About The Artwork This is a composition with two figures but it is unclear where one starts the other ends. The theme is around dance or love. About this artwork: Classification, Techniques & Styles Technic Printmaking Printmaking was originally used to communicate. About The Artwork This works resembles the harmony between nature and beings in the idea of Arcadia the ideal place of existence. I chose blue as a colour which creates an image of depth and endlessness and also want to viewer to sink into this blue scenery having a feeling of balance and weightlessness. I want the figures to merge like two liquids and also no distract from the idea of shaped reality rather than thought shapes. 6x12 print on wood Jigsaw Linocut Printmaking has been artist Leslie Nan Moon's passion since she took an elective class as an undergraduate. Her art is narrative in style and whether real or reimagined, it’s very Pacific Northwest. In her most recent work she is primarily using the technique known as “jigsaw puzzle linocuts”. In this method she begins by drawing and then carving her design into a piece of linoleum. After she has finished carving she cuts up the block and then applies different colors of ink to each piece individually. Next she puts the block back together (like a puzzle) before laying the paper down on the block and pulling a print. Ink must be reapplied by hand to the linoleum for each original print she creates. Leslie Nan Moon Losing myself in my art in a healthy way is one of my greatest strengths. I’ve always loved to make art but over the last few years I truly NEED to make art. It saves my soul. I am the mom to a 21 year old son with severe Autism and Intermittent Explosive Disorder among other things. Due to the lack of services for people like my son he is with me almost 24/7. We do a lot of driving around, visiting landmarks, parks and looking at wildlife.

Periwinkle capped mushrooms clustered in the woods. This original wood block print was inspired by the delight of discovering hundreds of mushrooms popping up in the woods during a rainy summer and fall. This is #6 in a series of prints that I call "The Year of the Mushroom." I use oil based inks and lightweight, acid free printmaking papers. Due to the nature of hand block-printing, there are variations between each print. Each signed original ships in a sturdy mailer. A lovely gift for a mycologist, naturalist, mushroom forager or anyone who enjoys the small wonders in life. Image dimensions: 4"x6" Paper: 8"x10"
About The Artwork This composition of two figures resembles the dynamic of a weightless existence. There is no deeper explanation about the situation and I leave it up to the viewer to decide in which context the figures exist. I mixed a cool grey for this limited edition of 5 pieces, made of cobalt, white and a tone of black. The figures come in a metallic tine but still have a very massive presence related to the colour the structure of the wood and the strong direction of the fibres of the wood. I wish that the viewer sees positive centred dynamic within the composition that is close to the centre of a knot. The Brecon Beacons is inspired by my love of walking in Wales. As a printmaker living in Wales I love walking and cycling through the natural and industrial landscape, and find it inspiring for the designs of my lino prints. To create a print, I work first on the design using photographs and sketches. Then I transfer my design directly onto a block of lino, and hand carve the image using lino tools. Next, using a roller, I apply ink to the lino. Finally, I carefully lay paper over the lino and print by hand, using the back of a spoon or a small barren. I repeat the printing process at least 25 times to produce a limited or open edition of the image and then sign each print by hand. Each of the prints in the edition is an original work of art, not a reproduction. The nature of the hand-made process means that there will be minor variations between prints. Please note: Copyright of the work is retained by the artist.

This cute little print uses Gelli Plate Printmaking to create the abstract and textural background. Then a linocut of a carousel was overprinted to give it some structure and personality! Your print is hand made and lovingly printed in San Jose, California. Each print is unique and the colors may vary slightly from the image. This print would be lovely in any room of your home, and because of its small size, can fit among other artwork salon-style or stand alone in a small space. Cheer up a bathroom or nursery with the brightly colored abstract designs. Your print is mounted on an 8x10" archival board, and only needs to be popped into a frame to hang up! I hope you love this print as much as I do!
About The Artwork Somewhere at the bottom of my nights this is a line from a poem by the Ukrainian poet of the 1960s, Ivan Drach. The first ideas for the works were created while studying in Israel, as an attempt to get to know people or destroy myths about Ukrainian culture. The medium of communication became the poetry of the Ukrainian sixties, which is little known there. In my work, I often turn to simple, naive motifs, images of various fictional, often zoomorphic characters. Such visual images easily arise from poems rich in aphorisms and metaphors. So later the idea turned into a full-fledged project. Works of their kind conduct a constant dialogue with poetry. The surrealism of some characters draws a line between the fictional, dreamy and real world.
