make this jacket and find any typos or errors, please let me know. Measurements: 14” 36cm, Baby Annabell doll Actual measurements: Chest 13”, Length centre back 6”, Sleeve seam 3” Materials: 50g double knitting yarn (I used Woolcraft Baby Care in pink), Needles size 3.25mm (US3) and 4mm (US6), 3 small buttons Tension: 22sts - 30 rows to 10cm (4in) in stocking stitch using 4mm needles Abbreviations: Ss: stocking stitch (one row knit, one row purl), gs: garter stitch – every row knit, k: knit, p: purl, inc: increase, dc: decrease, beg: beginning, sts: stitches, tog: together, re: repeat. This baby is one of my favorites with its unique sold out baby soft yarn. This look provides you ultra comfort and coziness with its baby textured yarn. It has light and soft shades of pink and blue that cascade into soft ruffles boarding the sleeves and trimming the bottom. All of my sweaters are freeform crochet, completely designed and created by me. Hand washing and laying out flat to dry is recommended. Sizing for the waist of this garment is roughly 32 inches which is typically a Small/Medium fit.

The cutest little preemie baby jacket I love Facebook because there is so much inspiration and lots of beautiful free patterns to be found like this little baby cardi. This pattern is so simple, it's knitted in one piece the only sewing being the shoulder and little sleeve seam. I took it along to show the ladies in the Day Unit where I work and they fell in love with it and wanted to knit some too so between us this is what we have made so far. I think there will be lots more before very long. These are going into my Preemie box to be sent to a local preemie baby group who distribute preemie items to neonatal units throughout England. A big thank you to Teresa Roberts for designing this pattern and sharing it with us, it comes in a newborn size too, because the link to the pattern doesn't work Teresa has given me permission to print it here on my blog.
