Good Friday everyone! I am joining in two different challenges today after receiving some new goodies from The Greetery earlier this week. First is the Try Stamping on Tuesday challenge which has a sketch. Next up is the Seize the Birthday challenge which has an off the edge theme. My large circle element was placed "off the edge" then trimmed to fit the A2 tapestry base. The new Rose Tapestry stencil set is SEW MUCH FUN (sorry...couldn't resist a pun!) and this time I used shades of the coral color family (an earlier post used shades of pink). My mother was an avid seamstress and quilter and she would have loved this card if she had not passed away in 2010. STAMPS: Stitched Sentiments (The Greetery). INK: Meadow, Key Lime, Olive, Sunkissed, Mimosa, Mango Sorbet, Fruit Punch (dye inks by Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne. PAPER: Stampers Select White, Classic Kraft, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Metallic silver and gold. DIES: Stitched Sentiments, Aida Cloth Texture Plate, Notionable, Hoopla Oval (The Greetery). Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! Enjoy your day! ~Wanda

In 1967, using cardboard and wood that he found on the streets, Robert Coutelas (1930-1985) began his “Cartes” a series of playing-card-sized paintings with rounded corners The cards, like tarot cards were covered in mystical, symbolic designs. Though he courted commercial success by exhibiting and entering competitions he always abandoned it. In 1973 Robert won a contest run by the playing-card maker Grimaud but he refused to have his works marketed by them, a gallery offered to sell them if he created larger versions and Andre Malraux, former French Minister of Cultural Affairs, showed interest in 1975, Coutelas was told to write to him, he didn’t.
