The Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit, Michigan. Basket, about 1900, of willow and woody plants, by an unknown artist of the Apache culture in Arizona. Baskets of this larage size were normally only woven for wealthy art collectors outside the community. It took highly skilled weavers to manage the geometric patterns and designs on such a large basket, which required many months to complete and likely brought a very high price. View On Black
