I can do all of the doors in this listing for $2750 except the last three. Those are $2995 I need to know the rough opening and the jamb width and which door you want. Each comes pre hung in the jamb/frame and two sets of trim and any hardware you see. I had to pick a shipping service but didn't see one that matched. We will make the door if not in stock in 4 - 6 weeks and then we use a logistics company. We also have two large Mercedes Sprinters and we deliver all over the United States with a sweet retired married couple driving for us so you will need someone on your end to help get it out of the van. If you are reading this listing after looking at all of the beautiful doors we make that means you are probably ready to pull the trigger and start asking questions. That means you have probably done your homework and you have looked at about every website out there that sells rustic reclaimed lumber doors. Old growth reclaimed Doug Fir 70 - 100 years old. The wood is sourced nationwide from old barns, businesses, houses. When we purchase the wood from a third generation demolition company here in California our guys pull out any nails and metal embedded in the wood, give the wood a good cleaning and sand old paint off of the wood so that you will get the finish that you desire. One of the reasons you are using reclaimed lumber is to highlight the wood’s aged beauty. Once the carpenters have removed all unnatural blemishes from the wood it is now a canvas for your finishing process. The doors are built on site here in San Diego, CA. by our talented carpenters "Made in the USA" in our state of the art shops. We can take any door you see in our files and custom make it in your dimensions and any size jamb width. If you would like to see the files of all of the doors we have made ask me how I can get that to you. You can also send me a picture of a door you have found online and the chances are very good we can make it for you. We can do low E insulated glass or laminate or tempered. We have clear and seedy and some opaque choices. If you see a door you like hardware and the glass is included in the price. We have a standard hardware package that comes with the doors but you may see something you like online and we can see if our blacksmiths can make for you. All hardware is hand forged made by artisan old world blacksmiths in Mexico. The hardware is the only part of the doors we have fabricated in Mexico. When you contact me about a door if you generally know your rough opening, the swing of the door, the jamb width, if you want an arched or a square top door and what hardware you would like that is about all I will need. You can tell us if you want the door to be less rustic, medium rustic or heavy rustic in looks. This is part of the charm of using reclaimed lumber. You can request a very rustic look with the natural nail holes, hail marks, weathered by storms, pin holes, termite holes from long ago critters that no longer inhabit these doors or you can ask that we choose less rustic wood. The quality of the doors is excellent. The doors are solid old growth Doug Fir. We never use fillers or engineered wood or veneers. These are doors than can be passed down for generations. By using this reclaimed lumber you are keeping a link to the past alive. We do not stain the doors. It is not hard and we will send you a video class on every step including the clear coat process. ANYONE can do it. If that is not enough you can call us. We do not do the bore holes or install lock sets That needs to be done on site. We do not install the throw bolts for double doors. That needs to be done on site. We can Dutch any door. We use a company called Seko Logistics to ship the doors. We are running 4 – 6 weeks right now and once the doors are at the shipper it takes 3 – 5 days to get to you. You are also welcome to come here to pick up your door here in San Diego to save shipping costs. “Unusual doors often take you to the unusual worlds!” ― Mehmet Murat ildan Doors create a magnificent first impression. Yours can go beyond being a simple entry way to one that reflects your personality and adds character and warmth. We use solid old growth reclaimed Doug Fir lumber 40 - 100 years old gleaned from demolished houses, barns and businesses. Mid century all lumber was original growth and only rough sawn at the mill so a 2 X 4 was a full 2” X 4”. After that the wood was planed down or surfaced four sides so that it becomes a 1-1/2 X 3-1/2”. In some cases the wood can be hundreds of years old and could have been even older before it was used in the structure it was found in. Knowing the age helps determine the wood’s density and how well it stands up to the process of reclaiming it. From simple to elaborate our rustic doors can provide you with the look, personality and mood you want. No two doors can ever be exactly alike. The defects are naturally made and are random and will vary board to board. Natural characteristics are knots of different sizes, variations in color, grain swirl, wormholes, pin holes. Most of our doors are deeply influenced by castle doors from England, Spain and Italy. Built from solid reclaimed Doug Fir wood our arched wrought iron hand forged pounded pieces you see decorating our doors giving a charm and uniqueness only limited by imagination. Our niche is using very old kiln dried wood to make rustic doors. If you want your door to look like brand new wood in a rustic style then tell us and we will use brand new wood like mahogany or alder or oak. Otherwise, you are getting a piece of history. Each piece of wood is unique and is used to create unique doors and windows. Each beam is like a historical artifact and every one has it’s own story. Your door had a life before it came to you and it may have had a life before that. It could have been in a farmhouse dating back to colonial America. There is something special about being able to say that your door offers character shaped from it’s previous life. There is not a way to get a wood as characterized as reclaimed wood. This old wood is unique in color variation more than anything you can get from a lumber company that sells virgin wood. Doug Fir is a very good choice because it naturally resists most kinds of weathering without a lot of paint or product. Old growth wood is better in every way. It has already experienced the weather and time and has multiple color tones because of the weather. The amount of time a board was exposed to rain and sunlight and other environmental factors often dictates the exact color of the finished product. Old growth Doug Fir tends of have a tight grain pattern that is quite coveted. This means the actual grain of the wood is in a smaller pattern than other wood types. This leads to durability. The beauty of this wood is minimal care after installation. This old growth Doug Fir has a ton of character elements that are not there in new wood pieces. Old nail holes from use, worm damage and more all adds to the character of the barn wood. Old growth refers to trees that have naturally reached their full maturity in an environment that encouraged old growth. These trees are larger and stronger because it took sometimes centuries to reach maturation. It is harder than virgin wood. Old growth forests are now protected and cannot be used which means using reclaimed lumber wood is the perfect alternative and by using this environmentally friendly reclaimed lumber you are giving new life to any project you can dream up. Last but not least is choosing reclaimed lumber is a sustainable option that reduces deforestation thus helping to protect the eco system. Instead of cutting down new trees this is a great way to repurpose wood that has already been in use. Not only a good choice but a beautiful choice. If you would like a PDF file of all of the doors we make please let me know and I will send you the files then I can make a custom order for you. It's wonderfully fulfilling to have a hobby where you have to use your hands. For one, it forces you to take a break from looking at screens all day long. Working with wood, for instance, is incredibly meditative and is a great outlet for your creative ideas, barring the odd splinter here and there. And if you’re anything like us, the smell of sawdust makes you smile, too.
