The Amazon River, boasting the planet's highest discharge and ranking among the world's longest rivers, meanders across South America for roughly 4,000 miles. Its source lies within the Andes Mountains, and it eventually converges with the Atlantic Ocean. Encompassing a colossal basin spanning nine countries, this remarkable region houses an incredible array of plant and animal species, with a significant portion of them being exclusive to this unique ecosystem.
