Epicon: A luxury coastal destination in NEOM, Saudi Arabia, redefining architecture and hospitality standards.
The group might be best known for its splendid high-rise luxury hotels, but the Park Hyatt Jeddah, on the city’s coastal South Corniche, takes a different tack. This Park Hyatt is strictly a low-rise affair, with perhaps a more leisurely bent than some of its cousins. Given the location, it’s not out of the question that you’re here on, shall we say, higher business, as Mecca is less than an hour’s drive away. To give it its full name, it’s technically the Park Hyatt Jeddah Marina, Club & Spa, and it earns every word; it’s tucked between the coastal boulevard and the water, with yachts docking along its piers, and during the day there’s something of a private-club atmosphere as hotel guests mingle with locals visiting the day spa or the Park Hyatt’s restaurants. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and the style, though sophisticated, is also quite thoroughly localized, the architecture and design tailored to suit Jeddah’s particular visual language. The rooms and suites are spacious, with open-plan bathrooms and, in most cases, views of the Red Sea, and all are decorated in a clean and elegant contemporary style. For business travelers it’s certainly more than suitable, a short enough drive from Jeddah’s central business district. But one gets the impression this Park Hyatt aims to be something more like an urban resort; not one but two spas serve hotel guests, one for men and one for women. How to get there: Park Hyatt Jeddah is located in Jeddah's Al Hamra (business) district, just minutes away from the central business district. The hotel is 35 minutes (by car) from King Abdulaziz International Airport. Please contact [email protected] for assistance with airport transfers.
