A fun and simple Jesus Heals the Blind Man craft activity for kindergarten & preschoolers for home, Sunday School or Bible Class lesson.
Lesson Plans Alphabet: Bb Colors/shapes: The Shape House Theme: Homes Bible: Creation Day One Gross Motor: Bubble-wrap Bounce Bop Sensory: Homemade Finger Paint Alphabet: Letter of the Week Box: bear, bowl, buttons, beads, book, black bat, boat, blue bucket, brush, baseball, block, bird Bb Snack: Banana Bb Craft: Buttons on letter B Bb Activities: Blowing Bubbles and Bubble-wrap Bounce Bop E enjoyed going through all the Bb items in the box. {*Funny side note: when he took the bat out I said,"that is a /b/ /b/ /b/ bat." He looked at me puzzled and said, "no es a eagle!" I chuckled and said, it looks like an eagle (with its opened wings) but it's a bat." He looked at me and said, "ok mommy." Then walked over to the baseball and swung the black bat at it!! I laughed and laughed and said, "it's not a baseball bat it's an animal bat." I was not quite sure how to explain that one! Makes sense, since the only "bat" he knew was a baseball bat!} :) Once we talked about all the Bb items we made a Bb craft. I drew a big B on a piece of card stock and had E glue buttons on the B. The next day we reviewed Bb and went out and blew bubbles. E loves bubbles! Theme: This week we talked about all the different types of homes. Homes for animals and for people. We made the Shape House. This is a fun activity to review colors and shapes! We read these books: Who Lives Here is about animal homes. My House/Mi Casa discusses all the rooms and parts of a home, as well as, the different types of homes people live in. Bible: Memory Verse of the Month: "in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth." Genesis 1:1 Memory Verse Song: "God is Creator" by Seeds Family Worship We are continuing to talk about that God is Creator. This week we focused on the first day of creation. On day one of creation God said, "Let there be light,"and there was light. We listened to the memory verse song as E placed the white tissue squares on the black card stock paper. {In advanced I precut the tissue paper squares and used a utility (Exacto) knife to cute squares on the black card stock paper.} once all the tissue squares were on the paper we shined the flash light through the holes. You can also hold the card stock paper up to a light or window. Gross Motor: I bought a roll of bubble wrap at the dollar store, brought it home and rolled it out on the living room floor. E loved this activity! He bounced, ran up and down, rolled around on it and tried to pop the bubbles. I found "The Bounce Song", by Kids Tv 123 on UTube. We played the song over and over as he bounced and bopped! He seriously played with it all week long! I eventually tapped it down with masking tape so it wouldn't bunch up. This was a perfect letter Bb activity. Sensory: We ended the week making a batch of finger paint. This recipe was VERY easy and QUICK! I found this recipe on Pinterest by Easie Peasie: 3 tbs sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup corn starch 2 cups water Combine ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until mixture thickens. Cool, pour in small containers and the add food coloring. Enjoy! Thank you for your support and stopping by! Hope these activities inspire you! We have had an EXPLOSION of KIDDOS recently!! This is such an exciting time for our congregation. We have a "CRADLE ROLL" class....This class has normally had about five KIDDOS...and recently blossomed to nine KIDDOS. This created a "problem" because our Cradle Roll Table only sits eight KIDDOS. This is a wonderful "PROBLEM" to have. It did cause a bit of, "WHAT shall we do to solve this 'PROBLEM?'" moments. So, the elders decided it would be best to divide the CRADLE ROLL class and move out the Toddlers and form a NEW class for the TODDLER AGE. I am SO excited about this NEW CLASS. Several of us volunteered to help "SET" up and DECORATE the NEW Classroom. The teachers wanted to make sure the classroom was an EXCITING PLACE for their KIDDOS. Please understand this is a WORK in PROGRESS. We began working on the room after Wednesday Evening Services....and due to the weather we have yet to really complete it....but, I think I LOOKS pretty good and the KIDDOS were SUPER excited this past SUNDAY!!! I hope you noticed the SHELVES behind the table. (BTW, one of our elders built the table! I LOVE IT!!) Those shelves house MOST of the CURRICULUM for this class. We are calling these: "BUCKET BIBLE LESSONS." Each of the shallow BUCKETS have a DIFFERENT BIBLE LESSON in it. I will do my best to explain our PLANS for these lessons. By the way, the buckets came from DOLLAR TREE. When the KIDDOS first arrive the teachers will use these two buckets. The KIDDOS will "DRIVE" to Bible Class as they sing "This is the way we DRIVE to Class." --using the steering wheels. Then they will use the clocks and sing, "It's Time For Bible Class." (I collected these vehicles years ago via McDonalds Toddler Toys.) Then they will use the Planes, Boats and Vehicles to sing, "Did You Come to Class today in a BOAT?" (The boats came from Dollar Tree. The Airplanes came from Walmart Baby Section.) Then the teachers will use this BUCKET and pass our the ROOSTERS. The KIDDOS will sing, "BOOSTER, BOOSTER..." (The roosters came from DOLLAR TREE--years ago. The Pot Holder Rooster came from a garage sale.) Then the teachers will use this BUCKET. They will use the TRAINS as they sing, "Choo-Choo Train Bible Song." Then the KIDDOS will be handed a BIBLE...they will sing SEVERAL songs about the Bible. Especially "READ YOUR BIBLE and PRAY EVERY DAY." The teacher will also use this VISUAL to demonstrate the TWO TESTAMENTS and the number of BOOKS in each Testaments. (The trains came from Walmart. I have collected these Bibles from Garage Sales and Thrift Stores. We made the Bible Visual.) If the teacher chooses to teach about CREATION or Adam and Eve they will use this bucket. Each KIDDO will get an EARTH when they are singing about CREATION. Each KIDDOS will get an ADAM and EVE when they sing about ADAM and EVE. (I have collected these EARTH BALLS from Garage Sales and Thrift Stores. I drew and colored the Adam and Eve Puppets.) This bucket goes along with the CREATION bucket. However, we have several songs about FLOWERS...so, we gave the flowers their own bucket. (Flowers came from the Dollar Tree.) This is the NOAH'S ARK Bucket. The KIDDOS will get a TOOL when they sing songs about building the ARK. Then they will get an ANIMAL when they are singing songs about the ANIMALS on the ARK. Their are UNCOLORED ARK/RAINBOW fans in the bottom of this bucket. The teachers plan to get them colored soon. (The tools came from Oriental Trading Company. The Animals came from a Noah's Ark Set. The Rainbow Fan came from Hobby Lobby.) This is the MOSES BUCKET. Each KIDDO will get a baby MOSES, BASKET and blanket. Then they will sing songs about Baby Moses. (The dolls came from HOBBY LOBBY....YEARS AGO. Sadly, I cannot find them any longer. But, I noticed the DOLLAR TREE has some sweet Baby Dolls in their GIRL'S Section. The baskets are from an old EASTER EGG decorating kit. The blankets were hand made.) In the bottom of the MOSES BUCKET is FROGS. The KIDDOS will have a frog as they sing songs about the PLAGUES on EGYPT. (My sister gave me these frogs years ago!!) This is the Joshua and Judges Bucket. The HORNS are to be used when they sing songs about Joshua and Jericho. The Palm Trees are for use during the songs about DEBORAH the Judge. The finger PUPPET is RUTH. (We are still working to expand this bucket with other stories.--I bought several DONKEYS today at the DOLLAR TREE so that they can use those while SINGING about Balaam.) I will try to update pics at a later date. (The Palm Trees came from Dollar Tree. The HORNS came from Dollar Tree. The Finger Puppets came from Oriental Trading Company.) This is the Jonah BUCKET. Each KIDDOS will have a whale as they sing songs about Jonah. (The whales were a gift from my sister. Again, they were given to me years ago.) This is the Daniel Bucket. Each KIDDO will get a Daniel and a Lion to use as they sing songs about Daniel. (The Daniel Finger Puppets came from Oriental Trading Company. The Lions came from Walmart.) This is the NEHEMIAH and EZRA BUCKET. The KIDDOS will REBUILD the WALLS as they sing songs about EZRA and NEHEMIAH. We already have a few new items to add to this bucket....I will take more pics soon. (The Tools came from Oriental Trading Company. The WALLS are from the set of Castle Blocks that I purchased to build the Temple and the City of Jerusalem.) This is the LIFE of JESUS BUCKET. There are several objects in this BUCKET. There are: BABY JESUS. GROWN JESUS. CROSSES. JESUS with CHILDREN STICKS. (The teachers will be coloring these soon.) This BUCKET will be used while singing songs about Baby Jesus. Adult Jesus. The Cross. Jesus and Children. (The Baby Jesus and Adult Jesus finger puppets came from Oriental Trading Company. The Crosses came from Hobby Lobby. The Jesus and Little Children sticks came from Hobby Lobby.) We call this one LIVING for JESUS BUCKET. There are HEARTS, Battery Powered Candles, Happy Face Balls, and Church Buildings. We have songs that go with each of those items. (Happy Face Balls came from Hobby Lobby. The Foamy Church Buildings came from Hobby Lobby. The Battery Powered Candles are from the Dollar Tree. The Hearts are from Big Lots---they are about 15 years old.) This is a basket full of FUN FISH. There are so many uses for these FISH. However, on of the KIDDOS favorite songs is, "ALL GOD'S FISH ARE SWIMMIN IN THE WATER." (The FISH came from Dollar Tree. Several Years ago.) This age group LOVES things that MOVE or MAKE noise. THIS basket is full of TEACHING TOYS. They are wind ups and (except the ROBIN.--she tweets when you hold her in your palm.) we have songs that go with each wind up toy. (I have collected these WIND up toys for years. I often find them at GARAGE SALES for pennies.) These are fun for this age group. The KIDDOS get to hold a songbook as they sing...They wont do this every week...but, they will do this once in a while. (These came from Dollar Tree. Several Years Ago.) I LOVE these Bible Characters!!! I am so happy to see them being put to use. I think they make this classroom look FUN and EXCITING!! We have some other ideas and plans for this room. I will try to post more pictures of this room and "BUCKET BIBLE LESSONS" as we EXPAND upon this idea. Blessings, Ronda

Everyone knows I love to shop Dollar Tree for Bible Class supplies. Well, I have found several fun items at Dollar Tree on recent trips. Please understand, Dollar Tree does not fund me or provide me any perks, special treatment or notoriety for sharing my Dollar Tree Finds. I simply share these to help my blog readers find fun and unique items for teaching Bible Class. I will share items that I saw and items I purchased. I will share my Bible Class ideas for each of the item. I LOVED these cute FRUIT STICKERS!!! I purchased a few packages. They will be great for when the KIDDOS have lessons on the Fruit of The Spirit. I saw these frames...they would be great for Bible Verse Displays, Classroom Pictures of the Kiddos, or even Visual Aid Displays. I did not purchase them at this time....but, I will remember they have them if I need them!! I found packages of snakes and frogs with gators. The little snakes are useful for several Bible Stories. The frogs are great for the Ten Plagues!!! I also saw some bigger snakes that would be great for the Garden of Eden story or painted golden for the Brazen Serpent story. I saw these sets of plastic food. I think they would serve for the story of Daniel and his friends refusing to eat the King's Fancy Foods. They would also be great for younger KIDDOS lessons on GOD MADE... I LOVE these SAND MOLDS!!! I think they would be great for the WALLS of JERICHO, WALLS of JERUSALEM, etc. They also had one that you could paint gold for the TEMPLE!!! Right across the aisle was some doll house furniture. Their are several stories that can make use of the doll house furniture. For example: the BED is great for the story of Samuel, when GOD calls him, plus several other Bible Stories as well!! I LOVE it when Dollar Tree gets these "little Bible Characters" in their stores. These are great for telling the related Bible Story. They are great for little hands to use and they are fun for creative play retelling of the story by the KIDDOS. Those little rubber ducks are great for the YOUNGER KIDDOS. We have a song that goes with them: "I'm a little yellow duck and GOD made me!" I LOVE to do ABC Bible Memory Verses!!! These are great as Memory Reward ideas or as Memory Verse Review Games!! They have both Blocks and Magnetic Letters. Craft Supplies!!! We always need CRAFT Supplies!!! And do you see that VELCRO???? I am always needing VELCRO!!!! Ping Pong Balls are great for any review that is a LIST!! Books of The Bible, Days of Creation, Sons of Jacob, Plagues, Commandments, Judges, Kings, Fruit of the Spirit, and sooooo many more!!!! The back packs are fun if you need a way to get items HOME and BACK again!!! You could give each child one to decorate for themselves. I LOVE VINYL Letters!! These are great for POSTERS, BULLETIN BOARDS, etc!! It makes it quick and easy when needing to put a TITLE on something!! I saw these in their School Supply area. They are great for an item you want the KIDDOS to be able to draw on....and not ruin!!! They are especially handy if you do not have a laminator these are a valuable item!!! I bought a few of these and plan to make them into a REVIEW "game" for a few lessons. I BOUGHT these STICKERS and The Dental Floss...One of our teachers was needing TEETH for a lesson on an Eye for an Eye and a Tooth for a Tooth.....these Dental Floss Containers worked PERFECTLY!!!! I purchased several HOUSE SHAPED puzzles. They will be used when I get back around to the story of JOSHUA...As for Me and My House!!! I bought the big FOAM DICE....I have already used them for a QUESTION/ANSWER game. The Plastic zipper pockets are for organizing a few things in my classroom files. I was soooo excited to find these DOG TOY "STICKS." I bought the brown and tan ones....I then went to another Dollar Tree and purchased a few more....they will be GREAT for the story of Abraham offering Isaac or any story that has an altar in the story!! I love shopping at DOLLAR TREE!! I hope you found some of these ideas useful in your Bible Class Teaching efforts. Blessings Ronda

Lesson plans Alphabet: Letter Cc Numbers: 1 Colors: Red, Green, Yellow Theme: Apples Bible: Creation Day 2 Alphabet: Letter of the week box: camera, cup, comb, clock, calculator, crayon, candle, can, coin wallet with coins, cow, cookies, and car. Cc snack: corn We looked through the letter of the week box and talked about each item emphasizing the beginning sound. Ex: "That is a camera, /c/ /c/ /c/ camera." After E was done exploring with the letter Cc items we made the letter Cc craft. I added the glue on large C and my son E placed the cotton balls on it. Letter Cc Activities: Cotton-ball Toss: This is a simple game to put together. All you need is two cups and cotton balls. We played two versions. One version is to toss the cotton into the cups and second version is one person throws the cotton ball and the other person catches it in the cup. E enjoyed tossing it in the cup more then catching. E LOVED this sensory tub activity! I finally pulled out our sand and water table from storage and E enjoyed playing with the cars in the clouds! What's inside the sensory tub: -sky (water tinted with blue food coloring) -clouds (cotton balls and mounds of shaving cream) -small transparent cars from the dollar store -large plastic cup and small blue measuring cup. You don't need to add a lot of cotton balls to the sensory tub, because once they absorb the water they expand and stretch. As you can see in the picture above. Theme: E loves apples! He was excited about this week's theme. I bought different types of apples for him to see. I bought one red, green, pink and yellow apple. We talked about the different colors of apples and we cut them open to investigate the inside. I shared with him that apples have seeds inside and from those seeds new apples will grow. I cut one apple to show the "star" that hides inside. He thought that was "awesome." Then we cut some apples to eat! We dipped them in honey Greek yogurt...yum! Later in the day we made an apple craft. E had the sniffles this week so he wasn't too interested in the craft. He dabbed a few bingo dots on one, a couple yellow circle stickers on another and the last one was green paper that we ripped apart and glue on the paper plate. I then glued the stem and leaf on each apple. These apple prints were fun to make. E enjoyed not only making prints with the apples, but also loved sticking his feet and hands inside the homemade cornstarch sidewalk paint! This awesome idea and recipe is by Learn Play Imagine. You can get the recipe by clicking the link below: http://pinterest.com/pin/345721708866074696/ Sometimes you may plan an activity that your little one will not have much interest in and that's ok. That's what happened when I planned the apple color match activity. I placed three colors of apples (Pom Pom balls) in three sizes small, medium, and large in an apple shaped colander. The objective was to match the apples to the corresponding bowl color. E was not feeling well and just didn't care much for the activity. So I turned it into a sensory tub and he LOVED that! The sensory was soothing for him since he was not feeling well. There were cars inside the apple sensory tub too! Boys need to have cars! :) Field Trip: my ideal plan was to take E to an apple farm for him to pick apples, but the closest farm is 2.5 hours! It was not going to work this week to take E. especially since he was under the weather with the sniffles. So, we opted to take a trip to a friends house who has an apple tree in their back yard! It was perfect! E was able to see an apple tree close up and pick an apple. They had chickens too! Thanks friend! Numbers: We focused on number one this week. E glued one apple on the number one. The number one activity was to place one object (either a glass pebble, wooden bead, or a button) on the one green apple, the one red apple and the one yellow apple. This is one-to-one correspondence. Bible: Memory Verse of the Month: "in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth." Genesis 1:1 Memory Verse Song: "God is Creator" by Seeds Family Worship We are continuing to talk about that God is Creator. This week we focused on the second day of creation. On day two of creation God said, "Let there be a vault between the waters.." God called it "sky." We listened to the memory verse song as E helped me place the clouds and water on the blue card stock paper. {In advanced I precut the clouds and the water}. Wow, what a fun filled week! Next week our theme will be Fall leaves! I love this season, it's my favorite! Thank you for your support and stopping by! Hope these activities inspire you! There are many obstacles for parents to overcome when incorporating a preschooler into family devotion time. I am going to share with you what I have learned and how we began.
You have a room full of energetic tots with short attention spans and it's your job to help them learn about important people and concepts from the bible. One engaging way to keep your group’s attention is to turn the Sunday School lesson into a hands-on activity for those eager 2- and 3-year-olds.
Alphabet: Ee Math: counting 1-5, #3, shapes Theme: land transportation - cars Bible: creation day 4 Alphabet: Letter of the week box: envelope, egg, emerald, elephant, evergreen tree, flash cards Ee Snack: Egg My son was very interested in the egg object in the letter of the week box! First, I cracked the egg into a small bowl. I pointed out the parts of the egg: shell, egg yolk, and egg white. Shared with him that eggs come from chickens. Then I had him stir the egg with one of his small forks. I placed the egg in a small saucepan on the stove. I placed him on a high chair so he could see the egg cooking. But kept a close eye that he did not touch the burner! I let him stir the egg in the pan as well. Once the egg was done, I placed it on a plate for him to eat! As he ate the egg he watched Elle the elephant eat her eggs on the UTube video: "The E song", by KidsTv123 The video encouraged him to eat all the scrambled eggs! My son usually does not care for eggs ;) Ee Craft: E is for eggs Ee Activity: Sensory tub What's inside: elbow macaroni, three empty envelopes, three empty eggs, 4 eggs with evergreen trees, 4 envelopes with items starting with E (egg, eggplant, 11, and evergreen), and scoopers. My son loved to open the eggs and envelopes to find treasures inside. It was too cute when he would open an empty envelope or egg he would say, "Oh no! Missing!" I cut out four items that start with E (eggplant, eleven, evergreen, and egg) and placed them each inside an envelope. Has he opened an envelope he would match that item onto the outline. In advanced I traced each item on the card stock paper. Math: Number Activity and Counting Craft: counting with cars Shapes: truck Theme: Theme craft: shapely truck (see above in math) Theme activity: floor road made with masking tape. E loved driving the cars on the road. We discussed sizes of cars: small, medium or large. E balanced while walking on the road (not to veer off) and discussed directions: turn right, turn left or go straight. Theme Activity: sensory tub What's inside: Erupting soap: baking soda, water and blue food coloring. Mix and pour in muffin tin or container. Paint brush for washing Baking soda to sprinkle all over cars Squeeze bottles with vinegar Extra vinegar for pouring *the inspiration for this idea came from a Pinterest pin pic from What We Do All Day. Bible: Memory Verse of the Month: "in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth." Genesis 1:1 Memory Verse Song: "God is Creator" by Seeds Family Worship We are continuing to talk about that God is Creator. This week we focused on the fourth day of creation. On day four of creation God said, "let there be lights in the...sky to separate the day from the night..." What a great week! For the second week of October we will learn about pumpkins! Stay tuned for our Pumpkin Report. Thanks for your support and stopping by! I would love to hear from you, like My Little Sonbeam in Facebook. Lesson Plans Alphabet: Dd Number: 2 Colors: Red, Yellow, Green Theme: Fall Leaves Bible: Creation Day 3 Alphabet: Letter of the week box: drum stick, dots, dog, dinosaur, diver, dolphins, diaper, and diamond wood puzzle. Before E opened the box I played the UTube video "The D Song", by Have Fun Learning. This was a great intro to the letter of the week. Half way through the video E was eager to open the box, so I paused the video and we went through the letter of the week box. As he pulled out an item I gave the name of the item and emphasized the beginning sound. Ex: "that is a dog, /d/ /d/ /d/ dog." And had him repeat the name of the item back to me. This time I really saw him making a connection between the items and the letter D. Dd Snack: I gave E the Dd snack, a dried date. He tried it, but he didn't care for it. I didn't think he would, but I didn't have any other Dd snack ;) Letter Dd craft: After we looked through the box and E was done playing with the items, we made the letter Dd craft. E did really well placing the dots along the letter D line! Letter Dd activities: What's inside the sensory tub: -Dirt (baking soda, water and food coloring) -wooden and plastic Dinosaurs -two Divers -shovel and scooper for Digging -letter D My thought was to have dirt for him to dig, but I didn't have enough baking soda, so I added more water then I had planned for. It looks like a muddy swamp then dirt ;) E didn't care, he loved it! I didn't want to add actual dirt, I wanted something "clean" and easy to clean up. I found this recipe for "Dirt" on Pinterest by Learn Play Imagine. Numbers: Our focus this week was on number two. Number Activity: E counted two green leaves, two yellow leaves, two red leaves and matched them onto the corresponding tree trunk. Number Craft: I helped E glue two fall leaves on the large number 2. Colors: Most of the activities during the week envolved the colors red, yellow and green. This is a fun hands on sensory activity we did with these colors. I made homemade paint (recipe below) and found green, yellow and red objects for him to sort in the muffin tin. Homemade paint Ingredients: Water Cornstarch Food colors In a measuring cup measure 1cup of water and add 1cup of cornstarch. Mix the water and cornstarch very well. Then pour the mixture into ice cube tray (or whatever type of container you are using). add the food coloring to each ice cube section and stir. That's it! :) Theme: The ideal activity would have been to play with a real pile of leaves, but we dont have a tree with big beautiful fall leaves. so this was second best and E had a blast! He threw the fall leaves in the air and made leaf piles to jump on. This kept him entertained for quite some time! Songs we sang: (Tune: the wheels on the bus) Song #1: The leaves are falling Down down down (repeat 3x) The leaves are falling Down down down Down to the ground Song #2 Let's make a pile With the leaves (repeat 3x) Let's make a pile With the leaves To jump on top Song #3 What color of leaves Do you see (repeat 3x) What color of leaves Do you see Falling to the ground? Bible: Memory Verse of the Month: "in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth." Genesis 1:1 Memory Verse Song: "God is Creator" by Seeds Family Worship We are continuing to talk about that God is Creator. This week we focused on the third day of creation. On day three of creation God said, "Let the land produce vegetation." For the Bible craft E placed the fall leaves on one of the tree trunks and on the other trunk he made a yellow apple tree. E loved sticking yellow dots on the apple tree. As you can see there are a LOT of apples on the tree :) {In advanced I cut and glued the dirt and tree trunks and prepped the trunks with double sided tape}. We had a great fall week! Happy fall! Next months theme is transportation and pumpkins! Thank you for your support and stopping by! Hope these activities inspire you!
