Wonderful antique 1920s softback booklet from Dennison, “Dennison’s Gala Book,” featuring party, event, and costume ideas for Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, the Patriotic Days, and Easter. Most attention goes to Valentine’s Day, with decorating ideas for a dance, church supper, home party, and engagement party. Some beautiful artwork, most is in black and white, but there are some red color touches on several pages. There are also party game ideas at the back. There are some very general instructions for some of the ideas, but it’s noted that specific instruction booklets need to be obtained for complete instructions. CONDITION: Some normal handling wear and creasing, normal age toning and normal vintage soiling, some edge wear and corner wear, etc. • Some NOTICEABLE CREASING ON FRONT AND BACK COVERS, including diagonal crease on front. • Cover spine is SPLIT up to bottom staple area. Spine is a bit worn. • Center page piece is DETACHED at upper staple area. • Otherwise, fairly soundly bound, feels a little fragile in areas. Any props not included. Well, this card isn't exactly in keeping with the feel of St. Patrick's Day, but it IS my birthday on St. Patrick's Day, and this IS a birthday card! All of the papers are SU. I played with some My Favorite Things dies for this beautiful focal point. I do love those sweet little flowers from a retired SU paper collection, and decided they needed framing. The sentiment is from Elements of Style, trimmed, set on a scalloped circle patterned paper, and topped with Liquid Pearls. The ribbon is vintage, from my beloved Mom-mom. (good grief, looks like I needed to change the blade on my paper trimmer!) I'm entering this in Simon Says Stamp's challenge: Mother's Day or Special Girl. This decidedly-feminine card is going to someone very special, for her birthday. Hope you liked today's birthday card! It's really got a lot of my heart in it. I should give it to myself. ;-) Would you like to see a St. Patrick's Day card I made years ago? You can view the original post HERE. I've also got other St. Patty's Day cards from years past here: Giant Shamrock Tutorial Garden Shamrock St. Patrick's Day Simple Shamrocks Lucky Birthday Kiss Me, I'm Irish and finally one more, a reeeaaallly old one...(I cringe when I look at the oldies) Happy St. Patrick's Day to my Irish sisters, but as I like to think, everyone's Irish just for a little while on St. Patrick's Day! Stamps: Elements of Style - SU Paper: Pretty In Pink, Crumb Cake, patterns - SU Ink: Close to Cocoa - SU; Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain - Ranger Fibers: vintage ivory picot trim satin ribbon Accessories & Tools: scalloped circle, circle dies - Spellbinders; Decorative Doily Duo, Simply Scallops Large dies - MFT; doily - Wilton; White Opal Liquid Pearls - Ranger

Hello everyone and thank you for joining us at H2H! Our challenge this week is to Go Green! Now what does that mean? Well you could "go green" like a leprechaun since St. Patty's day is next weekend and you could create artwork with a St. Patrick Day's theme. Or you could "go green" as in repurposing, recycling, or reusing something in your artwork. Or you could create something that is green. That is just some of the things that come to my mind. What comes to yours? Before I show you what our Design Team has come up with for this challenge, I wanted to remind you that we have started MARCH MADNESS here on our challenge blog. This will add some fun to our challenges for you our readers, subscribers, and crafty peeps. Now you do have to play to win and follow our usual challenge guidelines. We have a couple of prizes that are not just for our usual players - we're looking for YOU -- our first time players! That's right, our first prize is for a first-time H2H player! Every time you link up, add a number with your name to help us keep track of the number of times you play, starting with your second time in March. So, my second entry might look like "Melinda#2" in the linky. If you don't number your entries, we won't be able to count you for the prize. (In the event of a tie, multiple prizes will be awarded.) AND to make this even MORE fun, some of our craft Design Team members may be offering prizes on their blogs -- who is doing that you might ask??? Hello my crafty friends. Today I'm sharing a Pop Up card for St. Patrick's Day that is also a Slimline card. The front features Karen Burniston's new Happy St. Patrick's Day die (with shadow!) and a sweet image from Doodlebug Designs. Inside, I created a simple box pop up to animate a few more of the elements from the same package. HERE is a link to my tutorial on creating a simple box pop up - once you get the hang of it (it's so easy - I promise!) you can vary the measurements of the platform to work with the card size you are creating. I liked the gold foil on some of the elements, so also added some gold circle peel-offs!. This blog uses affiliate links whenever possible. This means, that at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through one of my affiliate links that I may receive a small commission from your purchase. I only link products that I own, love and use for my card making! Any supplies I'm unable to link are listed at the very bottom of my post. Hello Friends, Remember when I said that the Heartfelt stamp set and bundle were so much more than just Valentine's Day? Just look at what you can do with the Heartfelt Bundle for St. Patrick's Day! I
Happy St. Patty's Day! Today, I have the cutest dog from the Happy Tails stamp set to bring you a little shamrock. This is such a great set for dog lovers and for many occasions! If you look closely at the stamp set, you can see all the fun stamps. Do you see the spot stamp to add spots to the dog? :-) And, the bundle has a coordinating punch to go with it! The shamrock was created by punching three little hearts using the Dog Punch and arranging them together at the bottom. This is the sweetest little heart, you'll
I have two cards for St. Patrick's Day today. My mother was of Irish descent and very proud of it. We celebrated St. Patrick's Day in a BIG way while growing up. When she passed, my sister became the family matriarch of all things Irish and after she passed, it fell to me. SO...I have made a few St.Patrick's Day cards for today and earlier this month I made a pop-up box card. These mice are part of the Anita Jeram collection from Colorado Crafts. I think this is the first time that I have used every major image from a stamp set the first time I used it. If you have kids of a certain age you will probably remember Anita as the illustrator of "Guess How Much I Love You", a wonderful children's book. I'm still practicing my watercolor techniques but I'm pleased for a first effort with these stamps. I used ZIG Kuretake Brush pens rather than actual watercolor (but I have some on order!) I felt the style of these stamps didn't fit with my usual Copic marker coloring style. Some people are fairly loose with Copics, but my style is a bit tighter. The Shamrock Blessings card is also for the sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week. I hope you've enjoyed my cards. Happy St. Patrick's Day! An Irish blessing: May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks, May your heart be as light as a song, May each day bring you bright, happy hours, That stay with you all the year long. Products used: Stamps: Colorado Crafts Four Leaf Clover Ink: ZIG Kuretake Brush Pens: 047, 302, 041, 069, 900, 053, 901, (Shamrock Blessings) plus 903, 063, 061 (A Good Friend is Like a Four Leaf Clover) Thanks for visiting today! Make a St. Patrick's Day card using the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit Die and coloring it green. Make shamrocks with punched hearts.
St. Patrick's Day Cards, Pot of Gold Card, Happy St. Patrick's Day Cards, St. Paddy's Day Card,Pot of Gold, Horse shoe Embossed Cards This Pot of Gold card is perfect for saying thank you or just to say hello this St. Patrick's Day.The base of these cards is made with green card stock layered with white embossed card stock. A die cut Leprechaun hat that has been embossed is added with hand punched gold glitter coins. Sentiment is hand stamped and die cut. Inside is layered with white card stock and is left blank inside for that special message. Cards measures 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and comes with white envelopes and sealed in a clear cellophane wrapper.
I am gearing up for St. Patrick's Day with some 4-leaf Clover Cards. When you don't have a shamrock stamp, you have to improvise with your Valentine's Day sets! I have used the Meant To Be stamp set and the Stitched Be Mine Dies to create both of the shamrocks of these two cards. This is just a basic A2 card - 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half - Call Me Clover Cardstock Whisper White Cardstock -4" X 5 1/4" Using the random spot stamp from the Delightful Day stamp set - I stamped with Call Me Clover ink - but I stamped off the ink first so that the spots were not so dark - to do that just ink up the stamp - then stamp once on a piece of scrap paper first, then stamp on your card piece to get a bit lighter image. After stamping the Whisper White Cardstock, I ran it through the Subtle embossing folder just to give it a bit of texture. I cut some random hearts and flowers from some scraps of Call Me Clover Cardstock- two of the hearts I used are from the Trio of Tags die set that was in the Christmas catalog - but still available. The flowers are from the Garden Gateway Dies. I also used a few enamel dots from Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots. I cut a Whisper White circle using the Stitched Shapes dies. I stamped four hearts from the Mean To Be stamp set and cut them out with the die that has all of the multiple hearts that are connected in the Stitched Be Mine die set. I adhered the hearts to the circle with liquid glue to form the shamrock. The stem was cut from one of the many flower sets we have and I just cut it to the right length and placed another enamel dot in the center. Dimensionals were used to adhere the circle on to the card The sentiment is from Bonanza Buddies, I just blocked of the word you- stamped with Call me Clover Ink on Whisper White cardstock. This was cut with the Stitched Rectangles die and I shortened it by placing the die back on and running it through a second time - cutting off a bit at the end. I adhered the sentiment with dimensionals and added another enamel dot to finish it off! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 This card has a 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" base from Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 3 1/4" and folded so that there is the back side is an inch longer than the front side. Cut two pieces of Whisper White cardstock for the mat pieces 3 1/8" X 5 3/8" for the front and 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" for the inside. The check is from the 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper - Regals - cut to 3" x 5 1/4" - the backside of the check is the diamond pattern - cut to 1 1/4" X 5 3/8" I cut a scalloped rectangle from Whisper White with the new Stitched So Sweetly dies- approx 2 3/4" X 3 3/4" the Shaded spruce rectangle is 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" then run through the Striped Scalloped Textured Impressions embossing folder - which is on CLEARANCE right now for $5.10!! I stamped out 4 of the striped hearts from the Meant To Be stamp set on Whisper White with Call me Clover Ink. I also cut a piece to use as the stem and I stamped this with the heart stamp to get the same stripes across the stem. There is a spot where the stamp over lapped that looked a bit messy - so that is where the sentiment was placed! These striped hears were cut with the Stitched Be Mine dies and then adhered with liquid glue in the shape of the clover and added the stem - tucking it up under the hearts. I layered my white scalloped rectangle, the green embossed rectangle, and the hearts and stem and off set it on the front so that the white rectangle hangs out over the edge of the base but not all the way to the outside edge. - I hope that makes sense! Just be sure you do not put any adhesive on the back of the part that is going to stick out over the edge!! The sentiment is from Bonanza Buddies, I just blocked of the word you- stamped with Call me Clover Ink on Whisper White cardstock. This was cut with the Stitched Rectangles die and I shortened it by placing the die back on and running it through a second time - cutting off a bit at the end. I topped it off with the rhinestone that is from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels which are still available. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 I hope you enjoyed these two lucky clover cards!
