If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, just reach out on Etsy message so we can make it right! PRO TIP In printing, like so many other services, a lot of factors determine the quality of the reproduction. How thick (or flimsy) the paper is, the resolution of the original photograph, the expertise of the individual processor/printer and the time spent polishing the image to perfection prior to printing. Before you purchase a print from just any vendor, look to see if they use a third party printing service/drop shipper, or do they control the entire process by producing and shipping the print themselves? Do they use a commercial printer, or do they simply print on a commonplace laser printer like you would find at Office Max or in a home? What paper do they use? Note: Digital downloads are typically just pulled from the internet with no work done to improve their appearance. Both of us at AntiquePhotoArchive are perfectionistic artistic technicians and have decades of professional experience both in printing and in the interior and graphic design fields. We now have the privilege of operating our business out of our home. Not only are we professional, we are nice people with big hearts. This authentic 130-year-old print was rescued from a disbound volume of The Encyclopaedia Britannica - A Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and General Literature - Ninth Edition – 1875-1889 – Edinburgh: Adam & Charles Black. This rare antique AQUEDUCT print is of the REMAINS OF AQUEDUCT OF METZ; AQUEDUCT OF PONT DU GARD NEAR NISMES; AQUEDUCT OF MAINTENON; AQUEDUCT DEL TORRE, SPOLETO; CHIRK AQUEDUCT (ELLESMERE CANAL), and DEE AQUEDUCT (ELLESMERE CANAL). It is Plate IV from Vol. II. It is a single sheet, blank on the reverse, and measures approx. 8.5 x 11 inches (21.5 x 27.5 cm), with clean borders for framing. It is not mounted, matted or framed so you are free to display it how you want. It would look great framed as a set with other Aqueduct, Rivers, Canals and Harbours prints in our range. Considering its age, this 19th Century print is in excellent condition, on well-preserved paper. The beautifully detailed design is still bright, and the paper has a lovely satin feel. There is tonal aging (to be expected from antique prints and only adds to their charm) otherwise it is very clean with no obvious defects to mention. These fascinating, antique prints make unique, original gifts and wonderful additions to your home or office décor. Click the ADD TO CART button, then take a look at our range of maps and prints on offer – you could even start your own exclusive collection! We take great care to make sure our prints reach you in perfect order by enclosing them in protective plastic sleeves and shipping them flat in rigid mailers. The shipping amount is for the first print - there is no additional shipping cost for orders of multiple prints, and we ship worldwide within one business day of receiving cleared funds. All prints, whether antique, vintage or modern should be protected from exposure to direct sunlight. Thanks for visiting our store and please stop by again soon as we’ll be adding to it regularly.
Next week (15 to 28 July 2013) there will be an exhibition at Chelsea Gallery (part of Chelsea Reference Library) on the forgotten designer whose figure-revealing dresses caused a sensation in 1908…
This authentic antique 2-sided print is from Franz Sales Meyer’s “A Handbook of Ornament” First Edition published in 1896 by B.T. Batsford, London, and is signed in the plate. Measuring approx. 8½” x 5¾” (21.5 x 14.5cm) it features The Cross on both sides and has borders for framing. There is light tanning consistent with age. The artistry is amazing, and it makes a unique gift or wonderful addition to your home or office décor. Franz Sales Meyer (1849-1927) was a German professor of ornament, author, poet and painter. He was educated at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. The book contains Meyer’s “collection of ornamental forms” and is the largest single-volume collection of classical art motifs ever compiled. This historic work covers the entire field from Egyptian times to the Victorian era and is an essential reference work. We ship worldwide within one business day of receiving cleared funds. All prints are sealed in a plastic bag and protected in a rigid mailer to ensure its safe arrival. We will ship ANY number of prints in one package - you pay one shipping fee only! *** We also offer the range of Meyer prints as digital downloads in our other Etsy store – click on our store link below: www.peartreedownloads.etsy.com
Giclee fine art print reproduction from antique 18th century American folk art fraktur painting of two unicorns. 4x5 or 8x10 paper size. ***1/4 inch white borders are used for prints 5 inches and larger unless requested otherwise -- this means the image will be set 1/4 inch within the exact paper size listed above. Smaller prints (3.5x5, 4x4, 4x5, 4x6) will be sent without borders unless requested otherwise. See the last paragraph of this description for more available border options.*** Printed with a professional Giclee printer on Somerset Velvet 100% cotton rag fine art paper with archival pigment inks. These are fine art prints, not cheap posters -- produced with the highest quality inks, thick matte paper, and Giclee (museum quality) printing method. The image scans used are high resolution and printed at full quality. Although custom requests are welcome, please note that the print sizes are listed to the largest possible size for each image. Processing time before shipment is 1-3 business days. Shipping is USPS First-Class with tracking, and orders over $35 in the United States ship free. Shipping upgrades available in cart. Prints may be shipped either flat or rolled, depending on size. Rolled prints are packaged around the outside of a tube and then bubble-wrapped and placed inside a long box -- this is because the thick fine art paper cannot be rolled tightly enough to go inside the tubes without causing damage to the paper. To flatten rolled prints, they can be laid out under a stack of heavy books. Please note that since these are vintage images, they do not always conform exactly to the standard paper sizes -- this means some images will have a slightly larger white border on two sides to allow the image to fit with no cropping (the paper size stays the same, but if an image is more narrow or short than the closest standard paper size, the borders will be slightly larger on two sides). If you would like a particular image size, no border, or a larger border (1/2 inch or 1 inch), please send a request and most adjustments can be accommodated at no extra charge. If you would like a 1 inch external border, that can be done for no extra charge and increases the paper size by 2 inches each way (for example, an 8x10 image with 1 inch external borders will be printed on 10x12 paper). Please note the external border (making the paper larger) is only available as 1 inch, while the internal border (making the image smaller) is available as 1/4, 1/2, or 1 inch.
