Maqueta de la caseta del transformador de San Martín de Ollas, obra de "Maquetas & Modelos" One of the good things about this hobby is the possibility to meet great people sharing our love to modeling. Even so much paper and carboard around in our homes leave us little free space and time, we cannot wait one day more to show you the models of those we are meeting through these posts. Today we would like to show you how our models were edited by our fellow modeler "Jubilata". We strongly recommend you to visit his blog, "Maquetas & Modelos", where you can find interesting articles in Spanish and paper models for free download. Estación de Tren de Navacerrada en 2012, foto de PHM publicada en el blog "Maquetas & Modelos" The first paper building posted in the blog is Navacerrada Train Station, N scale. The post offers a history details about this building. The model is great, nothing to envy to some other station modelled in other materials. Furthermore, you can set the time you choose by choosing among the 4 color options offered. As informed in the blog, the HO scale is now being prepared. We can as well find an old electric transformer building in San Martín de Ollas, (Burgos, Spain). I think it is a perfect model, I personally like it a lot and will do my best to build it soon, as I think that this kind of structure should be present in every model train layout; it is very useful in industrial set-ups. I can remember those towers from the time when I was a child, they provided good service to many villages. It is available in scales N and H0. Another tower, the one in Carbajales (Salamanca, Spain), is also available, all details perfectly reproduced. It is worth visiting this blog, you will see that models are very well done and detailed. Like us, the author is persuaded that cheaper options of materials for layouts and games should be available to modellers.
Night ambience at the station of Carbajales de Alba (Zamora), in the Direct line from Medina del Campo to Ourense (Madrid-Galicia). Beautiful construction, unrepeatable nowadays and four fans of the railroad. From left to right: Lucas, Luis, David, Marcos and myself, behind the camera, that I was taking the unexpected photo...

Artesania Rinconada Hound Figurine Lot ~Hand carved in Uruguay ~Both are signed AR on the bottom ~They either have glass eyes or glazed pottery eyes ~I believe they are both Bassett Hounds but I cannot locate the smaller one in my online searches, maybe he's a Beagle or maybe he's rare?? ~Both in great condition and extremely cute! ~Larger dog has his paw up which would rest on a water bowl which is missing(their price reflects that fact) ~Artesania Rinconada means "corner art" which describes the location that the artists Javier and Jesus Carbajales created their art- literally in the corner of a room in their house in Uruguay. Measurements: larger dog- 2.75" height X 4.75" length X 2.50" depth smaller dog- 2" height X 3" length X 1.50" depth Weight for both: 11 oz (before packed to ship) *********************************************************** Please view all pics as they are a part of the description. ************************************************************ **Please note** Vintage/used items had a previous life way before I found them- in fact some may have had a few lives- so they are not brand new. They may have signs of wear, dents, crazing, scratches, hairline cracks, missing glaze, chips, oxidation, etc. I've carefully scrutinized, cleaned(if feasible), photographed and described each piece that I offer to the best of my ability so that you will know what you are getting. I am, however, only human and might miss something but I try really hard to be thorough with descriptions, approximate measurements and photos . Hopefully the only surprises when buying from my shop will be pleasant ones... that's my goal :)
Vintage Artesania Rinconada stoneware figurines set of 3. This set includes a grey koala mom with a baby on her back, a beige laying down lion, and a squatting baboon. All three are jungle related, which is why they are being sold as a set. Great for that beginner collector looking to get a good start on their collection. Baboon has a slight chip in his ear, but that is the only flaw out of all three of these pieces. Artesania Rinconada is internationally known for its unique personality, character and originality, the Artesania Rinconada Collection is truly one of the finest examples of contemporary ceramic design and craftmanship. Each subject is carefully hand-carved and detailed from fine grain earthenware ceramic material then, after its initial kiln firing, decoration continues with the hand application of enamel colors and glazes used to accent and highlight individual design characteristics. Each enamel glaze must be re-fired individually in order to preserve it?s distinctive coloration. This exquisite collection of hand-crafted ceramic design was created by twin brothers Jesus and Javier Carbajales during the fall of 1972 in Montevideo, Uruguay. The Carbajales were born in Spain in 1930 and moved to Uruguay when the Spanish Civil War erupted in 1936. The brothers, however, did not forget their artistic roots. They were strongly influenced by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Joan Miro; three Spanish artists whose work dominated the first half of the 20th century. Measures baboon - 3x2.5x2 koala - 3x3x2 lion - 3x2.5x2
