I downloaded this photo from the web but I belive that this is one of the photos I shot while I was a Navy photographer. We were at about 2500 feet and we could feel the blast wave. They didn't fire many full broadsides because of the age of the ship but when they did...IT WAS AWESOME! Before firing you would hear "Ding Dong" that ment you had ten seconds to grab hold of something and flex your knees....then... WHAMO!.... it felt like the ship was hit with a giant sledge hammer.
