Various points in people’s lives have a rather influential impact, like a turning point, that can, under the proper circumstances, create a shift or break in worldviews, nearly a personal paradigm breakdown, setting the course of their future in an entirely new direction This set of poems, stresses just that, for it occurred at a particularly crucial moment for me. I feel that it is generally a turning point, a specific time that is momentous in nearly everyone’s life, ages 18-20. I was in college, studying Literature and decided to try my own pen and try to capture my own “spontaneous overflow of emotion (Wordsworth)” to relieve some of the pressure of new ideas. I began to try to emulate, at first, some of the earliest forms and therefore many ‘thee’s and ‘thou’s occurred, the likes of which I have tried to clean out unless they drastically altered the rhyme scheme. I always kept (and still do) a little booklet in my pocket, so that I would never be unable to capture the moment, if need be. I hope that you can understand, enjoy and relate to some of the ideas and emotions that I embraced or yielded to during one of the many transitional times that we all face from time to time. Sit back and relax as you journey through the record of my experiences in this strange collective predicament that we all find ourselves in…Life. If you are at all inspired likewise, I’ve included some blank paper at the end for you to reflect for yourself on your own experience and I encourage you to send them to me. Sincerely, D. H. Kaye
I am producing a set of book cover posters that celebrate some of the finest Classical works of the worlds greatest musicians. This edition commemorates the beautiful piece by Ralph Vaughan Williams called The Lark Ascending. Inspired by George Meredith's poem Williams wrote the piece in 1914, but the outbreak of World War I meant he had to put its premiere on hold until 1921. This wonderful tune is often voted Number 1 in the Classic FM Hall of Fame Chart. Can't find your favourite Classical work? Please contact me and I will happily produce your favourite, be it Bach, Handel or Verdi. The list of great composers is huge and my selection so far is only the tiniest tip of the Classical Music iceberg! Each poster will be printed, lovingly wrapped and securely sealed into a postal tube before being safely delivered to your door! PLEASE NOTE: These posters can be resized to any measurement, please contact me to discuss your requirements. Also each poster can also be purchased separately.
