Vultures are found on every continent except Antarctica and Oceania. A particular characteristic of many vultures is a bald head, devoid of feathers. Research has shown that the bare skin may play an important role in thermoregulation. Vultures seldom attack healthy animals, but may kill the wounded or sick. Vast numbers have been seen upon battlefields. They gorge themselves when prey is abundant, till their crop bulges, and sit, sleepy or half torpid, to digest their food. They do not carry food to their young in their claws, but disgorge it from the crop. These birds are of great value as scavengers, especially in hot regions. Botulinum toxin, the toxin that causes botulism, does not affect them, and they can eat rotten flesh containing anthrax and cholera bacteria. When a vulture's dinner has too thick a hide for its beak to open, it waits for a larger scavenger to eat first. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulture

A beautiful, original, antique school wall chart of the trio Jung, Koch & Quentell. On this map you can see the owl, buzzard and goshawk (owl, buzzard, goshawk). They belong to the birds of prey family. The beautiful school wall charts by Jung, Koch & Quentell are characterised by their splendid colour design and the excellent detail-faithfully drawn animals or plants. The charts all do without text. Usually different pictures are drawn on a black background, which enhances the enormous colour contrast and the impressive artistic effect of the school wall charts. This antique school wall chart will fit perfectly into your home. It will be an eye-catcher for your guests. The school wall charts were originally published in Germany by Frommann & Morian until the 1930s, and since the 1930s by Hagemann Verlag. The early charts bear the inscription "in joint venture with Frommann & Morian Verlag" in the real lower corner. These charts are considered particularly rare because they are particularly old. Jung was a professor, Koch was an artist and Quentell was a teacher. At a time of the beginning of the school reform in Germany, these three men brought together their knowledge and competence in order to jointly design these special school credit charts. Details: Original chart, no copy, no reproduction! Printed on paper on linen Printed by Lehrmittelverlag Hagemann, Düsseldorf in the 1930th years. Once rolled up, the chart can be easily fixed with the metal screws so that it is also very easy to transport. Each of the school wall charts offered has an original, sturdy string on which they can be easily attached to a nail on the wall. Dimensions (chart only, without rods): Width: 82cm Height: 113cm Condition: This map is in a very good antique condition, depending on its age. See also the pictures for details. Gorgeous as it is, nature is the place where everyone has to fight for itself to survive. This is why most of them have developed some amazing camouflage techniques to be able to hide while resting or nesting. This time we put together a very deceptive selection of owl camouflage. These birds are real forest ninjas. If you think you see nothing but a tree or a rock in the picture, take a closer look and you're in for a surprise!
