Hello lovely people, I have a Dies to Die For DT project for you today and I thought I'd do something other than a card so I made a set of cute floral tags. "Is that yet more new MFT stuff I see there?" I hear you ask... ...well, yes it is because I couldn't resist the fab Blueprints tag sets! ...and these stitched flowers are pretty awesome too don't you think?! It was a very grey day when I made these so I reached for the most colourful papers I could find! If I've tempted you with any of the lovely supplies I've used then you can go straight to the individual products via the thumbnails at the end of my post or just pop over to Dies to Die For and have a little browse around! Hi crafters! Today I have a tag to share using inks to create a lot of texture and layers. Please note: this post has affiliate links, for which I receive a small percentage of sales generated by the link, at no extra cost to you. Simon Says Stamp has a brand new release called Just For You and this tag was made with products from that release. I wanted to create something of a magical mushroom forest using the new Mushroom Stems die set. The Just For You release has a great mix of stamps, dies, stencils and other products which are great for both Easter, spring-time and other themes. There is even a pair of Pawsitively Everyday Scissors. I started by white embossing one of the pretty Simon Says Stamp Leaf Edges stamps on a tag. Smear Distress Inks on a non-stick craft sheet, mist with water and press the tag into the ink. Let dry. Repeat to get deeper colors and more texture. I added one more layer of Distress Ink after this photo and then finished with a tiny bit of Distress Oxide ink. I missed taking a photo of that step unfortunately. Die cut the Simon Says Stamp Mushroom Stems twice from heavystock paper. Press Lost Shadow and Frayed Burlap on a non-stick craft sheet, mist with water and press the mushroom parts into the ink. I used mainly Lost Shadow. Color the hats in the same way using various colors. Let dry and then repeat the process once or twice with Distress Ink. If you only touch the paper to the ink you get a splotchy appearance. As with the background, I did a final layer using Distress Oxide inks, but only in a few areas of the images. Shape the mushrooms with Tim Holtz Shaping kit and adhere the colorful hats with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Perfect Foam Tape. Dye May Arts Wrinkled Faux Silk Ribbon with Distress Ink, mist with water and crinkle. I adhered the mushrooms to the tag with more foam tape. The sentiments were stamped with Simon Says Stamp Forest Scenery, which wasn't a part of the new release. Here you can see the effect of the opaque Distress Oxide inks. I also used Simon Says Stamp Pretty Pastel sequins. You can make these mushrooms in any color imaginable. I dyed cheese cloth to form soil or undergrowth for the mushrooms. The small mushrooms are so cute. We had lovely sunny weather today, even though there is still some snow left. I am looking forward to spring-time in the forest. The tag has quite a bit of dimension. There will be more Just For You inspiration here on Saturday. Happy stamping! Hello, I am back for Jay Gee's Nook DT post. Today, I've created this tag to share with you using Memory Box die "Prim Poppy". To make this tag, I first die cut on the white cardstock and then adhere on the black cardstock in order to have the shadow effects. Hope you enjoy today's post :)

For those of you who like my Bible Journaling pages that I usually share on Tuesday, it might be awhile before I show any more pages as I have so many cards to post! Summer time is a busy time for me to make cards as I have five summer babies and two anniversaries. I already showed you Alethea's Birthday card last week, this week I have Ashley and Jason's Anniversary card to show. This is a card that looks so simple, but it actually took me about three hours to make. Isn't that ridiculous? There's a lot of detail in this card that isn't noticeable right away. I did get this sketch off the Internet, but for the life of me I can't find it again. I suppose it doesn't really matter as I used completely different stamps and supplies, so other than the sketch, it doesn't look much like the original at all. Now, lets get on to why this card took three hours to make. First, I stamped retired Stampin' Up! "Roses in Winter" in white on the edge of the Kraft card stock. Then I stamped a retired Stampin' Up! background stamp in clear ink. I then covered the entire Kraft card stock with Gesso. Then I sewed the Kraft card stock to the white card base. Now, to make the tag, I cut it out of vanilla card stock with a Spellbinder's Nestability Tag. I put a grommet in the tag hole. I stamped another retired Stampin' Up "French Script" onto the tag. I wanted a more 'aged' look, so I applied Gesso to the tag, that blurred the words a bit but it still was not 'aged' enough for me. So then I took a thin coat of white craft paint over that. a piece of hemp was strung through the grommet and the tag was mounted up on the card with dimensionals. Finally, I cut the flowers, leaves, and "love" sentiment with more dies. I wanted the "love" sentiment to pop more so I put in on a small piece of green card stock. Pearls were added for embellishment. I was really pleased with how the card turned out, but not pleased at all with how much time it took to make. Yikes! Have A Great Day! Hi there Before we get onto today's project, I need to apologise for an 'oopsie' with my blog on Sunday night. I had my CASE-ing the Catty blog post scheduled, but then on Saturday afternoon I was whisked away for the weekend for my birthday. I had 10 minutes notice to pack some clothes and as you can imagine I forgot all about my scheduled post, which I hadn't written yet. Anyway, that is a lesson for the future, lol. Now onto the project I have to share today, which is all about thanks. I love dressing up small thank...
Today I'm sharing a tag made from a VIDEO pf one of my favorite carmaker, Vicky, who's 2013 project is a GREAT Art journal plenty of techniques and inspirations. Her last work is about coffee and it's lovely, but I was inspired by april's one that was inspired by reading and I try to make the book pile she created (Let's check her one, it's amazing!!) con questa tag partecipo ai due challenge di Simon says stamp che hanno come tema Anything goes: SIMON SAYS STAMP MONDAY CHALLENGE SIMON SAYS STAMP WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE THANKS vicky! ευχαριστίες!

Today begins a new challenge over at Tag, You're It!, and I couldn't be more excited about it! Jeanne Jachna designed a beautiful tag with so many elements from which to be inspired. I hope you are inspired too, and play along with us! Here is my tag: Here's Jeanne's wonderful tag: Isn't that gorgeous!? I love Jeanne's ability to mix colors and patterns. I took an easy route and used coordinating papers from one collection. I replaced her focal butterfly with a coffee cup, which is curved for dimension. I used the word "Coffee" as my "scallop" going across the tag. I wanted to use Jeanne's dry embossing somewhere, but it just wasn't happening on this tag. kind of like the Saturday Evening post... but on Thursday... anyway... happy holidays!!! I LOVE to shop... Rick teases me that if shopping was an olympic event, I'd be on the center podium... so it kills me... but sometimes you have to just give cash... but here's a quick unique way to make it a little more special... the first one takes a few minutes to figure out... but when you have a sample, it's quick to zip more out... the 2nd & 3rd take less than 15 minutes to complete... TRUST ME! here's how to turn a manila tag into a cash envelope... to look like this... if you want to play... start with a #8 manila tag... one tool that I don't use every day, but I LOVE, is the scor-it... it makes perfect folds very time... so... measure 2 inches from the top of the tag & score... and measure 1 1/2 inches from the bottom & score again... your tag will look like this... ink the tag with vintage photo distress ink using the blending tool & completely cover both sides... add walnut stain distress ink to the edges... working on the BACK of the tag... use walnut stain to stamp the ticking as shown... over the top 2 sections of the tag... for backgrounds, I usually, not always... press unevenly to create a worn vintage look... or I apply the ink in random areas... now it looks like this... use coffee archival to stamp the polka dot border on the lower section... use jet black archival to stamp the saying over the middle section... stamp the mini branch with forest moss... over the middle section... here's a tip... you can protect the top section with a post-it note, to prevent stamping on the top... this is the BACK of the tag... turn the tag over & work on the FRONT of the tag... use coffee to stamp the Christmas background over the top 2 sections... a little tip... the "have yourself a merry little Christmas" background has teeny tiny words, which makes it hard to read & tell which side is up... so, to avoid stamping it upside down... I used a sharpie & put an arrow right on the cling to know which direction is up... saves an oops & it's a quick tip... use fired brick to stamp the greeting... use forest moss to stamp the mini branches several times on the top of the tag... fold the bottom section up...and use jet black to stamp the mini scroll & "look inside" 2 times... fold the bottom up & use a thin line of Glossy Accents on just the edges to create the pocket... the inside now looks like this... stamp the holly 2 times on grungepaper with jet black... cut out one full image & an extra leaf... ink the leaves with forest moss... front & back... use a cut & dry nib to ink the holly berries with barn door distress ink... use jet black to stamp the border of polka dots over the leaves... add barn door distress stickles to the berries & dry... cut a ribbon to approximately 14 inches... put one end thru the hole, across the top of the tag & down the back... glue the holly over the ribbon to hold it in place... this is the only adhesive I used on the ribbon... it's not glued on the back, so the greeting can be read... fold the tag... and tie a bow to keep it closed... here's the finished envelope again... like I said... the first one takes a bit to figure out... if you're using text... but this next one took no time to finish... I needed one for a boy... so, the same folds, but a little different closure... tim's truck was stamped with jet black... the initial, from tim's new lost & found salvage stickers... was put onto black presentation board... cut out & distressed with tim's sanding grip then a little vintage photo... the T was glued with Glossy Accents to look like it's in the back of the truck... a simple way to personalize the envelope... so... follow the instructions above... and after gluing the edges to create the pocket, insert an eyelet on the bottom of the tag... this time I used black string to keep the envelope closed & cash safe... this also works for a quickie birthday envelope too... or it's a simple way to hide a mini love note! think valentine's day... YIKES... let's get thru Christmas first... one other tip... if you decide to use other background stamps for stamping the back of the tag... remember that when the tag is folded, text or numbers will be upside down... on the top flap... so, keep it simple & use patterned backgrounds to save time... just saying... how about more prizes??? OK...FIRST... we have one for... Jacki said... This tree is so cute - and so you, Wendy! I love EVERYTHING that you create! We are so lucky you create ART and share it with all of us! Do you like gift tags? I love them. Big or small, simple or elaborately even overly decorated… Actually there is no such thing as an “overly decorated gift tag”. It is amazing how, in so little space, you can create and say so many “words”. The best thing with gift tags is that you can use even the smallest pieces of paper in your craft collection. I started doing exactly this in the process of creating my huge paper… um… carefully chosen selection of lovely, beautiful pieces, which I didn’t want to use, because of their beauty. If you read…

It's Wednesday and another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog! This week our theme is Tags, and the design team are using Ranger products. I had fun making mine this week! It's that time of year when we gardeners start longing for growing things, so I chose that for my theme. I used these Ranger products: Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo distress inks, Verdigris embossing powder, and a manila tag. The largest fern is simply stamped with peacock feathers ink, and the other to the left was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Verdigris powder. They are very close in color, but the embossed one has a golden shimmer to it. Other supplies: Hero Arts Silhouette Fern, Traditional Butterfly, and the subtle script is from the Artistic Windows set, sentiment from Impression Obsession's In a Garden set. The clock motif comes from an old Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection stamp set. I dyed my seam binding with some distress ink, and added some natural twine to it. And here's a 2nd one, using roughly the same colors, but with a bird and music theme: I started with cream cardstock that was trimmed to fit inside the kraft tag and stamped some music across it, then used this Mini Flower Frenzy stencil to add some broken china details. My sentiment is from a Hero Arts set, Essential Messages, and my branch is Simon's Small Forest Tree; the bird is the Perched Reed Bird by Memory Box. Then I added Lawn Fawn sequins, an October Afternoon button, and some lace and twine to finish. Ranger products used here are Vintage Photo and Broken China distress inks, and the kraft tag. ETA: I'm adding this 2nd tag to the Moxie Fab World's Styling with Stencils challenge. Wonderfully generous Heidi has provided us with a $50.00 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store for one random winner of this week's challenge - will it be you?
