However, for those of you who actually collect antiques, you know that not to be true. Today I thought I'd highlight some dinnerware from the 19th Century. The images you'll be seeing come from the internet may of which come from auctions or online sales, I will post the image, credit the site and give the link. 7 rare antique Copeland Spode botanical dessert plates featuring grisaille hand-painted pink roses embellished with 22 kt gold leaves, trim, and fluted scalloped edges. Each plate features a different rose design. Circa 1890. HISTORY: Josiah Spode was born in 1733 and after several years of gaining experience working for other local potters, he established his own shop in 1776. CONDITION: The plates are in mint condition. No hairlines cracks or chips. FINAL COMMENTS: Plates are works of art! Best used for display. These dessert plates are special and not found readily on the open market. In my 30-plus years of collecting, I have never seen any plates like these. Each plate is unique and works well as a cabinet display. No dishwasher o microwave. Hand washes for the best care. Heirloom quality to be used in elegant settings is eventually passed down through the family. UPS will pack, ship, and insure. Free shipping for US customers.
