They need to colour in pictures that begin with a given sound and are also asked to read and copy some CVC words using the new letter. Later on they are also encouraged to write some captions. Throughout the book children are collecting stars for their good work. The adult working with the child can come up with an agreement as to what the child will get as a reward for collecting stars i.e. a new book or a trip to the zoo. The activity book is finished off with a Star Learner Certificate. These can of course be used as individual worksheets. Have fun teaching and learning!
