This ex Ministry of Defence Austin K6 6X4 tipper is in the livery of Contractors (Manchester) Ltd which was one of Edward Beck's originally owned companies that concentrated on demolition, building & civil engineering works. Seen here in Manchester in 1960, during major reconstruction of the city centre, the vehicle was just one of around 30 ex Army Austin K6 lorries that Edward Beck purchased from Ministry sales during the 1950's. Photograph and information courtesy of Teddy Beck. More images along with the company's detailed history can be found on the Edward Beck & Son Ltd Stockport Web Site Also you can view the Edward Beck & Son Ltd collection here on Flickr
