This listing showcases the style in created in a mixture of amethyst tones with creams hues. and creams with hints of violet but i can create in any colour combination. The bodice has layers of fabrics stitched on, lacing sweeps across the front of the bodice and also laces up at the back. Lace appliqués have been stitched onto the hip section. The hem of the dress is short at the front and sweeps down at the back. You have the option of a train like in the photo or it can be shorter so it doesn’t touch the ground. The fabrics used are cotton, chiffon, lace, tulle. If you would like a dress which is a full gown front and back, this will cost more due to more fabrics being used. This would be £900.00 excluding postage. Once you purchase this made to order dress, I need your measurements, bust, under bust, waist, hips, length from waist to hem (front), length from waist to hem (back).let me know your colour preferences. Please note, although I use your measurements given to create this dress, alterations may still be required to ensure the perfect fit. This work can be carried out by a local seamstress. This dress with take up to 8 weeks to complete.
I love the Mexican papel picado (festival papers) draped across the room for no apparent reason. Without question, one of the many rewarding things about the Internet is stumbling upon talent that you would have not found otherwise. While flipping through the Sanctuary blog, I see pictures of a wonderful interior by Kristin Perers. I went to her website and learn she is a photographer and was immediately taken by her portfolio, her since of style and her (all white!) home. I wanted to Pin some of her images but many were in double image formats and besides, there were so many too choose that I decided to just do a special blog post about her. Chicago born but now living in London, she was a stylist, designer and now has found her home behind the camera. Take a look at her lovely style and soulful images: The raw concrete wall works perfectly with the statue fragments. Simple is always better. This makes me want to redo my kitchen. Large paint swatches suddenly become art. Once again, framing is overrated. A wonderful textural vignette. I especially love how the simple cotton dresses hanging on the hutch mimic the silhouette of the dress forms. I love the scale and placement of all these random objects. Not just a picture of carrots but this image is instantly made more personal by showing the hands and tool that farms the food. From the "why didn't I think of that?' file; rustic blue fabric hung from pegs for the backdrop and not cropped out of the shot but shown to add more interest to plain 'ol kale. Also loving the edge of the table showing and not centered in the frame. Not one board but two, wrapped towel, reduced stew. Love the color tones of this image as well as the styling with parchment paper. An amazing portrait of this fishmonger (and I love the bright blue sleeves peeking out). Cup shape, plate texture, layers. See more images and learn about Kristin Perers on her website. _________________________________ SHOP ONLINE at curioussofa.com New items added today! I cannot believe that it has been one year today that I started my blog 20 North Ora. You all have seen me doing all kinds of things..... learning to make vignettes.... doing crafty things.... decorating my home.... making all kinds of wreaths.... showing off my Saturday Treasures.... the pain of losing this precious child.... the joy of this gift from God.... Miss Begonia.... being published in Romantic Homes.... becoming acquainted with my darling Bella.... and doing crazy things like zip lining in Alaska. What a year it has been! I could have never imagined making so many new friends - real, true friends that I know I will have for a long time. I thank you all for your support and your prayers while John goes thru this cancer process.
A Spanish artist living in Venice, Mariano Fortuny began designing printed fabrics in 1906. In work strongly influenced by antiquity, he emphasised the fluidity of garments with no waistline, creating sober, timeless, vertical pieces perfectly adapted to revealing the forms of the body. Registered in Fortuny's name in 1909, his emblematic ‘Delphos’ dress—named after the Charioteer of Delphi—took its inspiration from the chiton, the long woollen Greek tunic, and reflects the craze for Greece whose interpreter at the time was Isadora Duncan. This one-size-fits-all dress, made of finely pleated silk and open to all sorts of subtle variants of neckline and sleeves, was an ongoing success for forty years. Its admirers among the modernist elite included Comtesse Greffulhe and her daughter Elaine, the Marchesa Luisa Casati, Sarah Bernhardt, Eleonora Duse and, of course, Isadora Duncan.
