A home library is not exactly a common feature but let's not take things so literally. Don't necessarily think of the home library as a separate room

All my patterns are created using a combination of computer and hand correction and are designed in the ‘’ pointillist ‘’ style of art which is a technique of painting in which small distinct points of primary colors create the impression of an intermediate color. Over the past few years there’s been a trend towards colour-blocking one’s bookshelves. I have to admit I’ve never really been a fan. First of all, it’s bit too contrived. Second of all, it’s not practical. Am I the only one who likes to group my books by topic? All my design books are together, all my fiction, and so on. The idea of things being grouped by colour just doesn’t work for me mentally! (The same goes for my wardrobe – I’d never group by colour, but by style, sleeve length etc). Personally I am a fan of a bit of a messy bookshelf. One that looks rifled through, used, read. These are lovely. I can see the appeal, but it’s not my style: Both via Laini Taylor But these! These are more like it. Cram them in there, I say! via Apartment Therapy via the neo traditionalist. (Nigella Lawson at home. Bloody hell!) And when you run out of room… via nineandsixteen blog
I grew up in a home where education, and along with that collecting books, took precedence. My father had an extensive library of books that covered different topics and passions. My father, who was rarely without a book in hand, instilled my love for reading, and the constant desire to hunt for books. In design, books are considered details that reflect the owner’s taste and interests. Designers always seek to display books in an unexpected way- whether in a bookcase, on a table, a chair, or simply on the floor. Stack them according to color, size, or subject and let the books speak volumes.
