For sale: $9,000,000. Rare is the marriage of manor, lord and lady. Simply, the Gingerbread House, landmarked by the City of New York for it's iconic place in the history of the Arts and Crafts genre, is enchanted. What a joyous life you may conjure here! The renowned clarity of form and structure, variety of materials, asymmetry, traditional construction techniques and craftsmanship, defining of the Arts and Crafts movement, are visually, texturally and functionally palpable. Are you to be the fifth, in its century old history, to thrive in serenity and positivism, driven by the integration of internal and external environments, for which the Gingerbread House is so famed? Whether you are an author, actor, performance artist, philosopher, industry titan or innovator, the sculpted wood reliefs, stained glass, hand carved stone fireplaces, mantles and columns will transport you across continents and centuries. The interior, expansive and uplifting, has been curated to perfection. Stained glass illustrative of history, fantasy and fairy tales abound. Interior stonework reflects natural settings and pastoral images emblematic of the Arts and Crafts movement. The fountain room connects the great room to tiered exterior terraces where your lemon trees may grow or your chamber musicians may perform. Think Victorian soiree. The house is a proven venue for large scale corporate and academic events. The grounds are capable of supporting your personal outdoor interests, whether walking gardens and greenhouses, tennis or in-ground swimming. The particulars: Interior space: 5,764 square feet, 6 bedrooms. First floor great room, dining room with fireplace and music conservatory all with cherry and mahogany flooring and hand sculpted wood reliefs. The music conservatory hosts the great stone hearth, the essential core of the architectural style, accented by carved stone columns and sculpted stone reliefs. Exterior footprint: A 20,000 square foot lot spans a city block, and includes a quarter acre parade ground green space. Pocket gardens surround the property. The terra cotta tiled kitchen with separate staff service area, leads to an outdoor dining patio that connects to terraced patios. Daptone Records is proud to present Brooklyn to Brooklin, the Scone Cash Players inaugural release on Daptone Records. Longtime Daptone Hammond ace, Adam Scone was seduced when his traveling performances brought him from Brooklyn, New York to Brooklin, Brasil, where he found a trove of new love and music. Produced by Bosco Mann, and featuring Jimmy James (True-Loves, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio) on guitar and Neal Sugarman (Sugarman 3, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings) on tenor sax the group took this newfound inspiration into the studio and tracked some of the freshest soulful music we've heard in some time. With help from his intergalactic choir, the opening track, "Cold 40's", leaps out of the speakers with the screaming organ sound that has put Scone on the short list of goto organ players. The Hammond then gives way to a dreamy, funky groove that's perfectly seasoned with ethereal background vocals that will transport you to a place where summer is on repeat. "Brooklyn to Brooklin” brings you deep into a fever-dream of tropical rhythms and seductive flourishes of psychedelia, sure to delight dancers and dreamers alike. Come take a trip!
