To make an AAC Core Adapted Library for your school or clinic, start by acquiring multiple copies of books. I did that through scholastic book clubs. They have most books for under $5.
AAC Core Word Put In Adaptive Book is an interactive book featuring the core words Put In. The book features Boardmaker Picture symbol for the preposition “in”. Great resource for AAC learners as well as students learning spatial concepts. The student follows the direction to put the item in the basket or cart, selecting the item from a choice board. The student then completes the sentence on the following page, selecting the “in” symbol”. This activity has been a crowd pleaser with my speech therapy students and reinforces: vocabulary naming of food items, following directions comprehension and expression of the preposition “in”. The file includes both color and black and white versions. I use the color version during my teaching groups and the black and white version can be used for as an activity for the student to color and paste their own book. This pairs with the my AAC Core Words BOOM Cards-Put In
