"Timeline" (2022) is a short story written by Lydia Mattson as part of her final thesis exhibition. The narrative provides a speculative account of the author's life as it relates to family, art, career, and technology. Mattson wrote the story with support from her intro creative writing class, and designed the book with production assistance from Paper Machine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Copies of "Timeline" were displayed and freely available to attendants of the 2022 BFA Thesis Show at Tulane University, held in the Carroll Gallery from May 12-20th.

82% of students nationwide who identify as LGBTQ were bullied in the last year based on their sexual orientation alone. Don't ever let anybody make you feel like the waste of space you aren't. This image is a precursor to my Spring 2016 BFA thesis show on self-stigmatization. Wanting to belong in society but fearing the position of the "other", a social space in which one is misunderstood, isolated, devalued, and dehumanized based on what makes them different. I've been putting all my time and effort into this series of 20 images for my thesis show and I would love your input! Have you ever fallen victim to stigma? thoughts, Ideas, comments, advice for the future of this project. Anything you would like to see in this body of work? Message me or leave a comment below and I will read and reply!
