I love my (rented) house. It’s true. It’s in the suburbs, but it’s bright and light – and I can look out across rooftops and trees. It’s my favourite place to be. Home is my absolute fave. I have been thinking a bit about other kinds of houses and places to live, too. I favour houses where you can go for nice walks nearby and see the trees from the living room… or perhaps see other natural and lovely things from the living room. My current house is near lots of things I like, but far enough from things to feel like a retreat. It’s a nice change from living on busy Brunswick Street in Fitzroy for 8 years. And clattery Bridge Road in Richmond for 3 years before that. The green and the quiet of my now house are good things for me. I also like it that my house is a bit non-traditional.
