Ronald Weasley's file was a file kept by the Ministry of Magic while it was under Lord Voldemort's control in 1997. It was kept on Dolores Umbridge's office.[1] The document listed Ron's blood status, security status and family information.[1] The film prop version of the file states that Ron is being tracked and was last seen in the company of Undesirable Number One, Harry Potter. Since, however, in the book, Arthur Weasley's file confirms that the Ministry of Magic believed Ron to be in bed wi

My friend Hannah had one week to pull it off. I was still off work and I had the desire to help her. She is a very busy PhD student and does not have time to mess around. We got to work, and with the support and assistance of her wonderful family, Ben had a great party. Link here for tutorial on wall and sign. My Max loved it. Broom treat bags. Cauldron cakes. All printables are off Etsy and come from here. Quidditch World Cup. Very clever idea by Hannah. Hannah's sister Leah made the candy wands. Which I taste tested and they were as good as they looked. Harry Potter cupcakes. Hannah made chocolate frogs and blow pops dipped in pop rocks. I hear she dipped them in honey to make it work. The golden snitch cake. Root beer with pumpkin juice labels. Little sister Maren. My favorite picture of the day. Hannah cut her finger open on a can, and nurse Brooke butterflied her up. She was very brave. And her uncle that ran out for supplies was ADORABLE, like tearing up adorable. Cousin Mathew. So handsome. I am such a sucker for chocolate eyes. Hannah made letters coming out of the fireplace. My Lily added to the cuteness. (see why I am a sucker for chocolate eyes?) Hannah enjoying the feast. The food was amazing. Hannah had another food table set up near the kitchen. Harry Potter books helped decorate. And the birthday boy thinking of a wish. Such a big guy. All printables available from a great shop on etsy called Loralee Lewis. Check it out. Prices were very reasonable.
This unidentified goblin worked in the capacity of Head Goblin of Gringotts Wizarding Bank in the early 1990s.[1] On 31 July 1991, this goblin summoned Griphook to aid Harry Potter and Rubeus Hagrid in performing their withdrawals in Gringotts.[1] It is unknown if he was still employed at Gringotts, because he was not seen among the other goblins when Harry and his friends broke into the bank on 1 May 1998.[2] The Head Goblin was portrayed by Warwick Davis, who also portrayed Professor Filius Fl
Have you ever looked out the window, hoping to see a snowy white owl holding a envelope announcing your acceptance into Hogwarts? My love for Harry Potter goes back to when I was eleven and picked up the first book. Immediately I was engulfed in the world of witchcraft and wizardry, I constantly was looking out the window hoping that an owl would show up with my very own Hogwarts acceptance letter. Needless to say, with the release of the last and final movie, fans everywhere were ready to dress up and go all out! Well at least I was. These costumes would be great for Halloween this year! New Potter Tree Update! It's about 95% done now - just a few more ornaments to make and add, if we have time! John and I initially tossed around several tree skirt possibilities, until I got the idea of the tree sprouting magically out of a cauldron. In addition to just being super fun for a Harry Potter theme, the cauldron also let us raise our little tree up a good 6 inches, which keeps more of the bottom branches away from playful cats. It's also a much cleaner look than a tree skirt, which - again, thanks to cats - is always getting rumpled and dragged around. And best of all, it hides all the power cords! You can use this tutorial to make a large rounded pot for all sorts of uses, from plant stands to Halloween decorations to a Christmas tree base, as I've done. It'll cost you less than $20 to make, and you can finish it to look like terra cotta, stone, hammered metal - you name it. So let's get started! First, full credit goes to Halloween Forum user Old Man Bakke, who wrote up his own cauldron process over a 15 page thread. Mine is essentially the same, but I'll save you the trouble of clicking through 15 pages of user comments. You Will Need: - This $7 plastic bucket from Wal-Mart: - 1 or 2 large moving boxes, also from Wal-Mart (I think they were $2 each) - 2 rolls of duct tape - Old newspaper & flour to make paper maché First, make a paper template for the curve you want to add to your bucket: When you're happy with the shape, trace as many as you can on the large moving boxes, and cut them out with a craft blade. You'll need a bare minimum of 35 or so, but the more you use, the better your end product will look. (We ended up using over 50) Now use your duct tape to start attaching these "ribs" to the bucket like so: I found it easiest to attach the tape to the cardboard first, and then stick it to the bucket. Work your way around, spacing the ribs about 2 inches apart: John and I did this together, with him cutting the cardboard and me taping, so we were done in under an hour: Next, start covering your spines with more duct tape, like so: When you have a solid covering of duct tape all the way around, it's time to break out the paper maché: Don't make your paper maché this wet; John got a little overzealous at first. ;) You'll want 3 or 4 layers for a good strong cauldron - and make sure you let the paper maché dry completely between layers. (This was the hardest part: waiting.) The paper peeled right off the lip of our bucket, since we didn't cover it in duct tape first. No problem, though; you don't need to paper maché the lip; just fill the holes where the rope handles used to be. To do that, stick a small piece of tape under the holes, and fill with spackle. For the handles, John found some old rubber tubing in the garage, and plugged each end into a small cut section of PVC pipe: You could also use towel rings, heavy rope, an old garden hose, or anything else you think you can make a big ring out of. This is purely decorative, so don't worry about it being strong. Glue your rings to the side (those screws were just for show; they weren't long enough to reach the bucket inside), and prime the whole shebang. After that I recommend hitting it with a coat of granite paint to add some gritty texture, which will help hide the lines from your cardboard ribs. (If you look closely at my next pic, you can just see the vertical lines on ours.) Once you have some good texture on there, paint the cauldron in the color of your choice. We used flat black to get that nice dusty iron look. This bucket isn't quite large enough to fit a stand in, so John made a new one out of some scrap wood. It's essentially a skinny post with a hole in it, braced on a round base: Making the switch was surprisingly easy, even with the tree already half decorated. John just lifted the tree straight up, I popped the old base off, and then he plunked it down into the new base. We added a power strip inside the cauldron, too, so there's only a single power cord coming out of the back. And finally, to help hide all those cords in the cauldron, John cut a round piece of cardboard like this: ... and after spraying it with a little spray adhesive, I covered it with some sparkly fiber fill: Here it is in place: Depending on how the light catches it, it either looks like smoke or bubbles. Either way, me likey. Hope you guys like our Christmas tree cauldron! And I'd love to see this finished in different ways to suit different styles, so if you ever decide to make your own, please be sure to share pictures! ***** Come see ALL of my craft projects on one page, right here!
So, I have had a number of people asking for the templates for the candy boxes and what not that I used for the Harry Potter party. Here they are! I hope anyone who wants to use them finds them easy to put together and helpful in planning a great Harry Potter marathon. Click here to go to the template for the Chocolate Frog Boxes. Click on the "Download Image" to get the template. I had to re-size mine a little so that the chocolate frogs I had would fit in them. I found a chocolate frog mold on Amazon. The chocolates were just slightly too big for the original size of the box. Click here to get the template for the Bertie Botts Beans Box. Again, I re-sized this once I had it downloaded to make it easier to work with. I have since found another template, click here, that I think might be easier to make. I haven't fully read the instructions on the second template, but the first doesn't really show you how to close the top. I punched holes in each section and strung red raffia through the holes and tied the ends together in a bow. For the windows, I took transparency film and cut the pieces slightly larger than the windows so I could glue it. You could use clear cellophane, but I thought the transparency film would be stronger and hold up better. WARNING: if you plan to make a lot of these boxes, they hold quite a few beans in them. We made close to thirty boxes and went through about fifteen pounds of jelly beans. The cost can be high, though the guests reaction to getting them at our party made it worth it in my mind. For the logbooks that I made, I wanted to cover them with Harry Potter paper. The problem I ran into was that all the HP paper I found in scrapbook stores wouldn't work well for what I wanted. The solution: I made my own paper. Click here to get the paper to use for any number of HP crafts you want to create. If you want to create your own paper, wordle.net is a great site, though it does take some getting used to. You also have to do a download in order for it to work. My sister made the Marauder's Maps. She followed the directions on the site with only one change. She aged the paper by spraying it with tea and baking it in the oven. She found the map by looking through the craft links on The Leaky Cauldron site. The wand making instructions can be found here. We filled our wands with sand to give them a more realistic weight. Everyone had fun making these and then dueling each other. Recipies: To make the acid pops, you will need sour suckers, pop rocks, and water. I had trouble finding sour suckers in my area, but finally found them at Zurchers. They also had the pop rocks there. I just love that store! Anyway, to make the acid pops, you'll need to unwrap the suckers. Fold a paper towel up and place in a small bowl with a little water. You just need enough water to soak the paper towel through. Roll the sucker around on the paper towel to get it damp. Next, roll the sucker in pop rocks until the surface is covered. You will hear the pop rocks pop and fizzle, but don't worry, there will be enough pop left in them. Wrap the suckers in wax paper. I would advise making these within twenty-four hours of serving. The longer they sit, the less the pop rocks react when eating. The stand was made from a styrafoam cone. I simply painted it green and stuck the sucker sticks in it to create my own sucker tree. You can purchase a lollipop stand if you would like to reuse one. Amazon has a fairly simple one for a reasonable price. The cockroach clusters were easy to make. I simple broke up pieces of pretzels and covered them in chocolate. They did look like they might have pieces of cockroaches in them, but they tasted great! The pretzels wands were even easier to make than the cockroach clusters. I simply dipped the ends in melted chocolate and them took chocolate drizzel to create a zig-zagged look.

The inspiration of the school uniform has often found its way into fashion and film. The recurring shapes are iconic: the pleated kilt, knee high or short white socks, penny loafers, jumpers, and gold-buttoned crested blazers. This campaign encapsulated the Ministry of Magic's attempts to discredit, slander, and smear both Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter, as well as anyone perceived or believed to be an ally with them. This campaign was put in place on 24 June 1995 after the Rebirth of Lord Voldemort, and ended on 18 June 1996 after the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. It was initiated when Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge denied the Dark Lord's return, a fact that would ruin the thirteen years of peace that
