Here are my pics for Isla Rose’s bathroom reveal! It was so incredible to work with Alice Lane to bring the vision to life. A few highlights I talked about in my Instagram stories the other night: -A vintage rug from Alice Lane -Double vanities (in case Isla Rose gets a sister!) -A cute pull-out stool shelf for when Isla Rose brushes her teeth -A clawfoot bathtub from Crosswater (gifted) -Whimsical light fixtures from Kate Spade Sconces -Paint by Benjamin Moore You can see a bunch more details in this post from Alice Lane Interiors. We curated a timeless French style in soft blushes and neutrals. I love that it can grow and evolve with Isla Rose and (fingers crossed!) her little sister down the road. I loved sharing a bathroom with my sister growing up, so I wanted to create the same feel for Isla Rose. Thank you for all your requests and house feedback! I’m so happy about how everything is coming along with the new spaces. Be sure to tag me on Instagram with your questions.
This is the CB&Q's westbound Afternoon Zephyr near Chadwick, IL on a warm August 1964 afternoon. I'm standing on a one lane wooden bridge. The corn is as high as an elephant's eye. The Zephyr is not combined with the North Coast Limited and\or Empire Builder. Four dome cars and the first one looks like Silver Dome. The track is flat, straight or superelevated with jointed rail. It's CTC across Northern Illinois. Those code lines make that work. That E7 is nineteen years old but in great shape. I bet the speedometer has grazed over 100 a few times. Wisssh!

We do not know what we would have done if there were an adult Taylor Kitsch in our high school. See how old these stars actually were when they played high schoolers
In the US, there is a gigantic supermarket seemingly everywhere you look. A Wal-Mart Super-Center on one corner, a Costco on the other… but it wasn’t always this way. The transition from small town grocer or big-city corner market to the massive mega-stores of today took decades, and the ramifications changed our world more than … Continue reading "‘Pile it High, Sell it Low’: The Saga of the Supermarket"

The Ronnie Lane Memorial Concert. Royal Albert Hall, London. 8 April 2004 For anyone up to speed with the tragic trajectory of Ronnie Lane, the circumstances surrounding his May 2004 Memorial Concert, 'One For The Road', struck a familiar chord. The diminutive East Ender's impressive solo work and central role in two iconic British bands
With five upcoming films, things are getting pretty hot for Amy Adams. These outtakes from her photo shoot for the October issue capture the heat.
1999–2001, The WB. Ryan Murphy's television debut explored the same themes he would later plow more successfully on Glee — showing the humanity of both the popular kids and the unpopular kids in high school, and forcing them to begin to understand each other. In Popular's case, two girls on the opposite end of the popularity spectrum unexpectedly become stepsisters and have to deal with it by...wait for it...becoming friends. Sort of. But also fighting a lot. The show featured a bevy of pretty gals: Leslie Bibb, Carly Pope, Sara Rue, and Melissa Etheridge's wife Tammy Lynn Michaels.

Ah, yes. The High School Dance. A source of much anxiety, subtle humiliation, and maybe even a little fun. For some reason, they are defining moments in our high school memories. Perhaps, it’s because so much stock was put in them back then – your self-esteem and popularity depended on this oh-so-important evening. Adding to … Continue reading "Teens Behaving Awkwardly: A Look at the 1970s High School Dance"
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show has been canceled this year as the company works to save its reputation after plummeting ratings and years of backlash over its lack of diversity.
August 22, 2018 Just got word from our friend John Bianchi, that the star of one of my favorite TV shows growing up, "26 Men," just turned 95! Kelo Henderson, "26 Men" According to John, Kelo is still kickin' and still havin' fun. Amazing. Kelo Henderson, John Bianchi and Chris Alcaide, 1996 John Bianchi who owns Frontier Gunleather in Rancho Mirage, California, did the gun rigs for Kelo and they have been good friends for the past 25 years. "Twenty-six men, who lived to ride again, they rode the Arizona Territory. . .saddle up, saddle up, saddle up. . ." —Theme Song to "26 Men"
The rear entrance to New College is in New College Lane, Oxford. The lane is largely surrounded by high stone walls with few windows. Despite its name, New College is one of the oldest of the Oxford colleges, having originally been founded in 1379. The second college in Oxford to be dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, it was founded by William of Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester as "The College of St Mary of Winchester in Oxford". New College was originally established for the education of priests, there being a shortage of properly educated clergy after the Black Death. The gate leads to the innovative late 14th century quadrangle.
