It's makes them feel like they are putting their best work on display and I always feel they put a little more effort into making it look great! Check it out! I'm So Fancy Writing Paper (yes, if you have the song in your head in right now.. I'm Sorry!) You can grab the I'm So Fancy Writing Paper here and this FREEBIE PAGE too! Here's the preview of just some of the 200 pages that can be used throughout the year! If you are looking for themed writing paper, check out the following: Writing Paper Themed for the Whole Year. It also comes with Handwriting Without Tears Lines! These include 82 pages and 10 Journal Covers! (PLEASE NOTE - ALL OF THESE HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE A LOT MORE CHOICES! UPDATE: I've had several requests for creating paper for the older students, so I made I'm So Fancy for Older Students. Enjoy! Linking up with Kelsea from Teacher Gems to share tips and tricks! Stikki-Clips are amazing! I punch a small hole with a hole puncher in posters, projects, etc. and then keep the stikki-clip on the wall attached UPSIDE DOWN. Therefore, I can change out posters in a quick and easy way. They also keep the project hanging much longer and takes less clips to hold a project! I LABEL EVERYTHING! From guided reading books, book bins, and math manipulatives, to toys, games, and supplies. It helps the children (and me) remember where everything goes. For younger children, I color code everything or include a picture so they can easily find where to put the items back. It helps to keep everything organized. You can grab these math labels here. Update: I've included more labels for you! Here are just some of the labels I made this year from my EDITABLE label collection- Update: I've been adding to the ultimate collection and it has over 180 labels with 20 different styles! The MAGIC CIRCLE TRICK on the smartboard. Want to erase everything super fast on the smart board? Take your eraser on the smartboard and create a big circle around everything you want to erase (don't lift the eraser up while doing so). Most importantly, the ending point has to touch the beginning point. Then, tap the center (or anywhere in the circle with the eraser) and poof! everything inside the circle will erase. If it doesn't work, it means you didn't connect the starting and ending point of the circle. Find some other amazing fall math ideas from other great teachers below at Math Madness Wednesdays!

These are the things I wish I knew as a teenager, things I wish to convey to my younger self. And, I’ll believe my purpose behind writing this will be fulfilled if this could help even one teenager to get their thoughts together and trust the process of life. I will feel my job is all done if it could help anybody.

The topic for this resource is bees or ladybugs. These opinion writing activities are great to put in a writing center for students to choose which pictures to use to give their opinions about or for a mini lesson on opinion writing. This resource includes one page with picture choices of insects (bees or ladybugs). The page says “Which insect do you like better? Why?” then it has five blank lines for students to write on to tell why they think their choice is the best. Students love telling which item they like better. This activity encourages students to give the reason why they think their choice is better. Teachers can also use these writing activities as a whole class activity. Assigning these activities for a homework assignment can include parents in helping increase their child’s writing skills. However you choose to use these activities, I hope your students develop a love for writing. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy this resource. Just Reed's Ten Pin Linky is perfect for finding some new to me ideas! Source: What the Teacher Wants If you haven't read The Squiggle yet, it's a must read for next year! Students turn the squiggle into a picture and then write a story about it. There are a lot of squiggle options to choose from. How cute, right?? I've used this idea the past two years and my students absolutely love it. Source: Life in First Grade Need to make this ASAP! Source: Mrs. Kelly's Klass This is great for informational writing. Most of my students are understood that they couldn't copy the exact words from a book, but this printable would really help drive that point home. Source: For the Love of First Grade This is the only cure for the dreaded "And Disease." My kids thought this was hysterical. I played it up whenever I met in individual conferences. I would ask the student "Are you feeling okay?" They would say they are fine and I would feel their forehead and say "Umm, I don't think so - you've got the And Disease!" ;) Source: A Day in First Grade Love the Rocket books!
