We're halfway through My Favorite Things December Release Countdown and today I'm sharing a "new home" card with the Meant to Bee stamp set. The honeycomb background was partially white embossed on watercolor card stock and ink distressed with several colors of Distress inks, then spattered with water. It was trimmed with the stitched rectangle die and adhered to a Primitive Cream card base. The bees and hive were colored with Copics and cut with the matching dies. I stamped the heart shaped trail and adhered the bees and popped up the beehive. The sentiment was stamped on a yellow strip and adhered to the card. Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks at the December release, and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize. Thanks for stopping by today!

As for most od the July I will be away from sewing machine and visiting my family I decied to already sew the next Pastiche bee block. July is Krista's month and she chose Rex Ray art as inspiration for the blocks. I didn't know this artist before and was amazed by his graphic designs. Great colour combinations, lots of curves and various shapes. Wonderful topic for a bee. You can see all his art pieces HERE. Szczegolnie spodobala mi sie ta praca: This one became one of my favourites from the first moment I saw it: source And I decided to sew a block based on that graphic. Krista asked for black fabric as a part of a block as something which would connect all bee blocks which she will get, so I made a black background. Pity that I don't have any shot cottons. They would be great for sewing this block (I know that there are still some blue marks from washable marker, which obviously I have to wash away before sending the block). Piecing curves was tricky. It took me ages to prepare tempates (EQ7 somehow didn't want to cooperate with me this time) and cut all the fabrics, but sewing was a challenge. And I like challenges! I really, really like this block. It looks super cool for me and I hope Krista will be happy :) No i postanowilam uszyc moj blok wlasnie na podstawie tej pracy.
William Heath Robinson (1872 – 1944) was an English illustrator and cartoonist, best known for his drawings of complicated machines for achieving simple objectives. “Heath Robinson Contraption” is a phrase that entered the language during WW1 in Britain, and later in the United States. William wrote and illustrated three highly successful children’s books (The Adventures of Uncle Lubin 1902, Bill the Minder 1912, Peter Quip in Search of a Friend 1933) as well as illustrating numerous others. In the run up to WW1, Robinson became known for a series of drawings in magazines such as The Sketch and The Tatler, many of which I will be featuring in this comprehensive look at his work. This is part 12 of a 20 – part series on the works of W. Heath Robinson 1914 A Midsummer Night's Dream: Cover Title Page Frontispiece Theseus. Now, fair Hippolyta, our nuptial hour Draws on apace.
