It’s no secret that some of the biggest things in human history were discovered utterly by accident. Penicillin and X-rays, to name just a few, are among them.

This is my original watercolour painting of a solitary sailing boat on the Helford River, Cornwall. A beautiful stretch of coastline, Helford River is actually a tidal estuary and stretches around many stunning creeks and inlets. This painting is unframed but you have the option of having it unmounted or mounted (matted) in a soft, off-white mount with backing. It is painted in artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on Saunders Waterford rag cotton paper. The image is 40cm x 32cm unmounted or if you choose to have a mount the image becomes 38x31cm with a 2.5" wide mount on the sides and 2" mount at the top and bottom. The outside of the mount measures 20x16". You can see more of my work here: www.etsy.com/shop/PenstoneArt Thank you for looking

A fine time on a canal boat holiday along Britain's waterways.
A Punt is a square-ended boat which has a flat bottom with no keel and is usually propelled using a long pole. Punts were developed in Medieval times to provide stable craft which could be used in areas of water too shallow for rowing conventional craft. One such area was the Fens, the marshy flatlands north of Cambridge, where punts were integral to local trades such as eel fishing and reed-cutting, until they died out in the late nineteenth century. Punts were introduced to Cambridge as pleasure craft in Edwardian times. One of the pioneers of punt hire on the River Cam was F. Scudamore, who founded his business in 1910, quickly establishing punting as Cambridge's favourite pastime. Today, Scudamore's Punting Company owns the world's largest fleet of punts, with nearly 150 craft available for hire along two routes. Punts today are usually 6 to 7 metres long and 1 to 2 metres wide. They should be propelled by means of a 5 metre long pole, which is also used to steer. This method of propulsion is known as "punting". Punting along the River Cam is one of the traditional delights of visiting Cambridge, and something that should be tried - at least once - by everyone! Punts can be hired at Silver Street bridge, Mill Lane, Magdalene Bridge, Jesus Green, Trinity College, or Grantchester. Most boatyards are open Easter to early October. The cost is in the £15/hour range, with a damage deposit generally required. If you are feeling flush in the pocket you can hire a chauffered punt and relax while your paid punter takes you along the Backs, past the historic colleges of Cambridge University, often the chauffeurs are students at the university, and we'll be regaled with tales of Cambridge past and present.
The Town of Bluffton, South Carolina, in Beaufort County, grew along the bluff and banks of the May, Coosawhatchie, Cooper and New rivers—waters that blessed the area with fertile ground, rich biodiversity and breathtaking vistas. With photo and nature safaris, environmental talks, kayak and boat tours, "from-heres" and "come-heres" are encouraged to take a walk on the wild side.
