I BLOG BY THEME or BY COLOR
So, back to Arwen. Yeah, guess what happened? I lost the sketch again. Blast it! Lost the transparency of the paint too. So, I started again. And I think I prefer this new one much more. Here are the steps. I started with a sketch. Scanned into PS and started building around it. I knew I wanted her back lit and of course, the banner needed to be included as well. Tried to frame her with the tree in the foreground. Needed two hands to show her looking at the banner. Then I warmed it up some more and added the leaves. Trying for a looser look. Applying color as I would paint. I think her hands might need improvement and perhaps more length. I will get my midweek critique tomorrow. I also feel I need to thicken one of the branches to give it more variation. That's all for now.

UPDATE: I made a newer version for this tutorial on my new blog. go check it out :) --> filmkostueme.ch/tauriel-traveling-cloak/ ----------- As announced, here's my post about the lacing closure ;) ------------- Wie angekündigt, hier mein Post über den Schnürverschluss ;) I went shopping for a matching satin ribbon and this is what I found: ------------- Ich habe nach passendem Satinband gesucht und diese beiden gefunden: I wasn't happy with either of them.... one was to bright green and the other one brown. So I trided to dye the green one. Well that wasn't so easy, I had to use a lot of black and brown acrylic paint with a smal amount of water untill I got a result. At first I used to much water and the color wouldn't change at all... Below you can see the color bath and the ribbons hanging from a hanger to dry. And a before/after picture. Still not exactly what I wanted, but much better ;) ------------- Und ein vorher/nachher Bild. Immernoch nicht ganz so wie ich es wollte, aber viel besser ;) For the loops I used the same ribbon, only folded in half and sewn together. First I pinned it in place and then sewed it on. ------------- Für die Schleifen habe ich das selbe Satinband verwendet, einfach in die Hälfte gefaltet und zusammen genäht. Erst habe ich die Schleifen festgesteckt und dann angenäht. And that's my final result.... --------------- Und so sahs dann am ende aus... ......ah well, okey not quite final ;) I didn't really like the result. The ribbon was to wide for my linking, so I sewed it in half as well. Now I'm satisfied with it :) ----------------- ........okey noch nicht ganz am ende ;) Ich war nicht so zufrieden damit, mir war das Band zu breit, also habe ich es ebenfalls in die Hälfte genäht. Jetzt bin ich ganz zufrieden :) Next post will be about the shoulder part (edging and flaps) ------------- Im nächsten Post wirds dann um die Schulterpartie gehen (Einfass und Patten) See you soon :) Sarah

Liv Tyler has been careful to observe the contract she has with Givenchy re: their Very Irresistible advertising campaign, but she lets slip here and there some hints that maybe she's into more options than she lets on. We had mentioned in the past how beautiful Liv likes to wear a fragrance to make herself identifiable with, but now it turns out she has had a collection since her teenager years. Her newest comments also hint at her ...disloyalty to her "assigned fragrance", if you read between the lines that is. According to Movie NTDT the 34-year old actress, famous for her "Lord of the Rings" Arwen portrayal, still keeps the fragrance bottles she liked as a teenager and can't bring herself to throw any of them because of the memories of those times they trigger for her. "I have a collection of fragrances I've had since I was a teenager -I don't wear them, I just smell them for the memories. I wear Very irresistible -it's delicious- but I think it smells better on my grandmother. Every time I see her I say "You smell so good" and she says "Very Irresistible". Ouch! pic via lotr.wikia.com

..Off my face! I knew very darn well that as soon as I started adding all the finishing touches to Arwen Edwina's wardrobe, that I was not going to be able to stop taking photos. One of the reasons why the "Fig&me 5 year Celebration" is kind of on hold right now, as one c
