While our group was at Outstamping Designs in Valley Junction, Iowa, we got to make four cards from a class they have taught. They are all so beautiful! I'm sharing them here without much description. I put the cards together, but they are not my creations - I'm not taking credit for them (even though I'd love to!) They use Anna Griffin dies and folders, Cuttlebug dies and folders and Memory Box die - I believe. Also ribbon and tulle and stamps and other embellishments. These cards are mostly five by seven (except for the pink one, which is larger than A2 but smaller than 5 x 7.) Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
Hello there! I love all things slime-line related, and when I saw this kit over at Graphic 45, I just had to create cards using the ideas found in that month's kit club. I used the information in the project sheet as the base for my cards. I, however, added lots of dimensions using foam adhesive and of course, I just had to add the Matte Gem Pearls. I don't have the red flower die cuts, so I used the Ivory pack and the red rose bouquet instead. Each layer of my card is popped up using foam adhesive, so this card will not fit in a regular slimline envelope. I did the same as the project sheet suggests and cut the card base length to be 8 1/4 inches, and that way, you can use the 8x8 paper pad. I inked all the edges with black in to give it a bit more interest and also because I kinda have to ink all the stuff all the time. The kit club project sheets are a great way to get you to work with what you have. If you don't have a particular item, just dig through your stash, and I am sure you will be able to find a great replacement. As long as you have the beautiful Graphic 45 papers, you can't go wrong. Thanks so much for stopping by. Supplies: Please click on the picture to be taken to where the items are available. Some items may not be listed below because they are discontinued (older product), or I cannot find a current link. Compensated affiliate links are used when possible and are at no cost to you.
Hiya! I received my stash of Graphic 45's new Ladies Diary and Haunted Halloween last week and had to toss it in a corner until other things were finished. *sob* Have you seen these new lines? Oh my goodness Graphic 45 did well with these! Ladies Diary is lovely, and today I want to show you that it's not just about the girls! If you click the photos to see details you'll be able to see the layering on that gentleman and his car. The rosette is made from a 1/2" x 12" strip of the green background paper and scored at 1/4" intervals. Easy peasy! An inside detail - this car was taken from the 8x8 pad and layered. I like the smaller scale to complement the outside. So, that's it for me! I have more stuff to show you - earrings and an ATC made for swaps - both "firsts" for me. Hopefully my Canadian swap partner will receiver her "Wicked Forest"-themed matchbox soon. I can't wait to show you that tiny little treasure! All these swaps and nothing to show you *sigh*... haha! The drama queen is getting off her throne and back to work. Thanks for visiting today! Cheers, Susan
Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon June Blog Hop! You should be coming to my blog from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. (For the complete blog list, scroll to the bottom of the post.) After visiting me, hop over to the spectacular Ginny's Blog next! At the end of the hop, comment on the RRR Blog post, answering the question listed, for a chance to win the June Ribbon Club Assortment shown below. (The Design Team appreciates your comments, too!) The June Ribbon Club Assortment is called Purple and Pink Mix. And, oh boy, is it a beauty! When I first got this assortment, I was drawn to the flower print ribbon and the horizontal striped ribbon. But...as you can see from my project, I went off course in a totally different direction! I had the Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe papers on my desk, just waiting for me to cut into them. I decided to see if I could match them to the June Ribbon Club! It happened, but the floral ribbon in the club assortment was just to much with all this floral paper. So, I switched gears! I had created a fun easel card with the G45 CItyscapes paper a while ago, and thought I'd remake it with Floral Shoppe! I think it turned out very pretty. It's the perfect card for Mother's Day, a birthday, a wedding, and so forth. By changing the central sentiment, this card can work for so many occasions. To make an easel card, first cut your cardstock to 12" long by 6" wide. Score from the top at 3" and 6". Cut another piece of cardstock at 6" x 6". Fold the 12" long piece of cardstock at the 6" fold line to create a 6" x 6" top-folding card/ Place double-sided adhesive below the second score line. Fold on the 3" score line as shown above. Attach the 6" x 6" panel to the area where you added the double-sided tape. This is the base of your easel card. You can now decorate as desired! I love lots of prints and color, but even I must admit that this one may go a bit too far in that area! I still like it, especially for spring or for a fancy wedding. I wrapped the front of the card with the Sherbet Checkerboard Satin ribbon. I then wrapped one length of the Regal Purple Diamond Satin ribbon above the sherbet ribbon and one length of the regal purple ribbon below the sherbet ribbon. I created two bows, one from each of the ribbon colors and attach them to the card. I added lots of flowers and some metal charms. The inside of the card is also a feast for the eyes! I added a sticker sentiment to the top of the inside panel. I LOVE this paper. That yellow flower just POPS off the card! I added one of the ephemera cards to the inside bottom panel. To help keep the card open when in the easel position, I added some flowers and a metal dragonfly charm. I also used some of the stickers from the Floral Shoppe collection. I like to cover all the surfaces of an easel card, so this is what the back looks like. That floral paper is just a poke in the eye...in a good way! {smile} Now, hop over to Ginny's Blog to see what she has for you! Here is the RRR Blog Hop Order in case you get lost! Some cards over the next couple of days from a range from Graphic 45 , Le Amour. The top card has lots of fussy cutting, and just a ribbon bow, whereas the bottom card has a bit more work – I…
Hello everyone! I have two interactive cards to share today, made with new Sizzix dies and papers by Graphic 45. I wanted to make some thank you cards, to thank people who did special things for Leo, or me, when he was born. And also to send to loved ones who are far away. The new Fold-a-Long card dies by Jen Long are wonderful if you like to make interactive cards. They also double as ornaments or photo frames since they stand on their own. Here you can see both of them closed. They fold down flat so they are easy to send in an envelope. I used the Ticket Fold-a-Long and the Rounded Label Fold-a-Long. When you open the cards they look like this, with the star of the show in the middle. They are really fun to decorate and the set comes with all the dies that you need. I die cut the base from manila cardstock which had been inked with Distress Inks. I smeared the inks on my craft sheet, misted with water and pressed the paper into the ink. Repeat on the back too. This die is the Ticket Fold-a-Long Thinlits set. If you put the card down flat, it looks like this. The die both cuts and scores the paper, making assembly very easy. You need to fold the cardstock once when you die cut the base, there are clear instructions on the packaging. Use this sandwich: Magnetic Platform, Cutting Pad, paper, die facing down, second Cutting Pad. From above the card looks like this. Isn't it a fun shape? I stamped hearts using the Be Mine set and Potting Soil and Cornflower Blue inks. They were adhered with foam dots. All the papers are from the Precious Memories 8 x 8 collection by Graphic 45, such sweet baby papers. I inked the edges with Gathered Twigs. You can decorate the inside flaps too. The second card was made with the Rounded Label Fold-A-Long set. I used the same photo on the inside, taken a few days ago. You could also die cut the whole panel from a photo. You might see the details a little better when the card is flatter. This image is hiding behind the front panel. I love that little image of a boy with his dog. The sentiments also comes from the same paper pad. Thank you so much for stopping by today! Happy crafting! In search of photos for this class to make the homework instructions, I realized that I never posted them on my blog!! I'm not sure how I missed that... This class is full for this Saturday (April 8), but I still want to share it all with you anyway. The class entails six A7 (5 x 7) cards and a large gift bag to coordinate with the cards. This is my favorite of all the cards, and of course uses a lot of fussy cut pieces and a lot of layers. This one has some Spellbinders die cuts and gold Liquid Pearls on it. One of my favorite things to do with cut-a-parts that have frames, is to cut out the image and frame as separate pieces, and then pop up the frame giving more dimension to the card. This one has a lot of layers as well, but what I really like about this card is the image of the woman on the sofa. She reminds me so much of my youngest sister when she danced ballet for many years. The smaller two framed images represent my other sister, and myself. This one was fairly easy, and fun to put together. And, here is the gift bag with coordinating card. I love to use wide ribbon for feminine images and paper, and it works well with these two items. Here is the bag, alone. Thank you for joining me in a look at the cards and bag for this class. Happy creating!
Hello friends 1st of April! How did that happen?? I promise no April Fool's in this blog post :) This is the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day, very Springlike and featuring Graphic 45 - Secret Garden, Sprigs and Blooms Four. Today's card has been featured on the Crafty Power blog here - all visits and comments very much appreciated :) I like placing photo corners onto my cards, it gives them a nice finished touch, excellent that you can ink them too. As mentioned, I was treated very well by my boys on Mother's Day. I love every single one of my gifts and just knowing they went shopping and selected them is very touching. I should have photographed the cards - they are superb at selecting cards - haven't got them making them quite yet! Also today announcing the winner of the knitted squares Baby Blanket of Love. The winner is ticket number 37 - Jane Willis. Congratulations Jane - please email: [email protected] with your address details and the blanket will be on its way to you. Thank you to all those who purchased raffle tickets, such a good cause and talking of good causes.... April's Charity Kit is being announced tomorrow! Take care friends.
