I’m a little slow in recovering from my Savannah trip over the holiday weekend because I’m worn out from all of the fun packed into 3 short days! I made the most out of the girls weekend and soaked up the sights (and soaked up much of the local food as well). The highlights of [...]
Here are some incredible signage design inspirations I have been collecting from everywhere.
Storefront on Main Street in Madison, Indiana. Tenuous Link: ice cream ⇒ soda fountain.
Black and white is a classic combo that never goes out of fashion. Throw them together into a stripe, and it's even better. I've been seeing this pic all over the place lately, and it was love at first sight: is this not the most gorgeous storefront ever? It belongs to designer Liz Caan. Perfection. I love black and white awnings. So fresh, yet chic and classic at the same time. And how better to frame a lovely window, or door, than with one of these arrangements. Sibella Court's shop, The Society Inc. Love the green door too....and that it won't stay that way for long - she changes its colour often. Brilliant Nathan Turner is starring in my new fave show, Million Dollar Decorators. Of course we're late to the party here in Australia, but I don't care. Loving it sick. Double the good stuff. Love the awning and the pooch And best of all, it completes an Aussie beach house to perfection. So, are you a fan of black and white? Love it, or (heaven forbid!!) hate it? A huge thanks to Mansion on Forsyth Park for the wonderful stay! All thoughts and opinions are my own. Last spring’s trip to Palm Beach, FL had Marissa and I craving another southern destination to travel to together — so, when we started brainstorming where we wanted to go, Marissa mentioned Savannah (since she had been once before) and I was IN! I had always wanted to travel there and was so excited to check off another Southern location off my travel bucket list! Savannah is Georgia’s oldest city and has been named “one of the world’s friendliest cities” by Condé Nast Traveler readers — which I HAVE to agree with! In my opinion, it’s the quintessential South (amazing food, the sweetest people, hot and humid temps), but it really has a vibe of its own. It’s also one of America’s most haunted cities (in the same circle as Salem, MA and New Orleans) and has a very somber history that now lingers with a slightly spooky energy. Despite all that, it’s one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to and I can’t recommend traveling there enough! The entire city is covered with huge, gorgeous Spanish moss draped […]

On the last day of our final road-trip through Sicily, we drove a few kilometers up the coast from Catania to Taormina, the island's most popular beach resort. Word of its charm had reached our ears from just about everyone we'd come in contact with: friends, strangers in bars, neighbors, Twitter acquaintances. Even my grandmother called to say that we should really visit Taormina. She's never even been to Sicily and she's been dead for ten years! Phone calls from beyond the grave are pretty persuasive: we had to go.
