While enjoying a stitching day at Millrose in Ballan on Sunday, l took my hexi flowers for a walk around the shop. l found 2 that l liked, so l put it to the other girls stitching with me to help. The decision was unanimous!! So l am happy to report that l have finally found the fabric l want to use as my pathway! l set to on Tuesday, covering a handful to test them out. Here is the result! l couldn't be more happy. Love them, and love what they bring to the flowers. l originally bought 2 metres, then yesterday bought 2 more, just in case!! Can a girl ever have enough of a great fabric?? LOL My tally so far is 39 flowers completed, and 14 centres made. Then l have tons more prepped and ready to pick up and go. l take my tin of fabric and papers with me everywhere, and when ever l have a few minutes of down time, l take it out and stitch a few. And now l also have to confess that l have a new hexi addiction! When l was in France a few years ago, l fell in love with these blue Liberty fabrics. l chose 3 solids to go with them and put them in a case to make a French memory quilt. When l came home l went through my meagre Liberty stash and pulled out some extras. This is what l stitched at our sewing day in Ballan. Couldn't be happier with how it is looking, and makes a nice change from working with the reds all the time. Time will tell what l choose for the pathway here, but l do have something in mind!! Stay tuned!! Thanks for visiting. Linda.
I know I seem to say this about every math concept I blog about but I LOVE FRACTIONS. Well, the first grade version of fractions :) ...
I was hoping I would get to use this interactive notebook page idea next year. I'm a little sad that I won't! I was secretly hoping to teach pre-cal next year...not sure why... I found this small unit circle from Jean Adams on TpT. It's a free download. I like that it's small enough to fit in the notebook and still has room to label all of the important information. I also drew a little coordinate grid to help students remember where the x and y values are positive and negative. Sometimes it's nice to have a quick reference.

In patterning our life after the Savior's we should seek for opportunities to serve those around us. In Mosiah 2:17 it states, "...when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." As Relief Society sisters, we have tremendous opportunity to watch out for those around us that need that loving hand of help. When we feel impressed to help someone we need to listen to those promptings and act upon them. We can provide service to others individually or we can do this as a family. Teaching our children the importance of unselfishness, love, and sacrifice. One thing that we did with our kids a few months back was thirty days of service. Each day we did an act of service for thirty days. It was fun to see them serve others and discuss the happy feelings we each individually felt from doing so. Here are some ideas:

This is an Egyptian favorite. A ground meat mixture between two layers of macaroni smothered in a creamy bachamel sauce. You can use any type of pasta you like. The most common are Penne (which is my favorite) angel hair, spaghetti or elbow macaroni. I have a glass dish that is 8x11 and I prefer to bake in this dish because I like it to be a little thick, but if you like it to be a little thinner than that you can opt for the larger 9x13.
