Nice to see you back! I have always loved slimline cards since I first learned about making them about 10 years ago. It is wonderful to see that they are all the rage in card design now. So I was thrilled to design an entire card kit with all slimline cards. This post is just showing you the cards that will be in the kit. I believe that they are all spoken for ecept for one kit! And Carol just received them on Friday (3 days ago)! One thing though, I forgot to take my photos of all the cards like I usually do. I do, however, have the teaser photos I took, and have done the best I could with editing them. SOLD within a day after posting This is a large Kit! It has 9 Slimeline cards! Kit cost is $45. If you wish to grab the last remaining kit, contact Scrapbook Parade here. These are the nine cards in order as they will appear on the printed instructions. So these are the cards for the Maja Design "Vintage Autumn Basics" Slimline card kit. See you next time for a post with more detailed photos to accompany the instructions for this kit. Remember, there is only one left! Happy creating!
I'm having one of those weeks. Lot's of projects to get done for my design teams, and totally short on time. Luckily I got this card done for Maja Design yesterday, before all the craziness started today! My husband and I are looking to get our roof re-shingled, so we've been trying to get some quotes. This morning while I was getting my pic's done for this post, our plumbing pipes burst, the ones leading from the street to the house!.....Major water pouring in and no way to stop it! So the basement got flooded, and now we have to do major plumbing repairs.....fixing the plumbing from the street will require, tearing up our concrete driveway and putting in all new pipes....sigh, so much for putting in a new roof before the winter. ...Well, at least I have a happy card to share, the bloom was fun to create using little scraps of Maja Design papers, from the Coffee in the Arbour Collection. One of my favourite sheets of paper from this collection is the 'Delicious Moments' paper with it's sweet little 'coffee' time or snack time vignettes. I really like this paper because it offers great little pic's to use as center pieces to a cheerful card design. I used the coffee/roses and chocolate cake design for my card. I simply cut out the coffee cup design, used an edge destressor on the edges and did a little machine stitiching around the edges of my cut papers. I wanted to give my card a bit of a home-spun look so I created a flower design that I hope resembles a patterned quilt look. I cut out a flower petal pattern from a bunch of the scrap papers I had from this paper collection, then moistened with water and gathered the bottom edge. It's been a crazy week, and a busy one (two blog posts in one day!) and I have lot's more projects to share. I hope next week will prove to be a better week (not holding my breath, I have a feeling this plumbing problem is going to drag out over a week). Maybe I should send this card to myself huh? :)
Maja Design has sponsored the whole StampARTic team with this beautiful collection, and today we want to show you these gorgeous papers and stamps used on all different kinds of paper projects. Maja Design paper is so beautiful that it is easy to make something nice of them. Today we continue on Maja's collection "Lantliv" and have many paper projects to show off. Lene Jannhild For this basket I have used Lantliv - Så frön. You can find the tutorial for this "Spå"-basket HER. Henrikke I made I stationary box for you this time. Is easy to make nice and small card with the Maja Design papers, because they all go so well together. If you have any leftover paper from other creations, this is a great way of using them. I made four big card, four small cards and 4 small tags. Marianne Eva Malin I made an album, wich is not quite ready...It's missing some swirls and small decorations, but since I haven't got them yet I'll show you the concept ;) (I'm giving it to my big brother on his 40'th birthday in april so I have time ;) and a Cookie jar for my mother and father on valentines day Minna I made this strawberry or picnic basket. I found this template from Silvie`s blog and it was just a perfect for these MajaDesign papers. Then I made these two tags:) Maissi Åsa I´ve made an mini album for my Hub for Valentines Day. Bettina I made a little calender for my mom. Its small and perfect for her to have in her handbag... Thank you so much Maja Design and Marie, for the fabulous papers. A true delight to be working with them!
Welcome and a very big hello ! Tina O with you here today. It has been a couple of months since I was last here and I am so very happy to be back on board creating again for Maja Designs. I have be…
Hi all! I'm excited to share with you today this uniquely shaped baby card I recently made. I tend to be a bit frugal with scrap supplies, I save everything! Those plastic/transparent pieces that many of your embellishments come on (blooms etc.), I don't throw them out, just in case I can use them later. I recently found a fun use for them....making easel cards with a peek-a-boo window. The Maja Design 'Vintage Baby Collection' had all the perfect elements to create the card I envisioned. I used a variety of papers from the Vintage Baby collection (Die Cuts, Die Cuts-bs, Ephemera, Expecting, Our Little Miracle and Flowers for Mom), I also did a little fussy cutting from Vintage Spring Basics (5th of May) and Coffee In the Arbour (Butterflies are Free). The bottom part of the card has an area for you to write in your own personal thoughts. I added some fussy cut blossoms attached with foam adhesive dots so that the window part of the card has something to prop against. Here is a picture of the card with it's folded shut. To make the card I cut out the framed baby design from the Vintage Baby Ephemera paper, also cutting out the area behind the baby inside the frame with an exacto-knife. I then laid the card cut out on the brown gingham paper (backside of the Die Cuts paper) and cut a piece slightly larger in wide to the frame piece...and kept the length of the strip the full 12 inches. I then cut a second piece of the gingham paper to frame the baby frame piece, making sure there is about a 1/4 inch edge. I then made a fold crease in the long strip at the 6" mark and at the 3" mark. I cut out the center of the upper part of the 6" rectangle and also out of the matting piece I cut for behind the baby frame. I then put the card together by attaching the gingham matting paper to the upper 3" of the long card strip and then sandwiching the transparent plastic piece between the matting and the actual baby frame piece. Now you have a cute peek-a-boo window on your easel card. The last steps are just adding a few decorations. I cut out a second baby image from another piece of the Ephemera paper and added it with foam pop dots, I thought it gave the card that extra pop. I also fussy cut some flowers from the Vintage Spring Basics paper and butterflies from the Coffee In the Garden collection and added them as decorations to my card front. A few seed beads for my flower centers and bingo, your unique baby card is done! The cool thing? Maja also has a beautiful baby boy framed image in this collection so you can make the card for either sex. It's hard to show in a photo the effect of the see through window so I thought I'd post an extra pic from the other angle, but believe me, in real life the effect is quite striking. I had a lot of fun creating this special baby card and think you'd enjoy it too! Don't know where to find Maja Design papers in North America? An awesome source is The Scrapbook Diaries. I based this card on this months Moodboard challenge at Maja Design, I chose to work with the pinks and browns....here is a pic of the Moodboard for February.... You can win a wonderful Maja Design paper collection if you play along using this months board as your inspiration for your project using Maja Design papers. The winner is announced on the last Monday of every month.....This month that would be Monday February 29th....so you still have time to play and possibly win a lovely Maja prize! You can find the challenge rule HERE. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and for the kind comments and feedback, your words always make my day! xo

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be sharing this post today for my Maja Design Team! (I have an awesome MAJA DESIGN GIVEAWAY today....further down the post!) and It's the first Tuesday of the month so that means it's time for the Maja Mood Board Challenge! I made the above page using the September Mood Board as my inspiration. The mood board colors are based on the 'Walking in the Forest' collection, and are just perfect for those autumn photos! The photo I scrapped above is of my daughters best friend, I took this photo when they were are the Maple Syrup festival, they were eating some of those huge smoked turkey legs, and her friend was hamming it up with the turkey bone :) As I mentioned I used the 'Walking in the Forest" collection for this page, here are the individual papers I used from this collection to make up the page... I used a bunch of Recollection blooms to decorate the page, and I found this clay bloom I made a little while back using Fimo and some Pearlex powder and a glass bead, I thought the colors went well with page so I just added it into my bloom cluster. The blue flower is from Petaloo and the chipboard is a border flourish from Dusty Attic that I cut in half and used in a couple of places on the page. I also used another Dusty Attic chipboard piece Berrie Branches to frame the photo. The mask I used around the photo is the Prima mask by Finnabiar. I used the Clearsnap Distress Ink in Denim and Honey. Have I mentioned how much I love the My Little Yellow Bicycle word stamps?! I just adore the swirly font they use, and the words are really the sort I can use for my everyday layouts! MAJA DESIGN GIVE-AWAY!!! Okay now for the fun part! Maja Design is bringing out their NEW Autumn collection called Vintage Autumn Basics! Here is a little peek at the collection.... All the beautiful vintage elements we've come to love about Maja Design papers (Ohhh, lovin' the clock design sheet!) I know I can't wait to get my happy little hands on this collection! But I can go one better than that! I have a full collection pack to give away to someone I will chose from the comments at this blog post! Maybe you remember that I told you 14 days ago that I had recived the gorgeous new papers from Maja Design? The new collection called Vintage Summer Basics. And now I have some new cards to show you. {You can also read this post in the Maja Design blog} As many knows it is soon confirmand time here in Norway, and I have a couple of cards to make. And since I don't have a lot of spare time, I have made matching sets with cards. And no colouring this time, that saves me a lot of time, since I usually use 1-3 hour painting a singel image. First I will show you some wallet cards that I have made. I got the inspiration from Petras lovely tutorial HERE, but I have changed it a bit. Under you see the front of one of the cards. Look at the lovely paper I have chosen here!:) Here is what it looks like inside. The texts are from Stempelglede. I have made the opening for the money with a Word Window Punch. With a card to write a greeting on inside. From the other side: My next wallet card: I have also stamped a text down inside the wallet. And here comes my third and last from this set. In gorgeous blue colours. Here is the back of all the three wallet cards: ♥♥♥ I have also made three more confirmand cards with this amazing papers. I think I am addicted;) For these cards I have used the stamp Maribel from Stempelglede. Also text and swirls are from them. The tag and butterfly are made with DooHickeys dies from Magnolia. Some close ups on some details: All the four cards: Hope you liked the new papers as much as I did!! Please visit the Maja Design blog for more inspiration with this goooorgeous papers!;) Thank you for visiting, and have a lovely weekend ♥
First off I wanted to share with you all the New April Mood Board Challenge for April from Maja Design, it's a really beautiful board based on the new Vintage Spring collection. As I've mentioned before, if you'd like to play with this mood board and have a chance at winning a lovely Maja design collection, you can find the information on the challenge HERE. I've been wanting scrap this cute photo of my little Great-niece Kiera for while now....and I just knew I wanted to use that awesome fishnet chippie from Dusty Attic Designs....actually I used a whole lotta the Dusty Attic for this one. I used the Grass Clusters #1, Grass Clusters #2, Ornate Corner, Shells, Mini Bird Houses, Fishnet Panel, Birds a Field, Corrugated Card, plus a number of the New Dusty In Color Paints (Navajo white, Bisque, Meadow Green, Hot Chocolate and the New Mixed Media Crackle finish....AND some of their new Mini-roses!! I painted all the pieces white to start with...then used a variety of inks and paints to lightly color the chippies. The papers are a mix of the gorgeous Maja Design papers from their Vintage Summer Basics collection and their Vintage Spring Basics collection. The blue and white blooms I used here are from a bargain bin at Michaels, and I just added leaves from Dusty Attic to finish up the bloom clusters.....I love these for the perfect finish for a cluster. I painted the little bird house with Navajo White, inked with some brown chalk ink and added a coat of the DA Crackle medium. For the shell I mixed a little sand into some Gesso to add a little texture to the shell. I added a little sea glass to finish the beach look. For the corner chippie I did a little script stamping and again added the Dusty Attic Crackle medium on top of it. Here's a full list of the goodies I used to make up this page: Supplies: Chipboard: Dusty Attic (Grass Clusters #1, Grass Clusters #2, Ornate Corner, Shells, Mini Bird Houses, Fishnet Panel, Birds a Field) Corrugated Card: Dusty Attic Paints and Mediums: Dusty Attic (Navajo White, Hot Chocolate, Meadow, Bisque), Dusty Attic Crackle Medium Flowers: Dusty Mini-roses (Caramel, Sky Blue), Dusty Leaves, Petaloo (white flower), Michaels Bargain bin blooms. Patterned Paper: Maja Design ~ Vintage Summer Basics (1905, 1934), Vintage Spring Basics (April 7th) Stamps: Bo Bunny Script Stamp Rub-on: Daisy D's Other: Burlap, Cheese-cloth, loose buttons, Shells, Sea Glass, Bo Bunny Jewels Is everyone else as ready for the beach as I am? Goodness! We went to the Maple Syrup Festival here in Ontario and it was soooo cold! We had a blast and ate some great food but boy, am I ready for summer!
Hi everyone! For today's project I thought I would have some fun mixing collections. I just love pouring through my Maja Design papers and picking and choosing which designs I want to put together to make up a project! For this page I think I dipped into quite a few collections! For the base of the layout I used papers from the Sofiero collection, then for the fussy cut blooms and clocks I used paper from Vintage Autumn Basics. I even used a little strip of scrap paper I had left from Vintage Summer Basics (1922-bs) the small scallop strip with white dots, and some butterflies from Vintage Spring Basics. The photo I scrapped was one taken of my oldest daughter Chloe when we were out on a walk :) Here is a close-up of the center piece of my layout, so you can see the fussy cut blooms and clocks that I adhered with foam pop dots so that they would stand up from the page. The chipboard frame is from Dusty Attic (Decorative Scroll #1) that I coated with Gesso, stamped and finished with a crackle varnish. I did a lot of inking and spritzing for this page as well as a little bit of masking with stencils and texture paste. I used a little bit of Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet along the bottom edge of the diagonal strip before I used a Crafters Workshop (Damask 6x6) stencil along the edge. For Spraying I used Lindy's 'Clam bake Biege' and Perfect Pearls 'Intereference Red' (it's more of a pink color with lots of shimmer). (most of these goodies are stuff that I have left from kits from The Scrapbook Diaries a great source in the USA/Canada for Maja Design products!) I used another stencil in the top right corner (Prima Flourish 12x12) as well as lots of fun stamps, Prima Stitches Stamps, Bo Bunny Distressed stamps. Added a little washi tape (Freckled Fawn) and added more fussy cut images from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection. (I used the rose blooms from the Vintage Autumn Basics collection rather than the roses from the Sofiero collection, which I used for the background, because the images were a little deeper in color and I thought would work better for a fussy cut bloom. Maja Design Supplies: Sofiero Collection (Enjoying the Fragrance-bs, Strolling Down the Rose Path-bs), Vintage Autumn Basics (No. II, No. XVI, VI-bs), Vintage Spring Basics (6th of May - fussy cut butterflies), Vintage Summer Basics (1922-bs) Thanks for stopping by today and for the kind comments! xo xo
Hi everyone! I have another fun mixed media canvas to share with you today, another 8x10 canvas I made using a variety of Shimmerz products, Dusty Attic Chipboard and Maja Design papers! This time around I thought I would go for a Shabby-chic design. For this project I used the following Shimmerz products: I used the following Dusty Attic Products: ~ Baroque Corners ~ White Mini Roses ~ Divine Divas (winged dress form) ~ Ornate Frame #3 I used the following Maja Design Collections: ~ Coffee In the Arbour ~ Crea Diem As always I thought it would be best to show you all my process by making a video tutorial that shows all the steps in creating this canvas. I did make the actual corset embellishment that is the centerpiece of the project with some Martha Stewart air dry clay, it's easily made so I figured that you didn't need a tutorial on making the embellishment. (BTW, I know that many of you asked for a video tutorial on how I made the Mermaids Tail in the last video I made for Shimmerz so I got that done over the weekend, you can find the video tutorial for the Mermaids Tail HERE. So if you needed that extra little bit of help to make your own mermaid project just click on the link and you've got it :) So here you go, enjoy! xo I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and will give some of these techniques a try....here are a few close-ups that you can view at your own pace... I love the deep bronze shimmer the Shimmerz Brass Knuckles Inklingz, it really got me the look of a vintage mirror frame (Dusty Attic's Ornate Frame #3) that I was going for. The soft pearly look of the Tutti-Frutti dazzlers gives the corset a lovely feminine shabby-chic look. It's hard to see it in this photo but there are these beautiful shimmery bits of mica in the Sugar Plum Shimmerz paint that adds a subtle amount of glitter to the background design (you can see it better in the video). I feel like the plums and pinks from Shimmerz are a really good match for the colors in the Maja Design papers! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and hope that you will give these wonderful products and fun techniques a try in your mixed media projects! And don't forget to get your BONUS/Free Shimmerz product in your next order, just put my name "Gabrielle' into the INSTRUCTIONS FOR MERCHANT part of your order and your will receive a FREE Bottle of Shimmerz or Dimensionz or a sample size jar of Dazzlerz or Texturez in the color of your choice! xo
Hi there and welcome to the blog this fantastic Tuesday..! It’s time to pick a winner of our combined mood board for January and February. Once again I’m totally stunned by the response…
Hello and welcome back to the Maja Design Blog! It’s Nancy here, with the honor of sharing a new card with you. Today my card is very personal. It is an expression of the love I have for the …
Hello everyone, Gabrielle here with you today! Yup, I'm back for a little guest spot! When I received the gorgeous Vintage Romance collection in the mail a couple weeks ago, I felt compelled to make up a layout & video tutorial with these stunning papers! I used 'Happily Ever After', 'Together Forever' and 'Words of Love' for my page design. I was going for a fabricky (is that a word? LOL) look on this layout, so I added a little machine stitching on the background design, this is optional, I think it can look equally as nice if you leave that off (if you are not a sewer). As always, no project is complete for me without a nice smattering of Dusty Attic products. For this page I used the following: ~ Wildflower #3 ~ Chicken Wire Panel (small) ~ Word Pack #10 ~ Vintage Frame #4 ~ Dusty Attic 'Flower Power' Stencil ~ Dusty Attic Glaze Varnish So grab your favorite beverage, take a little break and enjoy!.... I hope you enjoyed my little video tutorial, here are a few closeups for you to check out at your leisure.... I have this close-up turned on it's side just so you can get a more close-up and personal look at it. I simply followed the pattern in the paper to create my button hole design...makes it easy to space out the design. The next step was to add a little color just directly behind the photo area using some Shimmerz spray called 'See Ya Latte' Spritz....then I applied some home-made texture paste through a Dusty Attic stencil called Flower Power. I was going for a kind of Bohemian-chic look and I thought this daisy design would work well with it. I also matted my photo with the backside of the 'Words of Love' paper, I do love browns with blues! To continue the fabric idea of my page I also included a pretty strip of lace that I got from Tresor's de Luxe (my favorite source for beautiful lace!), which I adhered with Tombow liquid adhesive. I prefer this glue as it allows you to readjust your placement if need be without making a big mess on the paper (let the glue sit for a few minutes to set up before you apply your embellishment to the page. I had a little fun with my embellishments on this one....I tried a new product (at least to me) called Prills, they are these little balls that come in different colors. Here I using the color called A-maized. I just applied a little glue to the tops of the blossoms of the Wild-Flowers #4 chippie by Dusty Attic and poured the little pebbles onto it.....I really love the effect! I finished my design by adding some layered floral and butterfly stickers by K&Company in a few strategic areas of my photo area. Added a small shabby-chic bench embellishment by Prima and a few adhesive pearls on the lace panel. Done! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial today and hope you feel inspired to try your hand with the gorgeous new Vintage Romance collection and Dusty Attic chippies and stencils. If you are looking for a great online source for Dusty Attic and Maja Design products, you can find both at The Scrapbook Diaries. I'm always delighted to read your comments and feedback, they simply make my day, thank-you! xo
Hi all, today I have another page to share with you using Maja Design papers and Dusty Attic Chipboard (as well as a few lovely page accents sent to me from Lucy at Tresors de Luxe). As I was scrapping this recent photo of my youngest daughter, I was struck by how much she's grown up. I can't believe she is a teenager now (turned 13 over the summer). I miss her being my baby girl, but I also have enjoyed every stage of her life, this girl cracks me up with her funny sense of humour and quirky style. For this page I used a modge podge of Maja Design papers. I more often than not combine a variety of Maja papers, coordinating them by color rather than collection name. I used a variety of scraps in neutral tones and greens to make my rolled paper accents. I rolled up the scraps and then bound them with some twine. I added a fun l'il door hook on the side of my paper from Ingvild Bolme's Junkyard Findings. I used a variety of Dusty Attic chipboard as part of my page design, including a Skeleton Clock Frame, Foliage, and the 'So Sweet' title. For the frame I first painted the pieces with some white Gesso. Then I randomly dabbed on some 'Broken China' and 'Peeled Paint' Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I did a little edging with Ingvild Bolme's 'Branch Bark' Chalk Ink. Then I added a coat of Inksenttials Crackle Medium. When it was dry and crackled I dabbed on some 'Walnut Stain' Distress ink so that it got in the little cracks and whipped off the excess ink. I used the 11th of March-bs paper as the green background frame for my page and as the main background paper I used the backside of 'Flannel Shirt' paper from 'Walking in the Forest Collection'....this is one of my favorite papers to use as a nice neutral background, especially when I do some mixed media on the page as I did here. I used a bit of Broken China and Peeled Paint Distress ink pads on the page and added some texture with home-made texture paste and a Crafter's Workshop Stencil called 'Mini Damask'. The butterfly is an image that I printed on a piece of transparency and cut out. I wanted to keep my blossoms soft and clean, so I went with a burlap bloom from Petaloo and two white blossoms from Dusty Attic Designs. The small sugared dots are from Prima. The strip of lace I used on the bottom of the page and the natural floral cluster (just above the title) are both from Tresors de Luxe. I had a little fun with the title. First I gave it a coat of brown chalk ink 'Knotted Wood' by Ingvild Bolme, then I used some 'Waterfall' Stickles in the center of my alpha's. After it all dried I gave the whole thing a coat of gloss medium with some Glossy Accents. Maja Design Products used in this project: Vintage Spring Basics (11th of March-bs, 7th of April, 7th of April-bs), Antiglen (Kaffe på trappan), Walking in the Forest (Flannel Shirt-bs), Sofiero (brown dot). I hope you enjoyed today's project and hope you find yourself some time this week to get your Maja on. Dusty Attic Products used in this project: ~ Skeleton Clock Frames ~ Foliage ~ 'So Sweet' title chippie Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, you ladies are all awesome, the comments you leave here really touch my heart, thanks for that! xo xo
Hi all! I recently got a whole bunch of photos of my adorable little great-nieces from their sweet mom Danielle. Lots of pretty autumn photos, so I decided to scrap them using a variety of Maja design collection papers and some NEW Dusty Attic chipboard designs. Green has always been one of my favorite colors to scrap, but lately I've been scrapping a lot of pinks and purples. I thought it was high time to play with some of my old favorite green toned papers mixed with some soothing neutrals. I love the warm green in the Ska vi ta en Fika collection, so I used one as my backdrop for my layout design. I then chose one of the neutral papers from the same collection for my next layer. I wanted to play a bit with the side edges so I chose to use a chipboard Zipper design From Dusty Attic, moistened the sides of the papers and pulled back the paper in the center, creating small pleats. I then attached the zipper chipboard pieces (painted with some Bronze 3D paint (Scribbles) and glued it behind the edges of the paper. The title and the number chippies are from Dusty Attic as well. There are some tag images in the Walking in the forest collection, so I cut these out to used along the top of the photo as a page accent and a place to put a little journaling. I also cut another tag out of a Coffee In the Arbour paper and stamped one of my Signature Word stamps 'fabulous' that I recently released. These are all words I like to use on my scrapbook pages, done in my own handwriting. (My word stamps can be found at The Scrapbook Diaries, along with all my other stamp designs). The title is from a new collection of hash tag words from Dusty Attic :) I wanted to keep the page accents naturalistic so I chose a new Dusty Attic chipboard piece called Wildflowers #3 to add alongside my photo of my two little great nieces. And finally in the corner of the photo I accented with a few blooms from a tin of flowers from Recollections. I did a bit of background stamping as well with some green Moss Lawn color from Ingvild Bolme. Maja Design Products used in this project: Ska vi ta en Fika? (Smulpaj m Applen, Havrerujor, Pratstund), Walking in the Forest (Klippark, Flannel Shirt), Vintage Autumn Basics (XVI), Vintage Frost Basics (Days of December), Coffee in the Arbour (Feel the Grass Between Your Toes). Thanks so much for stopping by the Maja blog today! Hope you get a chance to play today! xo You can find Maja Design papers at The Scrapbook Diaries, Janene has a large selection of Maja Design papers in a variety of collections, including the newest Maja paper line called "A Gift for You'. She also has a nice variety of Dusty Attic Chipboard....you can find Dusty Attic Chipboard in Canada at The Scrapping Bug as well. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I can't thank you all enough for the kind feedback I've been receiving, you all make my day! xo xo
Evan when he was about 7 months old For this layout of my older son, Evan (so many years ago, he'll be 16 this December), I used some Maja Design papers from their Vintage Autumn Basics collection. Vintage Autumn Basics - No. XXII BS Vintage Autumn Basics - No. XXIII BS Vintage Autumn Basics - No. XIII BS (I used this for the small doily die-cuts) I carefully ripped off two large corners from the striped paper and distressed the edges. I stencilled these pieces with molding paste tinted with paint and applied a wash of watercolour over the stencilled areas. Memory Box stencil - Splatter I then glued lace and a wired bow trim along the corners. I like to use Beacon's 3-in-1 glue because it has some tack right from the start and also enables some shifting of objects before it dries. It has to be applied carefully because it can be messy and stringy but I've never had a problem with anything falling off like I did in the past when I used glue tape or glue dots and it doesn't bleed through the paper like some white glues. For very delicate die cuts where the Beacon's 3-in-1 is too messy I will use Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue. As usual, I layered the die-cuts over an offset darker version (in this case, black) to accent the edges. I cut the rectangular die-cuts from an old piece of My Mind's Eye paper from their BellaBella collection. These are the dies I used: Cheery Lynn Designs - Deutschland Boutique Stacker A2 Frame Cheery Lynn Designs - Rum Punch Tiny Doily Cheery Lynn Designs - Ambergris Tiny Doily Cheery Lynn Designs - Italian Flourish Tiny Doily The tiny baby toys placed on the loose weave burlap along the flower vine were made with a mold and Sculpey Ultra Light clay, then painted. Baby Accessories III by Sunflower Sugar Art The large crocheted doilies were purchased from an Etsy shop called FlowerMadeVintage a number of years ago. For the chipboard flourish, I applied a thick, sloppy coat of heavy gesso, painted it green and then lightly brushed white paint overtop to highlight the texture. 2Crafty - Leafy Shrub Set 1 Thanks for taking a look!

Goodmorning lovely viewers, Sunny and warm days are on it’s way as summer soon will land here in Holland! Oh and how I am in need of some sunshine because I have to say I am not such a fan of…
Morning everyone, I am here today with one of the new images from Saturated Canary, Denise. I have recently been introduced to Inktense Pencils, so at the end of this post I am going to give you an overview of what Dena has taught me, and what I have learned colouring the 3 images I have coloured so far. The papers are from my favourite Maja Design collection, Shall We Have Coffee? The edges have been distressed with a Tim Holtz tool and then some Walnut Stain ink. I have also used the new Lovely View Die from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps. Click on the links at the end of the post to go to all of the products that I have used from Live and Love Crafts. On Saturday gone I went to LOTV, and Dena was there demo'ing the Inktense pencils, when I got home I found that I had the full collection sitting on my shelf. I had a little play on Saturday, and this is now the third image I have coloured, and I love them :) I have found it better to make myself a colour chart, I have a blank one for you to snag too, but if you would like the PDF version drop me an e-mail and I will send you it, beckyheth @ gmail . com (with no spaces) or click the link in my sidebar. A little really does go a long way, and your brush needs to be practically dry. Here I have used the paper suggested by Dena, but and water colour paper works OK. The colour combo's that I have found helpful are: Skin: Carmine Pink and Saddle brown, mixed together, then Baked Earth, then Sepia Ink. Hair: Amber, then Oak and then Sepia Ink. I really don't know much more than this just yet, but this is a great place to start off. As always, if you have a question, just ask. Hi everyone! It's me Gabrielle here with you today to share my latest project using some fun new chippies from Dusty Attic and some Vintage Spring Basics collection mixed in with a little bit of Vintage Summer and Autumn Basics from Maja Design. I began by first using a Martha Stewart edge/corner punch on the edges of a neutral paper from the Vintage Summer Basics collection (1899). I then did a little inking with some Donna Salazar Distress Ink (Denim) and used a Heidi Swapp stencil and homemade texture paste over the inked areas. The photo is one of my great nieces that my nephew's wife Danielle was kind enough to share with me. I wanted to keep the design light and airy and playful like the photo of Jade and at the same time play up the blues in the photo. To make the floral design I used some super cute Dusty Attic chipboard (Spider Crysanthemum and Flower Buds), painted white and tinted with some blue and green chalk inks (Versa Magic Inks). I punched tiny blooms using a floral punch (Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch) on some cardstock and the left over strips of paper from the background (tinted blue at the edges, ). The butterfly is from Tattered Angels, Nature Glimmer Glass (I'm trying to use up bits of old stash with each layout I create). I just love the little strips at the bottoms of the paper collections (not even sure what it says, LOL) but I love the pretty design element they add to a page! I just adore the new cute l'il heart arrows, they make fun accents for a page. For the one I used above, I simply painted it with white gesso, inked it with some blue Distress ink (Denim) and brown chalk ink. I finished the design by adding some Dusty Attic Gloss Medium to the heart to give it a glassy look. For some reason I really love the way burlap looks with the blues in this collection. In keeping with the neutral accents, I chose a Prima flower in a natural fabric and added some smaller blooms in blue from Petaloo (Darjeeling collection...Love these blooms, I think they are a perfect match for the blues in the Maja collections). And I also used some more clock cut-outs from the Vintage Autumn Basics (I just love this paper for embellishing my layouts, the clocks seem to add a nice touch to any layout whether masculine or feminine). Dusty Attic Products used for this project: ~ Spider Crysanthemum ~ Flower Buds ~ Heart Arrows #2 ~ Hinges ~ Dusty In Color Gloss Varnish ~ Dusty In Bloom (Latte) Maja Design products used for this project: Patterned Paper: Vintage Spring Basics (4th of April, 4rth of April-bs, 5th of April), Vintage Summer Basics (1899), Vintage Autumn Basics (XVI) Again, if you are looking for Dusty Attic or Maja Design Products, I have a listing in my side panel of my blog with links to online stores. I can tell you that some great sources for these products are The Scrapbook Diaries (USA), Moments of Tranquility (USA), Vicky Alberto's Etsy Shop (Canada). Thanks so much for stopping by today and checkin' out my blog, your kind comments and feedback just make my day! xo
I just love this photo of my sweet niece, taken a few years ago of her and her dog Dahlia. She has recently gotten married and Dahlia is getting up there in age, but I think it's so sweet the way she cares for and love's her first pet. I made this page for The Scrapbook Diaries, a very unique kit store. Janene had me create a page and make up a step by step video tutorial that comes with purchase of the kit (you get unlimited access to the video when you buy the kit), ....she puts together a kit just filled with all the yummy goodies I used to create this page, pretty much everything you need to make this layout other than glue. I used lots of pretty Maja Design papers for this one as well as some really fun mixed media products, 2 colors of Lindy's mists/sprays, one of my all time favourite Bo Bunny Stamp sets, Prima flowers, metal accents, pebbles, lace, some very beautiful chipboard, wood accents and more. You can find more information on this kit and video at The Scrapbook Diaries Blog. Here is a close-up of some of the lovely goodies you'll find in the kit....I'm loving the page pebbles and the delicate little wood accents I used to frame the clock designs. Here are a few more close-ups of my page.... If this page is something you would like to try out, you can find the kit here ... The Scrapbook Diaries Kit "Love Beyond Measure". Her kits are always an amazing value given all the unique and premium products she includes in them. You are given 2 options, the Complete Kit and the Basic Kit (the Basic kit is a great money saving option if you already have some of the elements I used for the page like the stamps or mists...both options of course include unlimited access to the video tutorial that goes with the kit. Or you can always shop for item's a la carte in her store as well (she has a great supply of Maja Design papers!). Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate all the lovely feedback, I read them all and try to answer your questions and suggestions to the best of my ability. xo xo
