"Kinuko Craft is a Renaissance woman. By this I mean not that she paints like the Renaissance painters, but that she is an artist for all seasons, for all kinds of subjects, and in all kinds of styles. If you will survey her works, you will find little duplication in form, color or texture. She fits

Brian Kershisnik is the youngest of a happy and widely traveled family of sons. His father’s work as a petroleum geologist took them to various continents across the globe where his mother unfailingly set up a home filled with music, great food and active conversation, furnished with treasures and artifacts from their travels and hosting frequent parties and exotic slide shows of their globetrotting family life.Brian grew up happily dividing his time between his dad’s overseas assignments and summers spent with cousins in Rock Springs, Wyoming, a friendly, curious kid and with no notion at all of what he wanted to be when he grew up.
Works of art transformed into something more.
Director John McKay debuted his We’ll Take Manhattan in the Charlotte Street Hotel last week and had a most unforgiving audience. Not only were the stars of the show in attendance (Karen Gillan, who plays Jean Shrimpton, and Aneurin Barnard who plays a sw

It is a language that speaks beyond words, connecting directly to the soul — rather than the logical mind which has previous meanings associated with words and languag
Fashions of the victorian era were beautiful, intricate and ornate. women looked like walking pieces of art. By the teens, women were looking more sporty, skirts were shorter to engage in physical activity. The 1920s fashions were daring and boyish for the first time. The 1930s were long and slinky, and the fashions of the 1940s were glamorous.

“St. Cecily (Cecilia)” Ezio Anichini Ezio Anichini is one of our all-time favorite artists. Working mainly in the Art Nouveau style (or Stile Liberty) of the early 20th Century, he was the master of dreamy religious portraits. Famous for his Litany of Loreto, less known are his extensive magazine covers he did for arts magazines in Italy, where he was often able to incorporate his Catholic faith into his assignments and promote Catholicism from the newsstands. In this one from 1907, Arts and Labor: Music and Musicians Illustrated Monthly Magazine, he has painted the primary Catholic Saint of music, St. Cecelia, and placed her in the hands of her angel, who is her muse, bringing her Heavenly inspiration. Muse, music, right? The word music (musica in Italian) comes from the Greek word mousike, which means "art of the Muses." There is something timeless and beautiful in Anichini's work, something we always find fresh and enjoyable. ** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! Frank Stella: A Retrospective, which opened yesterday at the Whitney Museum of American Art, is a brilliantly curated, blatantly overhung masterstroke of an exhibition that turns the artist’s weaknesses into strengths and his strengths into powerhouses.
