Thanks for stopping by and welcome to Mitosu Crafts. We are sharing 4 card fronts from our display samples at the Stampin' Up! OnStage local event in Solihull The new photopolymer stamp set Bird Banter on page 42 of the Spring/Summer 2018 catalogue contains 19 stamps with 5 bird images which are great for the Stampin' Blends or Watercolour Pencils Bird Banter #145852 Clear embossed Tree Rings stamp on Basic Black cardstock. The bird was coloured with the Stampin' Blends then fussy cut with Paper Snips. The tail was also cut then angled to sit better within the card design Island Indigo Ombre Ribbon was adhered across the card front about 1/3 from the bottom Wood Textures Designer Series Papers were used with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and Layering Circles Framelits Dies The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento then snipped and arranged diagonally This card uses the same bird design but stamped in Basic Black Archival, coloured with the Watercolour Pencils, fussy cut and the tail was left as stamped The new crepe Picture Perfect Paper Ribbon in Lemon Lime Twist was adhere in 6 rows with Tear & Tape then framed with Wood Textures DSP on Mini Stamping Dimensionals Linen Thread was wrapped around the Whisper White card 3 times and the crepe paper ribbon was used to create the leaves behind the parrot; colouring the middle with Stampin' Blends The Sheet Music Background Stamp was used for this next card, masking where the 2 budgies were going to be stamped first The birds were coloured with Stampin' Blends before sponging the Whisper White base in Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake ink Added a strip of Basic Gray card on the left and tassels of Silver Mini Sequin Trim and Linen Tread on Basic Black Baker's Twine with the sentiment punched with the Classic Label The mats for this card is from the new Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Papers on page 29 Glossy Cardstock was gutted first with the square Stitched Shapes Framelit to get the topper. The background was then embossed with Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder The birds were stamped on the square Glossy Cardstock and coloured with Stampin' Blends. The alcohol pens doesn't move or blend as well on this card as it dries too quick so you will need to colour fast We hope you enjoy these projects using the Bird Banter Stamp Set which will be available to order from 3rd January. Today I'm sharing my Bird Banter Thank You Card with you. I've been waiting to show you my Bird Banter Card to announce that the Stampin' Blends Markers are Back In Stock ... YAY!!
Welcome to another week of What Will You Stamp? To participate in this week's challenge and to see all the great projects from the Design team using this set be sure to visit the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog. This week we were challenged to use the Bird Banter Stamp set. I have created a birthday card with the large parrot. What I love most about this set is that all the images are outlines, which makes it perfect for colouring! I cut up the sentiment and arranged the words around the parrot as it was too big to place at his feet as a solid piece. The background DSP is from the Tutti-Frutti suite, the 'reverse' sides are great for Layering backgrounds. If you like the colour combination, please share it on your favourite Pinterest board! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed seeing my project please take a few moments to leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think. I am back with another Paper Craft Crew card map and am excited to share a brand new stamp set that will be coming your way with the new Occasions Catalog (January 2018)! As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I get...
So my order from the new catalogue finally arrived (woot woot!)!!! First order of business: play with the Bird Banter stamp set of course! This was one of my must-haves while I was perusing the 2018 Occasions catalogue...it just looked so fun and playful...I knew I had to get it. Anyway I was super excited to play with this set. I had the idea to perch the birds on top of power lines, just for fun. And so I came up with two cards using the same design but different techniques and materials. For the first card, I did a watercolor background using my Picture Perfect Party ink spots, a piece of plastic, and a spray bottle. It's easy to create this background effect: just dab ink randomly on any plastic piece (using the smaller ink spots work best for this technique as they are easier to handle), spray water on it to move the ink, and apply to your piece of cardstock. I then stamped my birds on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, colored them in, cut them out and arranged them on top of the power lines. And finally my layering piece is from the Sale-a-bration item Sweet Soiree memories & more card pack. (I just LOVE free stuff...don't you!!?!?!?) Moving on to my second card, I decided to make it a bit simpler. Instead of cutting out my birds, I did a little bit of masking. I then just stamped clouds randomly, this is from the stamp set This Little Piggy (another fave of mine!). For additional interest I sponged the edges of my cardstock lightly with my Dapper Denim ink pad. Lastly my layering piece is from the Petal Passion memories & more card pack. I also used my Wink of Stella on all of my birds because my cards ALWAYS have to have a bit of sparkle! ;) So which card do you guys prefer? I think I like the first card better just because of the pop of color in it. I enjoyed making these and plan to make more projects with this fun stamp set...after I get to play with my other equally fun new toys ;) Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day crafters! The whole time I was coloring this parrot all I could think of was Sharpie the Gilette parrot asking, "How're ya fixed for blades?" Yes I am that old! He was a sassy cartoon bird who advertised razor blades during the Friday night fights long ago. I wasn't allowed to stay up and watch those fights but I could watch the opening commercial with Sharpie and then head up to bed. Strange the things you remember.......I can't remember where I set my glasses down twenty minutes ago but I can remember those commercials from 60 years ago.....scary...... The next workshop on the 8th and 9th February focuses on the Bird Banter set and the Beautiful Peacock Sale-A-bration stamp set. You will find lots of samples of both sets on pinterest as they are really quite a quirky couple of sets. The Bird Banter has some cute, funny sayings, particularly useful if you are late for a birthday, or just need to find a funny greeting. These are great images for colouring, whether using the Stampin' Blends, Markers or water colour pencils. The Beautiful Peacock is a gorgeous set that can be so useful, the tail section can be used on its own as a flourish or corner piece. This set works so well with embossing powders to really make a striking statement. Sign up for Feb's classes closes on Friday 3rd, and remember if you order £45 of Stampin' goodies not only can you choose a free Sale-A-Bration product, but also get the class for FREE!. I’m still reeling from my Stamp Showcase presentation on the Main Stage in front of 2,700 people – and I loved every minute of it! I created and shared five new projects with the Bird Banter stamp set
We have a Winter Advisory out today. The rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow mix and snow has now moved out of the Mid-Michigan area and left us with some hazardous conditions. We've gone from 53 degrees out yesterday to 19 degrees now and into the teens for tonight. Yikes!!! The ice underneath the snow is such a hazard. I wish everyone in my area safe travels if you must. My share for today is another Alternate Card that I made using Stampin' Up's December 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Flora and Flutter and SU's new Occasions Catalog Bird Banter Stamp Set. Let's take a re-look at my first Card and then a look at my second Card: It's been a while since I posted this First Card on my blog so I thought I'd give you a re-look since I'm back to using Stampin' Up's new Bird Banter Stamp Set. The Holidays have kind of thrown me off my normal routine. And, here's my Second Card. I LOVE these adorable little Birds. My Card Base is Basic Black Cardstock cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored and folded at 4-1/4" for a side opening Card. As some of you may know, the Square Lemon Lime Twist Leaf Stem Die Cuts were cut backwards and Stampin' Up placed the corrected version in our kits along with the version that was cut backwards. So we got extras! I used the backwards version on my Alternate Birthday and Thank You Card. I trimmed down the Lemon Lime Twist Leaf Stem Square to measure 3-3/4" x 3-3/4". I trimmed out a piece of Pool Party Cardstock to measure 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" and adhered it to the back of the trimmed down backwards version of the Lemon Lime Twist Leaf Stem Die Cut Square with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. I adhered this panel to my Card Base with Stampin' Dimensionals. Using the Flora and Flutter Stamp Set, I stamped the Butterfly on the White Butterfly die cuts from the kit in Daffodil Delight Ink and adhered it to my Panel as shown in the picture above with a thin strip of Stampin' Dimensional down the back Center of the Butterfly Body only leaving the Wings free of adhesive. Using SU's new Occasions Catalog Bird Banter Stamp Set, I stamped the Bird, one Long Leaf Stem and 5 Short Leaf Stems onto Shimmery White Cardstock with Basic Black Archival Ink. I colored the Bird with my Stampin' Blends Markers in Light Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive as shown in the picture above. Using my Aqua Painter, I water colored the rest of the Bird with Basic Black Archival Ink. I colored the Leaves on the Leaf Stems in Light and Dark Old Olive Cardstock. I stamped the Tiny Flower 3 times in Calypso Coral Ink onto a Calypso Coral Card Base from SU's new Sale-A-Bration Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes and fussy cut them out. I used SU's Fine Tip Glue Bottle Adhesive and filled in the petals of each flower and let them dry. After they were dry, I fussy cut them out. I also filled in the eye of the Bird with the Fine Tip Glue Bottle Adhesive. I fussy cut out the Bird and the Leaf Stems. I adhered the Long Leaf Stem with Mono Multi Purpose Glue behind the Stem and a Stampin' Dimensional behind the Leaves. I adhered the Bird with Stampin' Dimensionals and a little Mono Multi Purpose Glue behind its feet. I adhered 3 of the Short Leaf Stems with Mono Multi Purpose Glue behind the Stem only as shown in the picture above. I adhered the 3 Tiny Flowers with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. Using SU's Starburst Punch, I punched a Starburst from Pool Party Cardstock and trimmed it down to approximatley 3/4" x 2-1/8". I stamped my Sentiment onto Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and trimmed it out to measure 5/8" x 1-5/8". I adhered the Sentiment Panel to the Starburst Panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered the last 2 Short Leaf Stems with Mono Multi Purpose Glue on the Stems only as shown in the picture above. For the inside of my Card: I adhered a panel of Whisper White Cardstock that measured 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" to the inside of my Card Base with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. I stamped Thank You onto a scrap piece of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and punched it out using SU's new Tailored Tag Punch. I also punched out to partial Tags from Pool Party Cardstock ( about 3/4 of each Tag ) twice and adhered them to the back of the Lemon Lime Twist Tag and to the inside of my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. The last thing to do was to add some of SU's Tiny Basic Jewel Pearls (Retired) to the Center of each Flower and 3 medium Pearls to the Butterfly. I'm in total LOVE with all the darling Birds in SU's new Bird Banter Stamp Set. They are so, so and so cute!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog!!! Stay warm wherever you are!!!
