This page is written in the in-universe perspective of the "Garion" series' of novels. Ce'Nedra, or X'Nedra (following the Dryad naming tradition where all names begin with an "X"; the spelling was changed due to the Tolnedran dialect), was an Imperial Princess of Tolnedra and eventually the Rivan Queen. She was the wife of Belgarion and the daughter of Ran Borune XXIII, Emperor of Tolnedra, and the Dryad Ce'Vanne. She bore the titles of Queen of Riva, Imperial Princess of the Tolnedran Empire,
I made this string quilt for my granddaughter Ce'Nedra (or Cedie as we call her). It was made scraps that I had on hand in my stash and I really like how nicely the purple and green came together. You can make your own string quilt from our How to Make a String Quilt tutorial. This one was made some time ago but I hadn't gotten around to finishing it. So as her birthday was approaching I decided it was time to get it out of the cupboard and finish it off. I decided not to bind the quilt but
The 10mm silver toned jingle bell is capped with an antiqued silver plated acorn cap with a tiny oak leaf detailing. These "acorn" earrings are hung on a silver toned filigree ball ear wire. These whimsical earrings represent the earrings in the story. They are approximately 1 1/2" in overall length and can be purchased in an antiqued bronze finish, too. See link below. These silver toned jingle bell acorn earrings are inspired by the book The Belgariad, by David Eddings. Ce'Nedra, a character in the book loved these earrings. An excerpt from the book states that "Ce'Nedra's mother wore the two acorn earrings of which her daughter was so fond, and the two tiny clappers inside them gave off that faint, musical tinkle ..." "They crossed the last band of open fields and rode in under the ancient, mossy oaks. The leaves had fallen to the chill winds of winter, and the bare limbs of the huge trees were starkly etched against the sky." "A peculiar change came over Ce'Nedra as they entered the Wood. Although it was still not really warm, she pushed back the hood of her cloak and shook out her coppery curls, causing her tiny, acorn-shaped earrings to tinkle musically. Her face became strangely calm, no longer mirroring the sorrow that had marked it since the abduction of her son. Her eyes became soft, almost unfocused. "I have returned," she murmured into the quiet air beneath the spreading trees." A larger and smaller versions of these are also in my shop in both gold and silver and have an oak leaf accent. They also represent the rebirth of life, which is where we get the old saying "from little acorns come mighty oaks". Celebrate life and luck by wearing this symbol.
