This is an original 1950s shop haberdashery counter made in Birmingham England by Harris and Sheldon Ltd. The large oak haberdashery counter has glass top, sides and front with oak beading around the edges. There are five banks of drawers with five cascading drawers on each bank - small drawers on top gradually getting bigger for the bottom. The joinery outside and inside the drawers is intricate and a real feature. All the handles are intact and beautifully made with bakelite inserts. The oak has a lovely colour and patina, showing character from years of use. The drawers are clean inside. The vintage haberdashery counter would make a delightful addition to any shop or it could be used as a centre piece in a dressing room at a private home. It provides plenty of storage with drawers at 33cm wide, small drawers at 36cm deep and the largest ones at 56cm deep.

Having recently updated my own kitchen, visiting many kitchen showrooms in the process and experiencing the monotony often encountered during the shopping experience, I'm thrilled to share with you a recent Customer's Corner story that uses an entirely different approach to kitchen cabinet displays and the custom kitchen design showroom process. Armoires Cuisine Action, located in Boucherville (QC, Canada), provides custom kitchen cabinet and bath services to the greater Montreal market. Their well-executed implementation of a hanging system installation clearly steps outside the art hanging arena, devising a practical and efficient approach to a better customer hands on experience.
