It was 1965, headed back to the U.S.A from an annual trip to the bullfights in Sonora, Mexico, Don Chambers and his friends stopped at a local Cantina. When they entered, a patron asked the waitress, "Who are those guys?" The waitress answered, "That's DC and his American Bandidos" - hence the name. In March of 1966 THE BANDIDOS MOTORCYCLE CLUB was born. The Houston Chapter or Mother Chapter was soon followed by the Southwest Houston Chapter. A year later, riding back from that annual trip as full patch Bandidos, a problem occurred with the Federales in Mexico and a Bandido "Sunshine" was killed. He was the first Bandido killed and that was the last time the Bandidos went to Mexico. With hundreds of chapters across THE USA, Central and South America, and thousands of members with a worldwide following, the Bandido Nation is strong and thriving. In the years that followed, the Bandidos MC spread world-wide to more that 80 countries, but as time wore on, differences of opinion between the United States, Europe and Australia about the club values and definitions, prompted changes to be made. It was discussed at the annual Chapter Presidents Meeting in February 2006, there it was decided by 100 vote to set Europe, Asia, free to follow their own path. On July 17th, 2007, the club was split. Though we share a common name and a similar patch, we are no longer associated with the Bandidos MC in Europe, Asia and Australia. Leaving us to get back to our roots, embodying the true meaning of Motorcyclism. Today the Bandidos Motorcycle Club is the largest 1% club in the Western Hemisphere, with 1100 members in Northers, Central and South American Countries.

Grundades i USA Bandidos är en hierarkiskt uppbyggd organisation som grundades i Texas i mars 1966 av Vietnamveteraner. Hells Angels var förebilden. Till skillnad från Hells Angels är dock Bandidos toppstyrt. Högst upp finns Bandidos Motherchapter i Texas med presidenten George Wegers. Support X-team Grundades som supporterklubb till Bandidos. X-team är inte en mc-klubb. Bandidos klubbar kallas chapters. Motherchapter, den klubb som startades först, finns alltså i Texas. Europeiskt motherchapter är Bandidos i Marseille, Frankrike. I Danmark ligger sedan 1996 Bandidos MC Europe som leder verksamheten i Europa och Sydostasien under presidenten Jim Tinndahn. Avdelningen består av medlemmar från flera europeiska länder. Alla medlemmar godkänns av National Chapter och dit betalas också en avgift på 47 euro per medlem, probationary, prospect eller hang-around varje månad. I Sverige finns fem Bandidosklubbar med fullvärdig status. Mc-klubb som vill bli medlem blir först hangaroundklubb. Därefter kan klubben nå högre status och kallas då probationary som den i Ludvika. Varje chapter består av minst fem medlemmar (enbart män) och leds av en president, vice president, en sekreterare, en kassör, en sergeant in arms (som svarar för klubbhusets säkerhet m m) och en road captain (som ser till att alla medlemmar följer klubbens lagar som att köra Harley Davidson). Den som vill bli medlem i klubben går igenom flera steg - supporter, hangaround, prospect och probationary - under vilka han ska visa sig värdig att bli en broder. Från hangaroundstadiet betalas avgift till klubben. Den som vill nå medlemskap måste visa sin lojalitet och att Bandidos kommer före sådant som flickvänner och familj. Det betyder att supportrarna får hålla vakt, handla mat, städa, fungera som chaufför åt medlemmarna och stå till deras förfogande 24 timmar per dygn. Förutom medlemmar anslutna till klubbar på olika orter finns ett antal medlemmar med Nomad-status. De är placerade i avdelningar som behöver stöd. Nomad chapter har inget klubbhus men en postadress i Helsingborg. Banditer nära dig?
