Hello crafty friends, I'm here with the second inspirational post for the May challenge of the Country View Challenges, called Tea Party but you can do projects with Birthday Party or any Anniversary Party. Here is mine with a birthday party this time. And here is my tutorial. I made a folded card from a light cream cardstock, then I adhered a dark brown panel on it. Now here comes the creative part. I took a paper from the Menagerie 8x8" Paper Stash and blended Spun Sugar ink onto the surface. Then inked the edges with Gathered Twigs ink. Then I took a 300gsm watercolour paper and stamped, then heat embossed with the Lattice background stamp from the Lattice&Flourish stamp set (CMS257). For this, I used the Princess Gold embossing powder. Then I blended the surface with diluted Antique Linen ink. This is why I needed a watercolour paper. Here I inked the edges with Gathered Twigs as well. The ladies were in one of the Paper Dolls set and I coloured with Distress Crayons. For this technique, you can find a perfect tutorial at Paula Cheney, I followed her rules too. The hat was stamped with Hickory Smoke Archival ink and coloured with Distress markers (Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade) and you can find the actual stamp in the Mini Crazy Birds&Things stamp set. In the end, I sealed them with Distress Resist Spray. For this, I spritzed a little amount of Resist Medium onto a plastic sheet, then I tapped them onto the surface with a piece of sponge. The text was in the Metallic Stickers Quotations set and I placed a piece of gold paper from the Metallic Kraft Paper Stash. The flowers were made earlier. But I'm sure, I used the Tiny Tattered Florals for the white part and the Small Tattered Florals for the blue part. I also used the latter die set for the leaves. I added a little gold paint to the edges for making them more elegant. I put a tiny pearl in the middle of my flower. I used the same gold paint to colour the thin Star Trim paper. If you have a project related to our May theme, please don't hesitate to join us where you can win a £20 voucher.
Yes, that's right I'm Bird freakin' Crazy for Tim Holtz's new Bird Crazy stamps! It's my day over at Cut@Home today. Be sure to stop by there to see more details, but I wanted to share with you here a couple of the cards that use Unity {Have Some Sass} sentiments (because it's FWF Friday). I stamped the "sorry" part of this stamp on the inside of the card. The paper on the first card is from Heartfelt Creationz Majestic Morning and Spellbinders Celebra'tions prints and solids on the second. They are embellished with Timeless Twine, 3 Girl JAM ribbon, Bella Creationz Sequins and The Pearl Girl pearls. Here's my video that shows all of the cards I made with these Bird Crazy stamps. Thanks for stopping by today, and have a GREAT weekend! Craftily yours, Karen

Welcome back and Nancy, here, to share a steampuckcard made with new 2023 arrival of Sizzix Thinlits Dies by Tim Holtz - Gentlemen along with the Tim Holtz Lucky Love Impression die and Prima Marketing Rusty Pipeline mould. This card measures 5" x 6" and I will go over what I did and you can do the same or come up with your own fabulous ideas. I love these two older Tim Holtz embossing folders and used silver metallic cardstock, sprayed lightly water on the back of the cardstock and ran through my Sizzix Big Shot about three times. I cut out part of one embossing folder and glued to the other. I used my fingers to smear Prima Marketing Redesign Brass wax along with Prima Marketing Charcoal Black wax around the embossing. I sponged on Distress Campfire and Black Soot ink by just using the ink pad flat with the embossing folder on parts of the embossing folder. I sponged the gears and cogs with my new favorite Prima Marketing Redesign Brass wax along with another Prima Marketing Firebird wax and Charcoal Black. I used Prima Marketing Redesign Brass wax with Prima Marketing Firebird wax on the Prima Marketing Rusty Pipeline mould casting. I used an epoxy resin for my mould and let dry over night before coloring and adhering to my card. I used the small pipes in this mould for this card. I added a few other metal embellishments from my stash and adhered these to the card with Beacon 3-in-1 Advanced Glue. I brushed on ReDesign - Decor Wax 1.69 oz (50 ML) - Brass on the Sizzix Gentlement die cuts since I wanted to tone down the black die cut men and have other embellishments to be as noticeable on the card. I cut out the 4-Leaf clovers with the Sizzix 3-D Lucky Love Impresslits with a brass cardstock. First cut out about a 4" square and spray lightly with water on the back of the cardstock and then run it through the Sizzix Big Shot about four times for the desired impression. In the past, I have colored these impresslit die cut and placed the die cuts back into the impresslit embossing folder and ran through the Sizzix Big Shot again to bring out the 3-D embossing. I found a sentiment in the Tim Holtz sentiment label package and added some glue behind it and adhered it to the card. I'm back today with a post for the Scrapendipity blog featuring the Tim Holtz Treats Blueprint stamps! I'm totally in love with these stamps! I used Distress and Tombow Markers to colour my images after I stamped on watercolour paper. To achieve the watercolour look I used a waterbrush to lightly go over the areas I coloured in. Since there are four of these stamps in a set I decided to coordinate them into a set of matching cards. I love how summery and fun they turned out! Here's a close up look at each one. I added some baker's twine, sequins, glossy accents and Stickles for some extra fun! Thanks so much for joining me today! Don't forget to check out the Scrapendipity Store for lots of great Canadian scrapbook shopping!I hope you are enjoying some summery weather wherever you live, and maybe even a yummy treat or two!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Thank you for joining us for the Thanks/Thanksgiving Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week we are challenging you to add some snow to your project: Let It Snow!!! Also today Jo aka Let's Art Journal is with us as a Designer Spotlight for the month of November! HERE you can see his beautiful BLOG! Il piccolo pupazzo di neve di Idea-ology è stato il punto di partenza! Dopo averlo colorato con i Distress paint ho costruto intorno a lui un piccolo mondo.... ovviamente adatto a lui! My inspiration for this project kicks off from the little snowman of Idea-ology! After having colored it with Distress paint I built around him a small world ... obviously suitable for him! For the first time I used one of those small and wonderful metal boxes by Tim Holtz. I added to the box Idea-ology icicles colored with Picket Fence Distress Paint and sprinkled with Distress Dry Glitter Clear Rock Candy. Nel paesaggio non poteva mancare qualche alberello! Ho usato le misure più piccole di idea-ology e colorati con Distress stain spray. In the landscape could not miss a few little trees! I used the smaller sizes and color them with Distress stain spray Per decorare l'interno della scatola ho tagliato a misura un foglio di patterned paper di Tim Holtz e ho timbrato con Versamark e polvere da embossing Copper Tinsel, un colore meraviglioso! To decorate the inside of the box I cut Tim Holtz's patterned paper to size and stamped with Versamark and Copper Tinsel embossing powder, a wonderful color! Spero la mia scatola natalizia vi abbia ispirato e vi sia piaciuta! I hope my Christmas box has inspired you and you enjoyed it! Ora tocca a voi! Hey folks! Today I'm sharing something new for me. I recently decided to check out some Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Paints. I love their inks so much and I love paint, so I thought I'd give these a go. Nothing speaks to my inner 5 year old like paint. Well maybe glitter...but I really love liquid paint. I make a spectacular mess every time, but it is so much fun! For real peeps, I should probably where a plastic bib, because I am a maniac with paint. I don't know why, but it's a great ride, so it's cool! So that brings us to my card for today. If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I will have thumbnail links for you at the end of the post! Awhile back, I bought the Shooting Star Stamp Set by Mama Elephant, and I've gotta say, what a lovely set it is. I have the Little Girl Stamp on my "someday" list, but in the meantime this sentiment came in handy dandy. I simply stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock and I mounted that on a piece of Wildberry Pie Bazzill Cardstock. The 2 colors of Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Paint I used were Broken China and Black Soot. I experimented with a lot of things, but what I actually ended up doing was applying it straight from the bottle and then I blended them out with a damp paper towels. I really just kept layering them until I got what I wanted. Well, I kinda got what I wanted. The picture I had in my head is not what I ended up with, but I decided I like it, so I called it a day. Just like Distress Inks, drying in between layers works the best to get that paint to really build up. After I let it dry for the last time, I used Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire and a Blending Tool to add some depth and interest to the Broken China. I also splattered some Ranger Perfect Pearl in Perfect Pearl (mixed with water) and some Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Picket Fence that I had watered down for a "starry" look. I also added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Stars. That's it! Easy peasy and loads of fun! Until next time! Hello everyone! Hope you are all safe and doing o.k. during these difficult times. I am so grateful I have many hobbies and interests(and supplies!) that will keep me going for a long time. I'm sharing a tutorial today on a project I created for Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 2 at Creativation. Who doesn't love distressed bricks and suitcases! Love this Brickwork 3-D Texture Fades embossing folder! I know this is going to show up a lot in my future projects. Then there's the Baggage Claim Bigz die! Those little detail elements make these suitcases so dimensional. I've also used a frame from the Chapter 2 Decor Frames Bigz die for my sign. There's this rectangle shape and an oval shape on the same die. Using the back side, I painted my Tim Holtz Vignette Tray with white Gesso. Starting with the background, I embossed a piece of Tim Holtz Mixed Media Heavystock. Spritz your paper lightly before embossing to avoid cracking. I chose a paper that would withstand my paint. I also embossed an older 3D Texture Fade, Foundry. I didn't take any photos of my painting process for the two embossed folders, but if any of you have visited here before, it's the dry-brushing method with Distress Paint that I use a lot. A few examples where I've used this are here, here, or here. I started with Ground Espresso(dark brown), then reds, ambers, etc. The main colour is whatever brick colour you choose, but add in some brighter colours in the layers, to give it interest and depth. After my two pieces were painted, I cut the brickwork piece, following an uneven pattern where the bricks are separated. I wanted the top half to show more bricks, so I cut that part wider. With the remaining piece left over, I flipped it and added it to the bottom part of the brick piece. The Foundry piece is adhered first, then the Brickwork to the wood tray. I left a small piece uncovered at the bottom, as my little base is adhered there and I wanted a flat surface. I did go back and add some black flecks of paint to my bricks with my Splatter Brush(Ranger Tim Holtz TDA47841) and I stamped little bits of the graffiti writing on the Stamper's Anonymous Evolution CMS262 stamp. I just inked that part of the stamp I wanted to use and pressed it onto the brick with my hand. I wanted the writing to be random and not perfect. I would do this before adhering your Brickwork to the tray (so much easier). I used two pieces of Tim Holtz Etcetera Bracket Trims, one wider than the other. Adhere these together and paint with white gesso. Paint this piece with a dark brown (Ground Espresso) let dry. Add Ranger's Opaque Crackle Texture paste to random areas. Let this dry, then highlight the cracks with Tim Holtz Distress Crayons, in darker brown tones. Before Adhering the base, I adhered Tim Holtz Travel Collage Paper (TH93950) to the sides with Distress Collage Matte Medium. Also apply it to the top of your papered sides, to seal it in. Adhere your base to the bottom front of your tray. This also helps your tray stand better without falling over. Die-cut your Baggage Claim suitcase pieces with chipboard. I painted them with white gesso before dry brushing my colours on. This gives the paint colours a white base to start with and the colours are more true, but also it adds some texture to your pieces from the brush strokes. Start with your darkest colour and dry brush the lighter colours. Die-cut your straps and handles with Tim Holtz Metallic Kraftstock and Black cardstock. Distress these by sanding and adding a small amount of Distress crayon. Adhere to the suitcases. Your suitcases are ready to add to your piece. I've added in some moss, and Tim Holtz Ephemera under and around the suitcases. A large Paper Doll (tinted lightly) sits on top of the suitcase. I cut a slit under the one hand and stuck a Tim Holtz Snippets(TH93564) Ephemera ticket in the slit to add more dimension. I used foam adhesive squares to adhere him so he isn't flat against the brick. For my sign, I die-cut the letters with adhesive backed black cardstock using the Tiny Type Upper Thinlits set(664406). I have been using this set and the lower case set so much lately. Perfect size for cards or anything else and because the letters are small, you can actually spell out longer words! I adhered the letters to a piece of Woodgrain cardstock that had been coloured with Distress Oxide Sprays. This was cut to fit behind the frame. The frame was die-cut with chipboard, and Tim Holtz Black Metallic Kraft Stock, using the new Decor Frame Bigz Die. I adhered the Black metallic frame onto the chipboard frame, then distressed it with sanding and brown distress crayons. This frame was then adhered to my tray. I also distressed a piece of ephemera(a sign) with Distress Oxides, sanding and inking, then adhering it to the edge and around the corner of the tray. And that my friends, is the end of my tutorial! Here's another look at the tray! Hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and it inspires you to create your own scene with these amazing new dies and 3d embossing folder. Thanks for visiting, hope you come again. Jan Please stay safe and STAY HOME, craft away!
