One of my favorite punches is the Owl Builder. It's such a versatile punch that can be used for many things. Check out this photo of samples that I got from Pinterest - all were created using the Owl Builder punch. I've even seen it used to create minions, goblins & witches, snowman, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. The possibilities are endless. The card I am sharing is a Congratulations card which is timely because of graduation. I used all retiring In Colors ink pads and card stocks. I CASED this card from a swap I received from a fellow demo, Kathy Maurer. Except hers was a Fancy Fold style card. This card would be awesome to convert into a Gift Card holder, too. Well, that's all I have for today. Noooo, I can't believe it's time to return to the office. I need a couple more days to chill. I am so going to miss my afternoon naps. Where is that crying emoji when you really need it? Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week, everyone! Below is the list of products used to create this card. Today is the last day to order from the 2015/2016 Stampin' Up! catalog. Tomorrow is going to be a brand new year. Yay! Hi, I have had a lovely day today at the Stamp Magic Show at the Dome in Doncaster, I am posting my Owls as promised. Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog Thanks to all who made my first Stampin' Up show great fun. Love Debs xx
I was able to look over the shoulder of one of my fellow demonstrators who was swapping in Orlando and spotted a card with this punched owl holding a diploma by Alecia Connelly. I added glasses to make his IQ soar and gave him the stage on a simple fold card! This scholarly guy will be a hoot for all the graduation
Every so often I see pictures on Pinterest that feature the Owl Builder Punch (Found on page 167 of the current annual catalogue - £16.00), or more specifically things made that may not be owls. A friend asked if I knew how to make some of these alternative creatures, so I set about looking around for ideas & designs. It was decided that the Craft & Chat held today at Tesco Extra in Lincoln was going to feature 'Owl Builder' Punch Art. In preparation I created 16 examples of other uses for the Owl Punch, some of them also used other punches (also from the Stampin' Up! Catalogue). In the end I had created: Hippo, Reindeer, Cat, Dog, Penguin, Pig, Frog and several more. Here are all of the examples I created, the only ones created by me was the Red Vase of flowers and the Black & White Dog (I have not been able to attribute them to individuals as it has proved virtually impossible to trace the creators of each). If additional punches have been used I have added this by each creature. During the Craft & Chat we were discussing using the punch to create a Snowman... we nearly had him designed, but was not able to actually try it out as we ran out of time. So once home I got playing and did also create a Snowman. All in all this punch is great value for £16, not only can you create owls but many more animals... the items I created are just the start, if you look at Pinterest you will find 1,000s of examples. Happy Creating :)
Six years ago today, my brother and sister-in-law got married on a beautiful beach in Hawaii! Today, they have two beautiful children and fun life together. I have known them for most of those six years, and they are a couple that I look up to in how their handle their marriage and in how they have raised their family. I couldn't imagine anyone more perfect for either of them. Happy anniversary, S +K! Six down, a lifetime to go...and I know you can't wait! Love you, both!!! I sent this card to them this week - hopefully they got it so this won't ruin the surprise! I found the inspiration here. I adapted it a bit because I wanted to use my Owl Builder Punch rather than create them from a variety of circles and ovals. I also chose to use patterned paper rather than cardstock and dry embossing. The tree branches were made with the Bird Builder Punch: I punched three from Early Espresso cardstock and three from Old Olive Cardstock. Then I cut the leaves off the green punchies by hand and adhered them to the brown punchies. The flowers were punched from the Tree Builder Punch. To add some texture, I ran the Early Espresso cardstock through my Big Shot Machine inside a Wood Grain Embossing folder, and then cut the tree shape by hand. To add some interest and depth, I popped the owls up with Dimensionals and topped the flowers off with Pearls. I loved using the "Happy Together" sentiment that was in the Sale-a-bration Pedal Pusher set. Unfortunately, that set is no longer available, but the small anniversary sentiment in the Teeny Tiny Wishes would work well here! I hope you enjoyed my punch card! Have a great weekend!!! :)
Good morning my lovely readers!! I am still in PJ mode this morning as Evan has a training day so its been nice not to have to get dressed yet and take him to school!!! I am loving the Owl punch as are lots of my customers and I keep thinking of different ways to use him/her!! The punch is so versatile and great for many different cards, todays offering is a female birthday card. I made this one with my lovely new downline Sally when she came over for training on Wednesday. I have used a Crumb Cake card base and then Regal Rose DSP from the fantastic valued paper packs. I used a Top Note die in Very Vanilla and wrapped it over the edge of the card. The flowers are made using one of the punches from the Itty Bitty set and I added a rhinestone in the middle of them, the leaves are from the Little Leaves die - another popular item this month and great value at only £4.95 - its a great addition to the Owl punch so you can create something for him/her to sit on! I finished the card off with some Old Olive taffeta ribbon and a sentiment from the Curly Cute set. Hope you like my card, I was really pleased with this one. Back tomorrow with another Owl Card Jules x Supplies Used: (All Stampin Up! Unless Otherwise Stated) 1. Card – Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla 2. Papers – Regal Rose DSP 3. Stamps – Curly Cute 4. Embellishments – Old Olive taffeta, Rhinestones 5. Tools – Itty Bitty punch, The Big Shot, Top Note die, Owl Punch, Little Leaves die 6. Mediums – Chocolate Chip ink
I didn't get a chance to get into my stamping room yesterday :-(, but I did make a card in My Digital Studio :-). I don't actually own the owl punch YET, but I totally plan to get him cause' he is sooooo stinkin' cute!!! I do, however, own the digital owl punch for My Digital Studio, so I still get to play with him- hoot hoot hooray!! And here he is............... I am so going to make this card for real when I get this adorable owl punch! Just so ya' know, the left wing is not part of the owl punch, but is actually the wing from the Two Step Bird punch- here on this card as a digital punch, but I own the 'real' punch :-D. I LOVE My Digital Studio for designing cards and scrapbook pages before I ever cut into my paper. It's so easy to change out papers, embellishments, stamps, punches (all digital of course) until you like what you see. MDS will also give you the measurements, so you can go create the card exactly as you designed it in MDS. How cool is that?!!! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!!! Blessings! Hoi hoi ! I'm hoping a visit from this handsome owl will deliver a delightful birthday wish. It was great fun getting this guy "dressed" up using the Stampin' Up! Owl Punch. He seems quite a home as part of this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO197). STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS: The
I had a friend and customer request a special graduation card (Hi Lorene!). I was stumped until I created the Black and Red Owl Card in THIS post. Then I knew what I wanted to do. I created a Grad Owl using the 2 Step Owl Punch by Stampin' Up! This is such a fantabulous punch, every time I make or see an owl using this punch, it is just as cute as all the other ones, and the possibilities are limitless for its use. Here is the Grad Owl I came up with ...... This picture shows Graddy (cute name huh?) on the card I created. Come back tomorrow and I will share that card with you. Meanwhile here is a picture of the "how to" card ... Most of it is self explanatory, except for the "hat". For the part that sits on the head, I punched out part of the small star punch (it is now retired, but you can use the small star from the Stars #2 Die), then I used the 3/4" x 15/16" oval punch to punch it out. Then you cut off the extra pieces on the side, that gives you a pointed hat looking piece for the head. Then for the square mortar board part I cut out a 3/4" piece of cardstock, drew lines from point to point on both sides, then measured in 1/8" on two opposite points, and 1/4" on the remaining opposite points. Then I hand cut between the marks (I hope that is clear enough for you). You can adapt this punch image to any school colour by adjusting the colour of the sash and the tassel. You could even put glasses on it if you wish. Back tomorrow with the card Graddy is sitting on ......
I needed to make a card for my brother-in-law and all my ideas required stamps I didn’t have….so I decided to make him one that would appeal to his kids!
Well I decided to do a post about the owl punch, I think this punch is so versatile with what you can make with it. Try googling the owl punch on the internet and you will see the ideas are endless. I have made a couple of sheets of examples that I found on the internet that others have made and also came up with some of my own ideas as well.
This is the fifth Owl Punch tutorial card I made for my class attendees, you can see the first here, second here, third here and fourth here as I said in my other posts many ideas have been CASEd and modified from years ago…
A blog about Stampin Up, scrappbooking & card making.
Tonight is our big swap at Founder's Circle! We were asked by Stampin' Up! to bring 135 swaps!! That's a lot of cards! :) I made the top 1/2 of my card using MY DIGITAL STUDIO and used 'real' Night Owl Designer Paper on the bottom portion (see pg 9 holiday mini catalog, item #123012), then tied it with Stampin' Up! Basic Black Satin Ribbon and layered it onto Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black Cardstock. I've had lots of questions about the 'witch hat' I made in MDS ... here is a tutorial for you .. these are the pieces I

Today I spent some time with Scott, my technical support person for my blog ... he is a friend of my son, Jeremy ... and has spent several hours helping me to set up my website ... and then set up my blog. I so appreciate his help. Thank you Scott!!! Today he showed me a few new ways to improve my blog, so I'll be working on that over the next few months. Today's CAS challenge is a color challenge (CAS168 - chocolate, green and white or ivory). This is such a classic color combination and I had lots of ideas for cards, but settled on one using my owl punch from SU! Hope you like. "Happy Birthday Bouquet" Stamp: Happy Moments - sentiment (SU!) Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi, Just Add Cake DP (SU!) Ink: Early Espresso (SU!) Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Wildflower Patch die-cut (Poppy Stamps), 2-Step Owl Punch, Early Espersso twine, mat pack, stylus, white gel pen, Tombow glue, glue dots, sticky strips, and dimensionals I started with the owl. I punched him out with Early Espresso and Whisper White cardstocks and punched out the vest with the Wild Wasabi polka-dot DP from Just Add Cake DP. I punched out an extra owl body and cut out one of the "feet" to be used for an arm and hand to hold the bouquet. I glued all the parts together and glued the tip of the arm to the back of the owl's body. Next I ran the Wildflower Patch die-cut through my Big Shot with both Wild Wasabi cardstock and Whisper White cardstock. I cut the heads of three of the white flowers and glued them on top of the matching green flowers with stems. I cut off three small heads from green flowers and used my mat pack and stylus to shape the flower heads into a cup shape. I glued these to the center of my three flowers. I used the white gel pen to add a dot in the very center of each flower. I gathered the flowers together and tied a bow around them using Early Espresso twine. I added a 1" strip of Wild Wasabi polka-dot DP to the top of my Whisper White card front. I wrapped more Early Espresso twine around and tied a bow and then used sticky strips to mount the card front onto a card base of Early Espresso (for stability). I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink and then mounted the owl just above, popping it up with dimensionals to add depth. I added three rolled up glue dots to the bouquet (one behind the bow, and one on each of the back two flowers) and then secured the bouquet to the owl's "hand". For the inside of the card, I added a 1" strip of Wild Wasabi polka-dot DP to the top of a Whisper White card panel. ____________________ Today I'm adding a new recipe to the "Baking" tab of this blog. I usually only add sweet treats, but I posted a picture of the Spanakopita Rolls that I made the other day and had a request from Marcia to include the recipe. This is for your Marcia!! Hope you have fun making these for your church tea! Spanakopita Rolls
Hello, as promised below is my quick photo tutorial for how to create the Easter Basket for my Punch Art Bunny Card. I hope you find this helpful. If you have any questions feel free to comment below, or contact me and I will get back to you. I apologize for the poor quality but I used my iPhone.
It may be dull and rain-sodden outside my windows, but I feel sunny after my day of crafting. I have been keeping up with the laundry and housework throughout the week, so I rewarded myself with a day of play. This is the layout I mentioned yesterday that I had started after work, the finishing touches were added before I went to bed ( in between a secret project, blogging, planning a card class and beating dad on mindjolt games - insert evil laugh here) It is very unusual for me to use yellow - far too close to the colour orange to be comfortable for me, but Rob was wearing a bright yellow t-shirt ( gone are the days when I could choose their attire to match my favourite scrapbook products !) This morning, in between creating a sample for my upcoming workshop ( lots of paint, inks and altered yumminess - therefore little gaps of drying time and opportunities to multi-task ) I created a layout with a photo of Amy, alas the looming rainclouds scuppered all attempts at a decent photo so I will share that with you all tomorrow ( sunshine permitting ) But as promised I do have my little critters to share with you, they are all made mainly from the Stampin'Up owl punch and were a hoot to make - geddit !!! Sorry, the act of creating these little monsters was far too much fun for an adult. Neil is seriously concerned for my sanity, he hasn't yet managed to wrap his head around the whole ATC concept. Then when he rings me from work and inquires as to what I am doing, my reply of "I am making a nurse out of an owl" left him speechless, which anyone who knows Neil will tell you is quite an achievement ! Anyhow, here are the ones I have made so far ( lots more in the pipeline) My little aliens Giraffe, pig, sheep, cow, lion Rudolph and a robin Kermit Pirate, nurse Carole, chef Ramsey (notice the mad eyes lol) and Jenny the graduate. I also decided that I would start mounting them, here is the teacher Bat and ghost Wicked witch and Frankenstein What am I going to do with all my little owlie creatures you may be pondering, well I am halfway through altering an old book, so they will all be mounted and added to the book. No they are not terribly clever, or chic, they won't be a class or mean anything much to anyone else, in fact, even I recognise they are plain old silly, but you know what ? they are really fun and sometimes even grown ups need to do something............. just because !!! Happy crafting - silly or otherwise xxx
