No more digging deep into a bag or a box looking for tools! You will love this handy tool bag with many pockets for storing and carrying all your sewing,
Finding a fun little project that will also enhance your life is just the best! I made up my little sewing caddy and was immediately so happy that I did. Such a wonderful place to store everything you may need while sitting at the machine. My husband even thought it was a great little item. You will need to cut; 1 rectangle 6 1/2" x 15" 3 rectangles 6 1/2" x 6" 1 rectangle 6 1/2" x 11" If you would like to quilt your large rectangle, you will also need a piece of batting (I like wool batting the best) 6 1/2" x 15". Quilting the backing for the pockets really makes for a much nicer caddy, so please don't skip this step. Check out the video below for my how to. Once again, I apologize for my weak voice. I feel a sore throat coming on, so it's a little quivery. For those of you who enjoy written instructions; You will need a 5" x 7" acrylic document frame. I found mine HERE. Cut 1 rectangle 6 1/2" x 15". Back it with a piece of wool batting and quilt it. Cut 3 rectangles 6 1/2" x 6". Press in half. Stack on top of each other leaving 1 1/4" at the top between each layer. To reduce bulk, the top 2 rectangles do not extend to the bottom. For the opposite side, cut 1 rectangle 6 1/2" x 11". Fold in half and press. Line up with the edge on the opposite end of the long rectangle. Baste the pockets to the large rectangle. Find the center and stitch from bottom to top on the 3 stacked pockets. Serge the lower edge to to give it a nice finish. Fold the large rectangle in half, fold up the bottom edge and stitch the sides with a 1/4" seam allowance. Clip the corners and turn. And voila, you have a fabulous little caddy! This little caddy can be made for a multitude of things, a desk organizer, maybe a place to keep paint brushes easily at hand. So get those creative juices going and sew up a storm! Enjoy! Rhonda
If you like to have your craft supplies near to hand, perhaps as you sit and sew, knit or crochet and watch the TV, then this custom caddy idea is for you!
Hello everybody!! Hope you are having a wonderful day and I'm so glad you came to visit. I wanted to give you a quick look at another box I'm making. This is going to be my new craft caddy to hold tools and tapes and glue, etc. This caddy is based on Kaisercraft's Desk Caddy but I've altered the design slightly to suit my needs. Here is the sketch I made of the design and the measurements. Rather amateurish I know but, luckily I'm the only one who needed to make sense of it. hehe!! I've used pasteboard for this project which is very similar to chipboard but you really could use any type of board you like as long as it's strong enough. The pictures below show all the measurements for the individual pieces. In a previous post I showed how to make the joiners used to glue these pieces together. You can find that post HERE. I drew lines on the base where the dividers needed to go so I would have a guide to get them in straight and then I placed a joiner on each side. Here you can see where I've placed the joiners on each side piece and also the other guide lines for the dividers. When attaching the sides to the base you need to leave a small gap of about 1/16" so that there is room for them to sit upright. On the dividers I glued a joiner on both sides of the piece so that the joint would have more strength. One divider for the length of the box ... and two of each of these for the width. Here you can see how I attached the main divider onto the base ... and then I attached the sides of the box to the divider ... but then I got so caught up in the moment that I forgot to take pictures of my progress so all I can now show you is the finished box. TA! DAH! If anyone is interested in making one of these and you have any questions, please just leave a comment and I'll answer as best I can. This is still a work in progress. In my next post I'll show you the finished product. Hopefully that won't take me too long, I'm looking forward to using it for my craft tools. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit. Please take care and God Bless. oxox Marg

Hi Everyone, The theme for this hop is the New Annual Catalogue which is full of exciting new things to play with. I've chosen to use the Cheerful Daisies bundle and teamed it with Subtles dsp stack in Bubble Bath which is one of the new Core Colours and is very pretty and combined it with an old favourite, Melon Mambo. Materials 1 piece of Melon Mambo card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scraps for the flowers 2 pieces of basic white card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", scraps for the flowers and sentiment 1 piece of Subtles dsp in Bubble Bath 3 5/8" x 5 3/8" Cheerful Daisies stamp set Cheerful Daisies dies Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine Basic Rhinestones Melon Mambo ink Bubble Bath ink Nature's Prints stamp set Trimmer Simply Scored Bone Folder Multipurpose Adhesive Dimensionals Instructions On the long side score the Melon Mambo at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base. Adhere one piece of the basic white to the card front and then add the dsp layer to that. Die cut the clump of three flowers in Basic White, then die cut the solid flowers and the intricate tops of those flowers in Melon Mambo to add some more depth and interest. You can cut all the layers in just one colour but I thought I would try two to see what it looked like and I have to say that I like it. Die cut two of the twiggy pieces. Snips the white flowers apart carefully to make three separate flowers, then add the white layer to the solid melon mambo pieces and then add the intricate melon mambo pieces over the top. They are really easy to line up so that they match. Add dimensionals to the back of the flowers and arrange them on the card front, make sure you leave enough space below them for your sentiment. Tuck in the twiggy bits around them, split them apart to make smaller bunches if you like. Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of white and then die cut using the label sentiment from this die set and add to the card front using dimensionals. On the remaining piece of white, stamp a sentiment in the centre and add a flower to the bottom right corner. This is a two step stamp and I have used Bubble Bath as the solid layer and added Melon Mambo for the detail. Adhere to the inside of the card. Sprinkle some rhines stones on the card front and the card is complete. Please pop over and see what everyone else has chosen from the New Annual Catalogue.
