Hello, my crafty friends! I have a new card to share with you using the BRAND NEW Basket of Blooms Stamp Set and the Small Bloom Punch. This stamp set and punch debuted on June 3rd, 2020, with the release of Stampin' UP!'s Annual 2020-2021 catalog. This card is super simple to make! If you'd like to make this card as well, below, you will find the complete how-to instructions and ingredients list so that you can make this card as well! Stampin' UP! Supplies: STAMPS - Basket of Blooms (153305), Lovely You Cling (152525), Tasteful Touches Bundle (154098) PAPER - Bumblebee (153077), Pear Pizzazz (131201), Old Olive (100702), Garden Green (102584), Soft Suede (115318), Crumb Cake (120953), Whisper White (100730), Vellum (101856) INK - Bumblebee (153116), Coastal Cabana (147097), Old Olive (147090), Soft Suede (147115), Stazon Jet Black (101406) OTHER - Forever Flourishing Dies (152714), Stitched So Sweetly Dies (151690), Braided Linen Trim (147808), Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (152155), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Stampin' Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Paper Snips (103579), Paper Trimmer (152392), Small Bloom Punch (152316), blending brush or sponge of your choice CUTTING & SCORING: Soft Suede 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" Bumblebee scrap piece about 2-3/4" x 4", second scrap piece to punch out flowers Whisper White scrap piece about 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" Crumb Cake scrap piece about 3" x 2" Pear Pizzazz scrap piece about 3" x 4" Old Olive scrap piece about 1" x 3-1/2" Garden Green scrap piece about 3" x 1-1/2" Vellum scrap piece about 3" x 1-1/2" INSTRUCTIONS: Start with the card base, fold, and burnish. Stamp greenery sprig from Tasteful Touches all over the card front, being sure to stamp off on a scrap piece of paper first and then stamp the card front without re-inking. Set this piece aside to dry. Stamp "just because" on the Vellum piece with Stazon ink. Be careful not to touch it as this takes a minute to dry. Die-cut the larger piece of Bumblebee with the second largest rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Add Dimensionals to the back, without peeling off the backing. Die-cut the Whisper White piece with the largest rectangle from the same die set. Lightly blend Coastal Cabana on the left side only, as shown in photos. Stamp the basket with Soft Suede ink on the lower-left corner as shown. I did stamp some greenery on this piece but my die-cut greenery eventually covered all of the stampings so do this step if you'd like with Old Olive. Add a double layer of Dimensionals to the left side, and a single layer of Dimensionals to the right side. Don't peel off the backing yet. Die-cut various greenery with Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Garden Green Stamp flower with Bumblebee ink onto Bumblebee card stock. Shape them if desired (curl the petals downward). Add the desired enamel dots to the center of each flower. Stamp the basket on Crumb Cake using Soft Suede ink. Hand-cut it out. Add a double layer of Dimensionals to the far left side, and a single layer on the center and far-right side. Begin assembling the card as shown, starting with the Bumblebee die-cut rectangle. This piece goes down on the right side of the card front with even borders on three sides. Wrap a piece of Braided Linen Trim around the Whisper White rectangle as shown. Assemble and arrange the basket as shown lining the basket up with the stamped basket. I used liquid glue to attach greenery. Using Add the flowers with Dimensionals. Lastly, add the vellum sentiment to the right of the basket with two Glue Dots so that the trim conceals them. Then add a Glue Dot to the back of the bow to keep it in place. Hello and Welcome to another amazing Colour INKspiration Challenge!! Look at these glorious colours!! They are: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride, Garden Green and Very Vanilla. I just love this photo!! Once again, I've grabbed my favourite (at the moment) new stamp set - Blossoming Basket and did some colouring. I've been using the Stampin' Blends lots in the last few weeks, hence the thrill in using this stamp set all the time. However, there is no Blushing Bride blends, so......... I used our Stampin' Write Markers with the same basic philosophy of using the Blends. I coloured the whole image in one layer of colour, and then added subsequent layers to create light and shadow with multiple layers of colour for the darker sections of the image. This is where the stunning shimmery white cardstock just works so well as it stood up to the multiple layers of colour superbly! The base of the basket is coloured in Crumb Cake light and dark Stampin' Blends. Once, I had my baskets coloured - one with a handle and one without (did you notice?), then I had to work out how to show them off on my card!! Funny how sometimes I create with the cardbase or paper first, and other times, it's all about the central image!! So, back I went to the photo, (did I tell you I just love that picture), and decided to go with the stunning vanilla dress imagery - pulled out my Petal Pair embossing folders and ran them through the Big Shot at the same time on my 10 x 14 piece of vanilla. The Burlap Ribbon and Very Vanilla Lace Trim bisect the card over the join of the two folders. I've used this ribbon detail and the Crumb Cake sponged Delicate White Doily to anchor my basket of flowers. The greeting comes from Perennial Birthday (what a brilliantly useful stamp set!!) My final touch was a bit of Linen Thread and Vanilla solid bakers twine to tie a bow around the basket. Everyone knows I'm a HUGE fan of neutrals, so I've just loved this colour combination and the glorious vintage floral image. I hope you do too!! Next on the hop is the talented Tricia and her divine cake!! And please use this link to head to our facebook challenge page and add your projects using these colours to our line up!! Until Next Time Happy Stamping, Love Julia X Please head over to my online store if you wish to see these products in more detail - and you can place your order anytime (if you're in Australia) while you're there (even if you're in your pyjamas!!) It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a colour challenge, and these are the colours we had to work with: These colours are right up my alley! I decided to use the Basket of Blooms stamp set and matching Small Bloom punch for my card. I coloured the images with my Blends. That gorgeous paper in the background is from the Magic in this Night DSP pack (in the Mini Catalogue). The sentiment is from the Little Treats stamp set and I also added some ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Combo Pack and a couple of Rhinestones. I hope you like my card! Hi Crafty Friends! We're in the last month of Sale-A-Bration, can you believe it? Only a few more weeks to earn the awesome free products. Today I am blog hoping with the Inspire, Create, Share team. We are featuring, you guessed it, SAB items! And the newest ones are wonderful! My project today uses the Blossoming Basket Bundle. And it really is a bundle of awesome. The bundle is available for free with a $100 or more purchase. It is a stamp set and maybe the best part, the Basket Weave DynamicTextured Impressions Embossing Folder. Whew, that is a mouthful, but it's that wonderful! I love Stampin' Up and I love my team. And I love to let my team know how much I appreciate them. I like to send them thank you cards in the mail (I mean, I am a card maker after all). I am very excited about this month's card. Let's take a look. I mean, can you believe this embossing folder? This card has the basket and butterfly heat embossed in white on Sahara Sand card stock. I used sponge daubers to color the basket and the flowers (ink-Sahara Sand and Calypso Coral) and then a Blender Pen to color the leaves (ink- Pear Pizzaz and Pool Party). I then fussy cut the basket and butterfly out with my Snips. The greeting is part of one of the sentiments in the set, but I used a Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker to just color in the "for you" words. A doily and some Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon finish off the look. The basket is popped up on some Stampin' Demisionals. I was really happy with the card, but then I started thinking, I need to make a few of these (want one? Join my team and I'll send one your way) and maybe we should make this card in class this month? So I decided to re-design it so that fussy cutting wasn't necessary. A little bit different, but just as nice, I think. I stamped and heat embossed the basket on a piece of Sahara Sand card stock cut to 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". The backing white piece is an 1/8 of an inch bigger. Then I changed up the greeting banner, doily, and ribbon a little bit. Isn't it fun how just a few small changes make the card different. ** I used the Blender Pen to color the flowers and basket instead of the sponge daubers. Let"s take a look at the card together. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have fun using your Blossoming Basket Bundle. If you need one, head on over to my online store--click that shop button on the right. I hemmed and hawed about getting the Basket of Blooms stamp set. It works with the Small Bloom punch, so I decided to go for it. I have made two cards so far and I LOVE this set!! I'm so happy I purchased it. I colored both in with Stampin' Blends and masked on both. I used sentiments from Blossoms in Bloom and Playing with Patterns dsp (on SALE until Oct. 31!!!). The dotted paper in the first card was made by stamping dots on the Playing with Patterns watercolor striped dsp. The background was made by using a make up brush on the panel, then I fussy cut pieces and placed them on the Coastal Cabana background. On the second card, I stamped the vase and fussy cut the other pieces. Let me know what you think, or if you have a favorite! Here are three cards I made using the Tutti Frutti Cards and Envelopes from the Sale A Bration catalog. If you place a $50 order you can get these card bases and envelopes for free! (Envelopes are not shown here). I used the card bases on all three cards. On the blue card I used the Friendships Sweetest Thoughts stamp set, the yellow card is made using a new Sale A Bration set that is available starting February 16th. At first I didn't really like this set but then I started casing the card right out of the new Sale A Bration catalog and decided I really like it. I think that both the blue and the yellow card would make great Easter cards also! The green card I cased from Pink Buckaroo Designs . She has some great ideas on her blog. It is made using another Sale A Bration stamp set called Beautiful Peacock. If you would like to purchase any of these products you can order them thru my online store here . Or you can just contact me to order. If ordering online please use hostess code 7KYRWZPK . If you are ordering more than $150 do not use the hostess code as you will receive full hostess benefits yourself!! Happy Stamping! Stamper Gyrl!
Happy Sunday! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players. This week, I am super-excited to be hosting our monthly Sketch Challenge. Check it out and play along with us! It’s no secret that I LOVE sketch challenges, so I had fun designing the sketch for this one. This sketch can be as simple or as layered as you’d like. I thought that little angled element in the background would be a fun little detail to accent the focal image. *I’ve listed all of the measurements and details for this card below and there is also a full supply list at the very end of this post. Color Combo: Just Jade Misty Moonlight Magenta Madness Daffodil Delight My card uses the Basket of Blooms stamp set, coordinating Small Bloom Punch along with a sentiment from the Pretty Parasol stamp set which are in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. I love to garden, so this set was a must-have. I just love how you can build little blooming “scenes” by layering the images. I just love the “wishing you warmth and sunshine” sentiment and thought it was a perfect match for both the stamp set and the sketch. I added little pops of texture to the background and the flower pot for some added detail. I thought the subtle pattern on angled strip of Designer Series Paper also added a nice touch of texture as well. Of course, those bright flowers weren’t complete without some sparkle using Wink of Stella and a trio of rhinestones. Card Measurements and Details: Just Jade Card Base - 4-1/4” x 11, scored at 5-1/2” Whisper white Cardstock - 4” x 5-1/4” Misty Moonlight Cardstock - 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder 2020-2022 In Color Designer Series Paper (Just Jade) - 1-3/4” x 5” Whisper White Cardstock - die cut a 4-1/4” rectangle from Stitched Rectangle Dies Just Jade Cardstock - 3” x 3/8”, stamp and heat emboss sentiment, then cut banner end with scissors Misty Moonlight Cardstock - stamp flower pot image from Basket of Blooms stamp set, fussy-cut, then emboss using Subtle 3D Embossing Folder Daffodil Delight Cardstock - stamp two small flowers and fussy-cut Whisper White Cardstock - scrap to stamp four flower images from Basket of Blooms stamp set (3 for front of card, one for inside card), color using Stampin’ blends and punch out using Small Bloom Punch Twine bow and Rhinestones Whisper White Cardstock (inside card) - 4” x 5-1/4” 2020-2022 In Color Designer Series Paper (Misty Moonlight, inside card) - 3/4” x 5-1/4” Finally, a peek inside the card. I simply added another strip of the In Color DSP and a little floral accent with space to write a handwritten note to a friend. Do you like mixing up a card design after you've made a card? I often like to use the same elements to create a different look. Let me show you what I mean. Remember this card I shared, using the Sale-a-bration Blossoming Basket stamp set. Well, after I made it with my SU team, I felt like playing around with the same pieces to create a couple of different looks - each with different levels of fussy cutting too. Some people love to fussy cut & some really loathe it so it's good to be able to have different options. No Fuss So I started my mix-up with a no fussy cutting version using the same card pieces. I embossed the pool party card with the Sale-a-bration Basket Weave dynamic embossing folder that's teamed with Blossoming Basket. Partially cutting the pretty Blossoming Basket image with the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes die set gives you a fast & gorgeous look with no fussy cutting. Yay! Again, this idea was inspired by these cards made by the fabulous Emma Godddard. I changed up the blossoms colours using calypso coral Stampin' Blends markers, plus the original old olive & crumb cake Blends. I backed the image with a square of pear pizzazz card & sweet doily. It looks so pretty sitting over the card edge. I couldn't resist adding a fussy cut butterfly too. Fussy Lavender This card fits the bill for those who love fussy cutting or lavender. Doesn't that basket of lavender look so beautiful? The brilliant idea to use the Sale-a-bration Lots of Lavender stamp set with Blossoming Basket also came from Emma Godddard's cards. I changed up the ribbon colours for this version, substituting lemon lime twist ombre ribbon & fresh fig ribbon. I love how fresh it looks. To make the lavender basket: - Stamp the whole Blossoming Basket image - no need to mask off the flowers. - Colour in the basket, then make a long horizontal slit just under the blossoms. - Stamp three lavender images & colour with rich razzleberry Stampin' Blends markers and fussy cut them out. - Slip the lavender into the slit, position them as you like and secure with adhesive - dimensionals. You may want to cut off some of the leaf sprigs so each lavender looks a little different. You can watch Emma's fb live video if you'd like to see this process visually. Thanks so much Emma for sharing this fabulous idea. So, which one's your favourite? Leave me a comment to let me know which one you'd like to make more & pin them for later inspiration too. It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. This week is a sketch challenge, and this is the sketch we had to work with: You'll have to trust me when I say that this is one of those cards that looks so much better in real life. The Basket Weave layer is actually vellum, so it's sheer and delicate. I've only added a touch of colour to the Blossoming Basket image, using ink and Blender Pens (So Saffron and Sahara Sand). I also cut out an extra set of the flowers and popped them up on dimensionals to create a 3D effect. The only embellishment I've added is a small piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and some Organza ribbon. I also added a touch of sparkle using Wink of Stella. I hope you like my card.
