The Graph shows the percentage of male and female academic staff members across the faculties of a major university in 2015. Overall, while engineering department had an overwhelming presence of men, women dominated education faculty. Other faculties had still fairer compositions, especially the department of medicine. Quite interestingly, engineering had 85% males with only 15% women teaching in this domain. Other departments that saw more men teaching were Science and Business, which had similar proportion of male teachers, 65%, and Law had a slightly lesser but a majority of men – 60%. On the other hand, female lecturers dominated education, 75%, with men only constituting one-fourth of total strength. Arts also had a major of females, constituting 55% of the total faculty. Quite in a contrast, the department of medicine was more evenly distributed with females having just a slight edge over the men. In this faulty, female teachers were just above 50%, and the men just below 50%. 1

The charts below show one government's spending on culture and education in 1995 and 2005 and the number of people participating in arts events in the same years. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words Ielts Academic Writing task 1 The given charts illustrate the percentage spent on culture and education by the government in the years 1995 and 2005, and depict the number of participants in the arts event held during the same time. Overall, it can be observed that there are major changes in the allocation of budget in the 10 years, from 1995-2005, spending on music and visual arts experienced a significant decrease, whereas theatre and literature wittnesed a rise. Majority of money was spent on music which had the highest number of participants i.e. 130,000 in 1995 followed by theatre, visual arts and literature having 80,000, 50,000 and 20,000 entrants respectively; whereas in 2005 the number of students registering rose in the above mentioned field by 25,000, 10,000, 5,000 and 10,000 respectively. Moreover, monetary allocation to theater is made equal to what is being spent on musical activities in the same year and a similar trend can also be observed with visual arts whose funding is now equal to that of literature.
You don't have to use the Past Perfect when you describe graphs IELTS Writing Task 1, but it looks good. Here's a simple way to use it perfectly.

The Bar Chart below gives information about the percentage of the population living in urban areas in the whole world and in different parts of the world. Write at least 150 words Ielts Academic - Graphs Urbanized Population The given bar chart illustrates trends of urbanization of population across the globe, and specifically in five regions. Less than 1/3rd world population was in urban areas in 50’s, which almost doubled in 2007. But, the speed of urbanization is expected to slow down in next decade. In 1950’s, more than half of population in North America, 64%, and Europe,51%, was urbanized, while in 42% Latin Americans lived in urbanized locations. Asia and Africa had less than 1/5th of population in urban centers, 17% and 15% respectively. By 2015, urbanized population almost doubled in Latin America, 78%, Asia, 41%, and Africa – 37%. Quite strikingly, Europe, North and Latin Americas found 3/4th of population in urban centers, less than 50% Asian and Africans chose to live in cities. By 2030, close to 90% of population – North American,87%, Latin Americans, 84% - would be living in urban surroundings, while a little more than 3 quarters, 78%, Europeans would be urbanized. In Asia and Africa though only half of population would be urbanized.

The chart blow shows the percentage of Irish language speakers by province (Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Ulter) in the Republic of Ireland (State) in between 1981 and 2002. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make necessary comparisons where relevant. Ielts Academic Writing Task 1 - Graphs The given chart indicates at the percentage of the speakers of Irish Language in 4 different states of Ireland, namely Leinster, Munster, Connacht, and Ulster, and the country as a whole. It can clearly observed from the trends indicated in graph that the population of speakers of Irish language increased at a very slow rate between 1981 and 1991 in all four states, as well as the country, Leinster registered even a fall between 1981 and 1986. There was a spurt in number of speakers of native language between 1991-1996, highest being in Munster, 10%. The nation also recorded a healthy rise. From 1996 to 2002 the rise in all states was negligible. The figures also present a striking fact that Connacht had highest number of speakers throughout the quoted period, 38%and 48%; followed by Munster, though this state witnessed highest growth in number of Irish speakers; and Ulster recording second highest growth rate of 12%. Leinster had least number of speakers throughout that were even below the national averages.

The chart below gives information on the percentage of British people giving money to charity by age range for the years 1990 and 2010. Write at least 150 words IELTS ACADEMIC WRITING TASK 1 BAR CHART The given bar chart elucidates changes in the percentage of British donors in various age groups between 1990 and 2010. On an overall, the highest percentage of donors was n age group 36-50 years in 1990, while it was in age group 51-65 years in 2010. Similarly, the proportions of Britons donating in age groups, 15 to 50 declined between 1990 and 2010, but the percentage of people donating aged 51 and above rose in the 20 year period. In 1990, ratio of individuals aged between 16 and 25 years was 17%, it rose in the older age groups, 30 % in 26-35 and 42% in 36-50, the highest number of people doing charity. However, the percentage dipped in the older age groups 35% 51-65 and 32% in age groups 65 and over. In contrast, the percentage of people aged between 18 years and 50 years witnessed a decline, steepest in the youngest age group, almost 10%; however, it rose in people aged 51-65 and more than 65 years.
