Ashbridge natural stone veneer is a Wisconsin quarried granite sawn into 1” thick thin stone veneer. The stone has shades of reds, pinks, blues, greys, and an occasional black. Ashbridge has beautiful veining that only natural granite can produce. The stone is sawed to heights of 2.25”, 5”, and 7.75” for a clean and formal look. As glaciers moved through the state of Wisconsin, they left rich granite deposits. Ashbridge is cut from large boulders that are quarried from the glacial deposits. Ashbridge is quarried from the same glacial deposits as our Fieldstone Cobbles product. The smaller pieces are used as cobbles and the large pieces are split and sawn to make the rectangular stones for Ashbridge.
Background Story: Back in 2012, In order to meet my fundraising goal for a charity, I have decided to give myself a challenge and try sell original watercolor postcards for donations. All of the postcards are drawn on-site, as I wanted to keep the challenge as authentic as possible. The subject for each postcard is of places of interest around Toronto. This is a limited edition giclée print of Postcard 16: Ashbridge’s Bay Park One of my favorite places to be during Summer time! One of the main attractions of Ashbridge’s Bay Park is the boardwalk that spans the border of the park. I went during the morning and caught the amazing rays from the sun. On my latest visit to the Toronto Archives and the Toronto Public Library Archives, I found some very interesting photos of the Toronto sewer system and those who worked on it.

The research seeks to develop improvements to earthen architecture practices with a focus on shelter disaster risk reduction in areas that are subject to an array of water related concerns. The work aims to investigate the efficiency of earthen solutions exploring the opportunity to use earth appropriately within low-income housing and offering construction improvements. The intention is not to provide new alternatives but offer low-cost improvements based on successful existing practices that can be adopted by individuals and families with limited assets.
The Beaches Neighbourhood The Beach was first settled by the Ashbridge family who came to Canada from Philadelphia, in 1793. Ashbridge’s Bay Park is named after these pioneers. The Ashbridges, and a handful of other families, farmed this district until the latter part of the 1800’s, when many of The Beach properties were subdivided. At that time, large parcels of land were set aside for local parks. Woodbine, Kew Gardens, Scarboro, Balmy Beach and Victoria Park collectively became Toronto’s playgrounds by the lake. These amusement parks also attracted many summer cottagers to the area.By the 1920’s, the City of Toronto was expanding eastward and The Beach was subdivided for year round residential development. Over the years The Beach has emerged as one of Toronto’s most popular neighbourhoods.

The body is NOT grain filled, allowing us to spray the finish thinner. This process removes a few ounces of weight, gives the body more resonance, shows off the beautiful wood grain patterns under the nitro finish, and looks super cool!Due to the thinner finish, the body will age more quickly than our standard bodies.
