Swimming Pool, Parachute Jump, and Ferris Wheel in Steeplechase Park, Surf Avenue, Coney Island, NY. Based on the cars in the photo, I'd say this picture was taken sometime in the 1940s or 1950s. Sadly, these attractions have long been removed from the Coney Island skyline. In fact, Steeplechase Park is now the home of the Brooklyn Cyclone minor-league baseball stadium.

Before Stanley Kubrick directed arguably some of the best movies ever made like '2001: Space Odyssey' or 'The Shining,' he was a simple teenager in New York looking for a job. But even then, when the 17-year-old got his hands on a photo camera, he couldn't hide the talent within.
