Hi, I'm Amira Asmodea and today I bring you an article so you can learn to create your own altars where you can dedicate yourself to witchcraft and perform your spells. If you have never entered my website, here you will find a lot of information to practice sorcery, save the address and come back soon! You have decided to start making your own spells and rituals in your house. If you've already read about how white magic works and what you need to start, it's time to prepare your own altar to do rituals and ceremonies of white magic. Building a basic altar is really quite simple. Probably you will want to include some other things to decorate it, but most importantly in principle is to be functional. It has to be created with the idea to help you reach your goals. Let's look at the basic things involving most of the traditions of Wicca and Paganism in the altars. Think of your altar as a special place, within your "sacred space" where you focus, meditate, and generate energy for your spells. This sacred space is also protected from energies, so you are completely protected and accumulating positive energy. Wiccan Altar Where to place the Altar You can build your altar indoors or outdoors, depending on your preferences, the weather, and the type of spells you are going to do. It is recommended to have a space inside the home dedicated solely to your rituals and ceremonies, but if you do not have much space you can prepare it in a corner of your room, or have it stored in a wardrobe where you can take it out for every occasion. Some spells require the altar to be next to a window on the full moon, so it's a good idea to have a temporary altar that you can mount and dismount. Make sure the area is free of clutter and dirt. Having a clean space will help you focus on your spell. Customize your Altar Above all, your altar must represent who you are and what your beliefs are. This will depend on whether you follow Wicca or other pagan religions. Decorate your altar letting your creativity flow because your altar will be a representation of who you are inside. Put things that evoke positive emotions within you too. I recommend you follow these steps: Clean the entire room where your altar will be. You can use a home cleaning ritual or simply dissolve sea salt in water and wipe the walls, ceiling, and floor with a clean cloth. Delimit where your circle of protection will be using a small object that is special to you. You can use candles, stones, statuettes, or amulets. Try to make a circle of at least a meter and a half in diameter around your altar. If you can, decorate the rest of the room or space with the same theme. Before each ritual, you can prepare the environment with fabrics, candles, images, soft music, etc. The next step is to cleanse your sacred space, within the circle. First, consecrate your tools with pure, positive energy from your heart. Or charge a little water with your energy and then use that water to clean your altar. Design your altar. You can use anything you want to decorate your altar ... but try not to use too many synthetic materials. For the altar itself, you can use a small wooden table. You can place representations or figurines of the gods of your choice. An example would be to locate the Goddess on the left, and the male god on the right. You can also make an altar for angels. Depending on the spell or spell you are going to do, you can customize your altar with various objects and tools. Choose the colors of the candles, statuettes, charms, incense, stones, herbs, and jewelry to align with the energy you are trying to project. As long as the altar is a representation of you and what you are trying to accomplish, and you have cleaned the area, you can start using it. I generally recommend having nothing on the altar, unless you are casting a spell or a ritual is in progress. Many witches fill their altar with all kinds of things, creating interference and confusion, which is really a barrier to any kind of real magic, rather than a help. Let's look at the basic things that most Wiccan and pagan traditions include on the altars. The Altar for Magic Get the symbols of the four traditional elements. These are usually aligned to the four cardinal points. You can put a container of Earth or sand at the northern end of your altar to represent the Earth, a stick of incense in the East can symbolize air, a candle or coal in the South to fire, and a bowl of water in the West. Candles: You can add on your altar also a candle of the Goddess and one to God if your tradition refers to them, or you can use four candles to represent the four directions. Be sure to always have a lighter or matches. The athame: Most Wiccans and pagans use a dagger in its rituals, so you can put one on your altar. The athame is the ritual dagger (must have a double edge) that symbolizes the element Air. The wand: The wand is used for direct energy, so if you decide to use one, keep it on your altar. Your book of shadows: If you're going to make several spells or rituals, it is useful to have one on hand. Basically, it's a diary or personal recipes where you keep the spells that you use, take notes, and documents your experiences and results. You can add other items as needed, and space will allow you. You can include any components that you will need for your spells. If you are celebrating a special occasion or, invoking a particular deity, you can decorate the altar accordingly also. In any case, make sure that your altar contains everything you need to make effective spells before the ceremony.
