Have you tried the No Line Watercolouring Technique? I hadn't and decided to test it out using the Daisy Garden stamp. This is a very large stamp so it is best to use a stamp positioner as once the stamp is mounted on an extra large block it gets very heavy and can be difficult
Don’t you just love background stamps. I used the new Daisy Garden Stamp for this card. I embossed it with White Embossing Powder and then colored with Watercolor Pencils to give it a soft look.
Hello everyone, hope you are all having a lovely week. Yesterday on my Facebook live I made this card using the Daisy Garden background stamp. I love Navy and White together - it always looks elegant to me and I think this card does too. The stamp is a background stamp intended to cover the whole of a card front and that makes the design and stamping so much easier. You can choose your main ink according to how or if you want to colour at all. Today I wanted to change the card a little and add a few more elements to make it pop even more. I added a Granny Apple Green cardstock layer on the front and inside, coloured the leaves and stems with the Granny Apple Green Dark blend pen, and coloured my seam binding in both Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy. I love the more colourful version just as much as the original - how about you? To make the card you will need: Night of Navy Cardstock cut at 11 x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2". 3/4" x 4" strip for front of card. Basic white Cardstock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4", stamped in Night of Navy ink and then cut down to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8". Basic White cardstock 3 5/8 x 4 7/8" for inside, 1/2" strip for sentiment, cut just longer than 4" to allow placement of sentiment and then trim the overhang. Granny Apple Green cardstock - 2 pieces cut at 3 3/4 x 5" Approx 9" Whisper White seam binding. Dark Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight blend pens. Night of Navy ink. Stampin' Up! This is my favorite Daisy card!! I mean Fresh Freesia and Mossy Meadow! WOW, stamp in Versamark and Emboss with Clear embossing powder. An OLD Technique with beautiful results! Fresh Freesia card base. I used the water painter brush to add the Mossy Meadow ink to the leaves. Mossy Meadow marker direct to the stems. I then used the Blending Brushes with the Fresh Freesia ink for the Daisies. A simple sentiment is the only embellishment needed for this card. Give this Technique a try....you will love it! Welcome to week 17 of our Colour Creations Showcase. Tonight we are showcasing one of the gorgeous green colours that Stampin' Up! has for you to choose from when making your projects. This Week Garden Green Well for my card this week I wanted to try something different. I googled..... yes I googled green flowers and actually found quite a few. I knew there were some other than succulents but I wanted to check to see if stamping my daisy was too far out there! No not really. Granted this is more Granny Apple Green in colour but I went for it anyway. I chose to do quite a monochromatic card with just a hint of colour to represent the sunset! When I had finished I almost thought ok now the colours are reminding me of some of the houses that my hubby and I looked at when we were trying to buy our house and the kitchens were stuck in the 70's and 80's. You know what I mean! 😂😂 Apart from the colour that you can't not see now! This card has lots of fun elements. Beautiful Garden Green stamped daisies that have been punched out with the Daisy Punch and the Medium Daisy Punch. I decided to do 3 of each size to make it a lush and full bloom. I adhered them together with Stampin' Seal and then added a mini dimensional between the smaller daisy and the larger daisy! Hans Christian Anderson is quoted as saying "Living is not enough, one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower" I think my flower needed a little bling with the gold glitter enamel dots and Wink of Stella as well! I have used the Subtles 3D embossing folder to add some texture and interest to the white space of the card and do you see the circle that I have cut out. I have used the largest of the Stitched shaped Dies and even though you can't see the stitching here I will have a stitched circle ready to go for another project. I have added the gorgeous leaves cut from Forever Flourishing dies in Garden Green card stock behind the daisy and over lapping my sunset that can be made by popping a piece of Artistry Blooms DSP behind my peekaboo window! It almost reminds me of a scene in the Roger's and Hammerstein Musical South Pacific! Not sure why maybe the cover of the movie. I have been singing "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair" all afternoon! 😂 Our beautiful Brass foil was just perfect for this card and I have used the Well Written dies for the word "Friend" and the "butterfly" I first adhered the foil onto the adhesive sheet before putting them through the Emboss & Cut machine and it is just perfect for this thing. You need to get some of those sheets if you haven't already! Well my time is up for living in the 60's, 70's and 80's so if you have any Stampin' Up! needs or would like to purchase the products to make this card. It is really quick to make. Please contact me. This 18 and a half minute video contains ideas for using the Daisy Garden Stamp/Background set. For the Daisy Garden Full Background Stamp Set, I used a variety of colors and embellishments and a couple of techniques. The first card is in the new Fresh Freesia In Color with In Color Pale Papaya ribbon and flower centers on a Pool Party base. I waited to add a sentiment until I decide exactly for what I will use it. The green is Light Granny Apple, and the Echinachea (Purple Coneflower) were colored with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I cute around some of the flowers to create an edge that gives the card a lot of contrast too. What other color combinations would use for a card like this? For this Monochrome style card, I used Daffodil Delight for the card base and ink with BumbleBee gingham ribbon. I also went over the flowers with Wink of Stella glitter brush for sparkle and shine. This card is Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink and Soft Seafoam for a pleasing pastel color scheme with a lot less coloring than the first card. For even less coloring time, try the spotlight technique. I liked the soft edges, but for even more emphasis, you can layer the circle that is colored onto Basic Black or Polished Pink or both in larger size circles. I liked the softer look I used with just the colored circle layered onto a stamped layer. You can die cut several circles from one stamped image, color them and use them with other stamped image layers for several cards too. This card is for one of my downline's new downline. I love helping people save money on their purchases and enjoy a new hobby. If you would like to know more about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, please email me. This large background stamp is so much fun to create with. You don't have to use the whole image which is easy to forget for any stamp but especially these large stamps. I stamped the daisies on a piece of Basic White with Memento ink and colored this in with watercolor pencils. I did add a bit of Wink of Stella to the center of the daisies. It's easy to forget that you don't have to color in images too! Here I stamped the center portion of the stamp with Gorgeous Grape ink. I layered the image with some Gorgeous Grape cardstock. The background was embossed with Pretty Flowers embossing folder. On these cards, you see the whole image but with a fun and easy technique. I stamped the image with VersaMark ink and then sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it on both of the pink cardstocks. One pink is Polished Pink and the other is Melon Mambo. Use the Stamparatus for this so that the images are in the exact same spot on both pieces of cardstock. I then laid the large circle die on top of both pieces of cardstocks that were stacked together. I ran them through my die cutting machine all at the same time, cutting the circle from both pieces of cardstock. I then swapped the two circles around and adhered them to the other center with dimensionals. This is a super simple technique. If you can't get your circle to cut, run it through your die cutting machine more than once. Sometimes it just needs the extra run through to get it to cut. You can see the Facebook Live video HERE where I made these two cards. Here is the Melon Mambo with the Polished Pink circle. This one is the Polished Pink with the Melon Mambo circle. Which do you like better? I really like the Melon Mambo with the Polished Pink circle. I think it's more striking then the other way around. Tell me what you think! Happy Monday Peeps!!! Today's card share is made using the fun Daisy Garden stamp! This is a one stamp set of this beautiful bunch of daisies. I love it, I wanted to try and keep the daises looking white so I started by stamping the image with Gray Granite on Basic White. Let me say, your Stamparatus is so helpful with a large image stamp like this! I colored with my Blends using Old Olive and Mossy Meadow for the leaves and the centers are done with Daffodil Delight. Super simple but coloring those leaves took some time. I ran the entire image piece through my Stampin Cut and Emboss Machine using the Tasteful Textile EF, for some added dimension. My sentiment is from the Sweet as a Peach stamp set an I added a few basic rhinestones for some added sparkle. I love how this turned out and I am sure I will be using it again very soon. My pre-order from the upcoming mini arrived late last week and I got to play a bit over the weekend. So far I am loving all my new goodies. Watch for some sneak peeks this week! Listed below are the "ingredients" used to make this project, (except retired product). If you would like to buy the products for yourself, I would be very happy for you to shop with me.
