Gira Table Lamp by Santa and Cole Barcelona, Spain design by J.M. Massana, J.M. Tremoleda, Mariano Ferrer, 1978 A base, an arm, a shade; a square, a line, a cone; steel, brass, aluminum; and the magic of light. Gira sums up the basic components of a lamp. These have been reconfigured based on the traditional flexible reading lamp, to allow flexibility of movement. The design is simple, while versatile in function: featuring a rotating arm and an adjustable shade. It can form localized beams of light for working, reading or writing; in a room, a hotel lobby or an office. Look at it once, then try and sketch it from memory. The Gira lamp portrays the simplicity and distinct profile of a classic. It is an inherent part of Barcelona's design history. Created in 1978 by Ferrer, Massana and Tremoleda, it was originally produced by Mobles114 an editing company founded by Massana and Tremoleda. It achieved international acclaim, receiving awards and places in exhibitions all over the world. However, what truly distinguishes Gira lies in its functionÔĺóa unique ability to foster an intimate connection between the user, the light and its surroundings. Santa & Cole has reedited this classic of Spanish design with an anodized aluminum shade available in black and natural, and a brass shade. Wearing History Sophie - 1899 French Jacket E-pattern Sizes 30" Bust- 46" Bust, all in one size packet. This listing is for an E-Pattern to print yourself at home on your home printer's USA letter and A4 sized paper. This also includes A0 size for copy shop printing. Many thanks to Sophia Khan for the beautiful photos of her in her jacket she made. You can find her on Instagram at http://Instagram.com/Sophia_khan/ --- DESCRIPTION --- ~ Upper Intermediate to Advanced Difficulty ~ An elegant jacket, from the year 1899, that is ideal for late Victorian, early Edwardian, and steampunk looks. This jacket has a flared Medici collar with petal detail, circular cuffs, and scalloped hem. The jacket may be accented by rows of top-stitching. Works well in wool, linen, or cotton for both the fashionable lady or the lady adventurer. This pattern originally appeared in La Mode Illustree in the year 1899. While based on an original pattern and while this pattern follows the original silhouette very closely, this pattern has had significant improvements to make it more user-friendly for today’s dressmaker. This pattern has been trued up from the original pattern and includes the addition of multi-sizes, seam allowance, grain lines, notches, facing pieces, and pattern markings which were not originally included. This pattern has been supplemented with my illustrations and text to make basic, untailored construction easier to comprehend. Basic lining instructions are included, but are not in-depth. If you desire more tailoring or lining instruction, it is suggested to supplement this pattern with a book that instructs tailored garment construction. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE A MOCK UP TO TEST PATTERN FIT AND CONSTRUCTION BEFORE CUTTING INTO YOUR FASHION FABRIC. Fit and construction of this garment is more complex than the majority of garments made today. Test the construction and fit first in a cheap mock up fabric, since the fit and construction of garments from the 19th century are so VASTLY different than garments today. The fit is unchanged from the original 19th century source material. This was originally designed to be worn over period foundations, including corsets, of the period. The fit of the finished garment, however, does not have the exaggerated bust/waist ratio of many period garments and can easily be adjusted to wear for modern wear, without corset, in the mock up phase - SIZING - All sizes below are included in these e-pattern files. This pattern was meant to be very fitted over the bust. Very little ease is included if you want more ease, or desire to wear it over a full blouse, consider cutting a size larger. Bust 30 - 32 - 34 - 36 - 38 - 40 - 42 - 44 - 46 Waist 24 - 26 - 28 - 30 - 32 - 34 - 36 - 38 - 40 This pattern is meant to be very fitted at the waist and has very little ease. If you are between sizes, cut the next size next larger. - HOW TO USE THIS E-PATTERN - YOU WILL NEED ADOBE READER, A FREE PDF READER PROGRAM, IN ORDER TO OPEN AND PRINT THIS PATTERN. To assure the best fit possible, please refer to my INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS by copying and pasting the following address into your browser: http://contrapunt.weebly.com/taking-measurements.html Once you’ve taken your measurements, please paste them into the “Note” box on the Order page. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ How to choose a STANDARD SIZE? I can make standard sizes S, M, L, or XL with small adjustments to better fit you. Sizes are a tricky issue, and there aren’t any hard and fast rules, but I’d say my list of sizes is more European than American. To assure the best fit possible, please refer to my INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS by copying and pasting the following address into your browser: http://contrapunt.weebly.com/taking-measurements.html The best way to know your size is to take some measurements of yourself and use them to gauge your size. I can also modify a pattern to better fit your measurements. For example: You choose size S (Europe 40-42). If your body is closer to the first number, 86 (Upper bust/Torax 86-88 cm), than the second, 88, please tell me. Otherwise, the pattern will be the standard size S of between 86-88 cm for the upper bust. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ All sizes, both standard and custom, can be modified to your liking (for example, waist higher or lower; skirt longer, shorter, wider, narrower, unpleated, etc.). A dress can be made as either one or two pieces such as a blouse and skirt, for instance. Please specify any of these alterations by email, or at the bottom of the form “Taking measurements”. This is a multi-size (8-piece) pattern for the men's 1950's trousers available in Size set A, fitting 33" to 37" waist or size set B is available for 39" to 43" waist-see options. Originally a French pattern, the front of the trousers are double-pleated at the front. English instructions are included with illustrations, but original French text is also included. This, as do many of my patterns comes with fully illustrated instructions for construction and finishing. I have rated this pattern advanced as working with it requires some basic tailoring knowledge and partial or full trouser lining. 5/8" seams are given. This is a digital reproduction drafted from the original pattern pieces. All of my patterns are full size on 18-lb translucent bond paper and in stock as I print them on demand. This bond paper is sturdy enough that it doesn't tear like pattern tissue, yet it is light enough to see and cut through easily enough. Each pattern comes in a lie-flat plastic sleeve for protection. The trousers are shown here with the 1954 vest. Pattern available here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/484035898/1954-vest-size-42-chest-evadress-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_1 Celebrating OVER 20 years of bringing you accurately reproduced and multi-size vintage patterns! Upon request, I am happy to furnish an additional schematic showing where to adjust the pattern pieces with instructions on how to re-size the pattern.
